why the hell are we still talking about OJ???
Does anyone think that if he had been accused of killing a black woman
and got off (the prosecution had no case and Mark Fuhrman plead the fifth when asked if he had planted evidence in the investigation) we'd still be talking about it today..
It is definitely a race thing...Black folk are guilty, period(i am black)
1.michael jackson
2.OJ
Why is it when a case like Robert Blakes is splashed across the fecal landscape that is network tv (he went into the restaurant because he forgot his gun...HIS GUN!!!)
and he's found not guilty no one is talking about what a miscarriage of justice it is that he beat a murder rap.
It is a shame we still live in a race baiting society where the media can destroy
famous black(that's right i said black!!!) people for sport and shield themselves in
the self righteous ammendments...once again white establishment protecting white establishment...
It's a shameful spectacle

Mr. Turley, now that Mr. Jackson is dead, and the coroner's report clearly confirmed that he did indeed suffer from vitiligo, you might wish to re-phrase your conclusion that "Jackson’s bizarre, kabuki-like appearance gave testimony to his alleged perversities." Certainly someone of your education and breeding wouldn't refer to anyone's disability in such uncompassionate terms, would he?

Furthermore, "Pajama Day" is equally debunked by his lawyer's public statement--no doubt ignored by medialoid--that Jackson fell in the shower that morning and was summoned, under threat of bail forfeiture, to the courthouse immediately, no matter what he was wearing, which happened to be hospital pajama bottoms.

I'm really disappointed by your commentary about a case you obviously didn't take the time to follow then, but you can redeem yourself with a compassionate review of all that has emerged since then about the malicious prosecution by Thomas Sneddon & Co. Did you know, for example, that Janet Arvizo consulted with the attorney who assisted the Chandler family in extorting Jackson in 1993 a full seven months before the Arvizos even met Jackson? Hmmm...

Jackson faced his accusers with strength and dignity but, of course, "strength and dignity" is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

Excellent article and thank you for sharing! I, too, have found the following to be true: "By putting police officer Mark Fuhrman on the stand, they handed the late Johnnie Cochran the ready-made story of racist cops bent on making a case against an African American celebrity."
