The law does not, nor should care, whether a persons was delusional or not. The only cares about whether or not the criminal was aware that they were breaking the law and is able to aid in their own defense.

Nut jobs are nut jobs, but if they knew they were violating the law and can testify for themselves or speak coherently with their attorneys, they a able to stand trial and be convicted.

NOTE: Complying with God’s demand to kill your child is still murder. No god’s law supercedes secular authority while you’re still wearing your flesh. Render unto Caesar…
