Assistant U.S. Attorney John D.R. Atchison was accused of flying to Detroit last month to have sex with a 5-year-old girl. He had earlier attempted suicide and appears to have succeeded on this second try. He was found dea in his cell in a Milan federal prison. What is curious is how he could be successful while presumably on suicide watch. Prisons can be sued for the failure to take reasonable measures to prevent such a known risk. Atchison, however, earlier convinced his lawyer to get a suicide watch lifted and perhaps he was equally successful with prison officials. For full story, click here
