A New Campaign Against Witches in Massachusetts: Catholic School Bans Harry Potter

Harry Potter may have fought the death eaters and Lord Voldemort to a stand still but he is no match for Catholic St. Joseph’s pastor, the Rev. Ron Barker. In the Wakefield, Mass. school, Barker has removed the popular series (often the first major book read by children) from the library because he finds the subject of witchcraft and sorcery to be inappropriate for a Catholic school. Massachusetts obviously has a long history in dealing rather firmly with witches, but most Catholics have found the Harry Potter series to be less of a recruiting device as a learning device.
