Nothing Says I Love You Like 50,000 Volts: Retailers Marketing Designer Tasers

It appears that all of the abuses recently with tasers, including the entry below, may have only driven up sales. Retailers are marketing designer tasers in such colors as hot pink for that special lady with a hankering for muscle-paralyzing electroshocks.

As we deal with widespread reports of abuse, the industry itself may be guaranteeing its own survival with such sales. It will be very hard to make this cat walk backwards when hundreds of thousands have shelled out significant money for their own designer tasers. One of the problem with tasers is the perception that they are non-lethal and thus more reasonably used. This is clearly the view among many officers who seem to “taz” first and ask questions later.
