I realize that this is off topic but I was searching your site for John McCain references and this was the most recent.

I have a question about him which has,I presume, come up before but would appear to be moving into prominence now that he seems to have wrapped up the Republican nomination for President.

As you know,John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone to parents who were both United States citizens. So,even though he was not born on U.S. soil,he is considered to be a citizen via automatic "naturalization".
Article II,Section 1,#5 of the Constitution goes into the qualifications required of anyone wishing to hold the office of President. One of those qualifications is that the individual must be a "natural born Citizen". I would read this to mean that birth would need to occur on United States soil. If this is true, then John McCain would be prohibited from serving as President.

As a Constitutional scholar,I would be interested to know what thoughts you might have regarding this subject.

Last night MSNBC had two one hour shows listed on the schedule for 10PM and 11PM PST. Both shows were mis-titled and were actually hour long biographies of political candidates. The shows aired on Thursday, February 8 on DirectTV.

Show #1: Charles Manson = Hillary Clinton
The first one was listed as a biography of Charles Manson at 10PM PST, but it was actually a biography of Hillary Clinton. The parts that I saw were very flattering, and that would be fine if we were not in the middle of an election.

Show #2: Murder of Anne Marie Fahey = John McCain
The second one was listed as the story of the murder of Anne Marie Fahey at 11PM PST. This one was really all about that Straight Talkin' War Hero Maverick, John McCain. Somehow they wove in James Dean, Corvettes, California bathing beauties, and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

It is bad enough that they are giving this free media during an election, but what is with the titles? They were both mis-titled.

I did not see similar puff pieces on Obama, Huckabee or Paul? It would be hard to tell because of the bogus titles.

Isn't there some FCC regulation or campaign law that would prohibit this?

Will the Supreme Court issue a decision about of this type of free media?
