msnbs bs,

You're way too hard on Chris. He has a good point. But there is an added dimension. We can't at this time as a nation boycott China's products without running the risk they would be forced to liquidate some of the US debt they hold. And you would agree we definitely don't want to do that...both political parties agree on that.

But at the same time, no one on either side of the aisle is happy with them trashing Tibet. Its just that we blew our chance back in the Eisenhower presidency to establish an independent Tibet, and now we (and the Tibetans) are paying the price for that cowardice.

Greater China is on its way: Taiwan will probably be re-assimilated in the next 15 years, Tibet has gone under for now. Central Asia and those "-stan" SSR republics are next.

Chris, public opinion? I bet half your expenditures go for garbage made in China. Don't come here pontificating when you and the others put forth zero effort to economically stop China by not buying their crap.

China's exporting power and its seat on the Security Council of the UN does not leave much room for international pressure. However, it's still nice to see how new technologies like YouTube can still provide some form of critcism and accountability in the form of public opinion.

Calling the Dalai Lama a monster is akin to calling Gandhi a monster. The Chinese government once again demonstrates that it just doesn't get it. Is it time to boycott the Olympics yet? I, for one will not be supporting them in any way this summer.
