A big step though to indiscriminately killing its populace. I detest the fundamentalist sharia legal system but I am not going over there to bomb their citizens. But there is a natural detestation of a foreign occupying force in one's own land and this can't be discounted. That "they hate us for our freedoms" meme is misleading and only a minority truth in the bigger complex of attitudes which include admiration and respect (or at least formally did).
