Late Reiser: Leading Programmer Takes Police to Wife’s Body After Denying the Murder at Trial

Hans Reiser (creator of the ReiserFS file system), 44, strenuously denied that he had murdered his wife throughout his criminal trial — only to be found guilty. He even asserted his innocence following the verdict. However, in a surprise development, he has led police to his wife’s body.


Reiser was facing sentencing for first-degree murder after his guilty verdict in April.

He let the body of Nina Reiser, 31, in a ravine less than a mile from the house where Hans Reiser lived with his mother.

Such disclosures clearly have a benefit in sentencing, but are undermined by the fact that the defendant forced the court to go through a

    The “geek” defense just because he invented the Linux operating system reiser file system…kinda lame.

    More like you’d have to pry my Linux operating system from my cold dead hands.
