California Law School To Be The Setting for Documentary on Porn Star IL

It may not be the type of exposure that West Los Angeles School of Law was seeking, but the school will be the focus of a new documentary “Porn Star Goes to Law School,” the account of Traci Bryant, 38, (known as Anita Cannibal) who is now a IL — studying while continuing to work in the porn industry.

Featured in the Bitter Lawyer, Bryant describes her work for better health and safety for adult film performers. Putting stereotypes asides, Bryant can be given considerable credit for finishing her undergraduate life at California State University while working in the industry.

It will be interesting to see if anyone tries to challenge her bar admission on morality grounds. In my view, such a challenge would be meritless absent a criminal conviction. This is a lawful industry in California. (Even criminal violations can be waived as a barrier upon investigation in cases where individuals have shown later rehabilitation and responsibility).

In the early days of the West Wing they explored a similar topic, when Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe) ended up dating a high priced escort who was studying law. Given she had not been arrested they felt she would be able to become an attorney if she passed the bar. Of course her’s was a criminal enterprise, and it was of course a ficticious account but this reminded me of it.

I don’t see how they could keep her out, given acting in porno films is no crime.

Ah the modern 1L. Alas why couldn’t I have been born 27 years later. That surely would have made Property Law more interesting!

You, no doubt, would have given new meaning to the phrase
    ‘continuing nuisance’, mespo.
