Shaving every morning might be something of a challenge for one Pittsburgh police officer. The officer has been found to have shot a mirror after seeing a man pointing a gun at him. It turned out to be his own image.
The officer was investigating a drug complaint and was chasing one of the suspects, who was believed to be armed. When one of the men ran into a home, the detective entered the kitchen and saw a suspicious character pointing a gun at him. He fired two shots and bagged his own image. In the meantime, the suspect (who dropped his weapon) escaped. A teenager in the home was unhurt, but the mirror is finished.

However, in this case I do not think the officer could justifiably claim “self-defense”…
