I think that the proposed vote was not for expulsion of Stevens from the Senate, requiring two thirds vote of the entire Senate, but for expulsion from the Senate Republican Conference (caucus), requiring a majority of Republicans.

If I understand that juror comment, Sen. Stevens should have kept his mouth shut and he might have fared better. Good riddance to a crook who has been stealing from the country for years. It is time for him to spend a little retirement time in an institutional setting.
