Lieberman is a fool, whose outrageous statements have earned him a following. He is being given enough rope to hang himself by Netanyahu, not appreciably better but much less over the top
than Lieberman. My guess is he won’t last out a year in the coalition government. AIPAC too is on its’ way out primarily because they bet on the wrong horse in the last election. As for the 14 Jewish Senators Randy, Al Franken, Russ Fe five Jews in a room, means 6 political parties. ingold and Bernie Sanders are quite different people from Joe Liberman, Chuck Shumer and Dianne Feinstein.

I have a little tip for you, while homogeneous culturally, in some instances, Jews are about as dis harmonius as any other religious/ethnic group politically. Remember the old, old joke that 5 Jews in a room, equals 6 political parties. The only thing American Jews seem to believe in across the board is that 75% of them voted for the liberal candidate.

Large donations from ‘friends of Israel’, primarily Jewish but also evangelical Christians, cause the Israel lobby to have a disproportionate impact on what America does. Jewish people also are elected in numbers disproportionate to their percentage of the American population, especially in the Senate where there are, I believe 14 Jewish senators, including Al Franken.

I believe there are innumerable instances where the absolute support of Israel has harmed America. If we cannot be seen as an honest broker in the Middle East, we will forever just be the big brother that stands behind the obnoxious kid to ensure he can get away with any manner of irresponsible behavior.

It is my fervent wish that President Obama will help this situation, but senators like Feinstein, Schumer and especially Joe (the senator from Israel) Lieberman will make it damned tough to make any substantial progress.

What all these stories the past few days show is there are different factions in our govt. who are trying to get their message out. Notice that Jane Harmon and Diane Feinstein are a part of the war crimes story in addition to the other news they are invovlved in. Certainly cheney’s people are putting out their propaganda. We need a person who is knowledgable about the intelligence community who could explain what is really going on. I don’t think all this information comes out at the same time by accident.

Israel is not a state and as such does not deserve our protection given their history of 1) espionage against the U.S. and 2) persistent shit disturbing instead of looking for a peaceful solution.
