The truth is Las Vegas is known for persecuting Americans with Middle Eastern names of Rahman. As in names of Rahman in GITMO.

Las Vegas Lionel Sawyer and Collins, closely connected to the political name "Senator Harry Reid and sons" law firms are hired to investigate and do forty hour degrading interrogations in locked areas on minors and women. If you run they chase you blocking your rights to movements humiliating humans more.

They have Judges force you to give your Passports over and all files requested. So they can view and have inside Government peep and look for where you have traveled. Search for money in other Countries.

They harass you on your Government job site making you look suspicious and like a terrorist.

They invade all your private information life insurance, birth records, marriage records, education, phone, email accounts, banks, credit, medical, military, Social Security, work related documents and all Government records.

These human rights abusers cause persons to be afraid of you they block you from advancements on jobs.

Then Judges allow for lawyers investigation charges for you to pay for abuse they did on you. Close to two hundred thousands and interest judgment. To pay for the interrogations and invasions investigations after they had been paid once before.

Las Vegas is violating the United States Constitution and has acted the same as Saddam Government treated humans. They are in violations of International Laws.

Las Vegas Judges do not allow for Middle Eastern persons to have the right to happiness nor the right to privacy as Grantee under the U.S. Constitution.

This is a way to profit and take property away from Middle Eastern person with the names like Rahman after hard labor. Even if you are an innocent victim because of Post 9/11 and race hating inside of American Judaical system they condone this activity.

Las Vegas allowed for Middle Eastern wives to be raped and charge them for this if they report a crime. Even after a conviction by the perpetrator.

Las Vegas Judges are racist and violate human rights inside and out side of America.

The Governor of Nevada office sends out Homeland Security to your home humiliating you and to investigate for what was once the right to free speech for speaking against human rights crimes.

It was once understood that if you could have free speech you should be able to report it after you were victimized and came close to death.

Torture Judges you bet it is any way you look at it. A disgrace world wide for Nevada and those who have behaved like SSaddam and Hitler.

I’m not talking about occasional and obviously inadvertent typos. . . .

Seriously, I don’t anyone who’s had a decent education who does that nor anyone who gets away with it in a professional setting.

Now exactly what were you trying to communicate to me.

That a) You are no lady;
     b) That you are a fool;
     c) That you cannot write a clear coherent sentence to convey your thought; and
     d) That you are abysmal.

I'm not talking about occasional and obviously inadvertent typos. Even Jonathan does that because he's busy, just as I am, intermittently, at the moment.

You use periods where you should be using commas. That you do so repeatedly demonstrates that this is the way you write.

Just a little tip - all of the lawyers I have ever worked with never would have made it through college, much less law school without knowing how to construct a complete sentence.

CCD,

So long as Obama is in power he has the authority. I will offer you that we are still trying to Deport an Alleged Nazi War Criminal in the greater Chicago area. If that can be said.

So the answer is NO, No Statute of Limitations.

I would be scared, but you do not know where I live other than in Texas. Big state and W ain't to far away. Could it be Crawford or could it be Dallas?

See, you need not respond to this. Let us see how much dignity of a lady yo have. Is that too much to ask? Were you the one who always sucked up in class to be the teachers pet?

I as you can figure was the class clown, I brought humor and lightness to some grave issues.

As I see it and "I Robot" mentality aside, was and am still doing my part. You are a Harvard trained MD as you claim. Do no harm Doctor.

Patty C,

It is evident that you are a very unhappy person or why would you take the time to insult others like you do. This is an open/free thought blawg site. Take you family battles home to where they belong. Deal with the people that you need to deal with and just realize that sometimes you will never get the answer from them for why they did things the way they did. So as a mature adult, you such it up and get over it. I am sure you can.

I could take personal jabs but whats the point, I see your weaknesses from a lot of things that you have posted. Why do you get mad when someone disagrees with you, have you met her do you have some personal animus against her?

Life goes on. You either get caught up in the tide or you learn to swim to shore, sometimes parallel. Which is doing what you have to do to survive.

So with that Just try and get along. When I read something I do not agree with I try and understand why it offends me so. It is not an insult to my dignity or my worth as a human being. I don't know these people other than being on here.

It is not a soap opera, it is a lot of people who have the same ideals and it is just a matter of how we get there.

In 'fairness' to seamus,'Esq', no less, not that he deserves it from me, perhaps if it weren't for Jill's flagrant disregard for my many requests to 'Cool it' and watch her potty mouth, which he no doubt was mirroring, perhaps he would not otherwise have been disposed to foul the area with exchanges so incredibly disrespectful and juvenile. We may never know, now.

And don't you DARE pretend like you don't what has been going on here with any, and every, guy who's come along for the past several months, Jill, because there's plenty more were this comes from:

After you’ve eaten all of your leather goods, I recommend the paste off the back of your wall paper. Of course this all assumes all of the the cats, dogs, gold fish, clueless squirrels, slow-moving oppossums, and Irish have all ready been eaten.

After the paste I recommend the bark of a chiccoree tree. Look for grubs under fallen trees. And don’t through out those old cotten cloths, boiled in urine they make a stew that can sustain human life for up to a month.

Come on America, you bunch of pussies!!! This is just a wee little bump in the road, no need to panick. I found a site that actually explains how to make soilent green. If it’s good enough for Chuck Heston, it’s good enough for me!!

Keep those buckets full of rain water, pray for smaller government, and that God that George Bush has brought us closer to Rapture. Good night, and go fuck yourself.

maybe not, by 1988 you would have been out of a job and would have had to pump gas for a few years or start a new career. I went to Huston in 1988 for a World of Concrete convention (yes I know it sounds terribly exciting, but I did get to meet a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader) and they had PhD's in geology as bell hops and you could buy a house for about 50k or less in one of the "good" neighborhoods.

So you were smart to do what you did. Anyway I used to see guys that were 35 look like 50, and they say hardwork never killed anyone, maybe not but it does put some gray on the head.

I worked for a logging and perforating company in the oil/gas patch in the 4-Corners areas of the great southwest. I started out as a roustabout, considered a roughneck position and one as a pumper—job offers; worked loading explosive rounds in downhole well casing perforating guns; and then I turned down an apprentice well logger job—bore depth/stratigraphy—(starting @ $20,000.00) in the mid-1970s. That was the worst financial error I ever made because I later took a starting WG-3 Federal government job instead (ask Mike Spindell about such a choice). However, money is not the measure of a man's honor, satisfaction, or accomplishment in a career choice, if he is honest with himself.

Seamus,

Please reconsider about not posting. I will embarass you with my next statement, but some of the things you said have been profound.

Lottakatz,

I lost that thread you posted on. I was thinking how to respond and can't find it. If you get this message can you redirect me?

Thanks

Mike S.

I haven't responded to some the things you call "corrections" because they didn't seem to be corrections. I've been very careful to back up any criticism I have of Obama. Saying that you don't like what I said because I say too many negative things or because I never liked Obama isn't something that I can reasonably respond to. If you tell me that the negative thing I said is untrue, and you show me why it's untrue, then I will agree with you. Whether I like Obama or not is irrelevant. It's no different than my statements about bushcheney. I don't like them and neither do you. So neither of our statements can be evaluated on whether we like or dislike any particular political figure. Either the statement about them is accurate or it isn't. If it is inaccurate, then there should be a retraction of the statement. So far, when I'm reading what you say I haven't seen a factual refutation of what I said. (I might certainly have missed this.) I have seen you say things such as I know what has happened but I believe in my heart that Obama is a good man and knows what he's doing and he's just doing everything for the greater good. That's an opinion, not a correction of facts. We are never going to agree on that opinion. I did try to lay out arguments as to why I can't agree with that opinion but basically, it seems like we would just go round and round and never get anywhere so it makes sense to me to drop the enterprise completely.

I agree with FFLeo. This blog is Professor's general invitation for us to enter his space and consider his views. I would never use such language in his space and I will not use it here. For one thing it's disrespectful, if sometimes clever, but more importantly it takes away from the civil discourse we have enjoyed for so long. If it means losing a poster or two, I am willing to pay that price for adult conversation. I have no interest in watching this unique experience descend into some type of guttural cacophony of group name calling. We are all much better than that as our many posts have proven, and I am certain JT has better things to do than referee sandbox disputes and potty-mouth language.

He either wanted to be left alone to do his drugs and drive, before he got beat. Or he wanted to be left alone after he got the crap beat out of him, because he was in too much pain. Or he wanted to be left alone after the beating was settled for 3 million dollars. or he wanted to be left alone because he had money (then) to do his drugs after he got stopped again. The last time I do not believe he got beat. I may be wrong.

Seamus et al.

Professor Turley sometimes posts court cases involving profanity as topics and then we comment on those cases. Most reasonable, thinking people are against outright censorship, although most also appreciate decorum in public places unless they specifically and voluntarily go to a place noted for raucous behavior and/or foul language for whatever entertainment value, say for example, a smoky country western bar. Like an ‘ol country song, you just know there is going to be cheatin’, drankin’, swearin’, and cryin’ in the beer when you enter those swangin’ doors of that bar/pub below the flashing, cheesy neon sign. I have not seen such a sign over 'Turley’s Place' nor would I enter if I did.

As a old man who has heard every word possible from jobs in the military, law enforcement, oil field work—one of the most profane places on earth—and when dealing with drunk and drugged modern-day hippies at 2 am in the morning while I ran them out of restricted areas, I am not a prude. However, when I enter the Number 1 Legal Theory and Law Professor Blawg, I do not expect the same profanity that a person would hear in a bar, strip club, or at any one of the thousands of websites that are filled with every profane word found in the Urban Dictionary, and then some.

Seamus, you do not post very often but when you do, you are mostly funny, sometimes respond to, and provide legal comments. I think we all like most of your comments and I certainly want to read more from you.

I view this blawg as a place to access legal commentary on current events. If Dick Cheney says as 4-letter word in the halls of government and nothing happens to him, yet some common citizen says a less descriptive ‘cuss’ word and then gets fined and/or goes to jail, then writing the words within this blawg seems appropriate for discussion. However, using profanity left and right to emphasize a point during comments is inappropriate, in my view. After seeing such commentary I think, what if someone who dislikes ‘you liberals here’ were to copy back-to-back profanity-laced posts from this blawg and then posted those on their website to embarrass the “Turlees" (coined by Patty C). Yeah, they could say, some real legal scholars those Turlees are, they cannot express a thought—legal or otherwise—without using sophomoric gutter language that they did not need a J.D. to learn, or did they?

One thing that has concerned me is that there are professional lawyers besides Professor Turley who post here using their actual names, which are sometimes linked to their own websites/businesses. Having such accomplished, experienced lawyers willing to make the effort and take the time from their full schedules to reply to topics is what makes this site exceptional. Then to have those lawyers’ cogent and legally helpful posts juxtaposed to needless, base, foul language denigrates their efforts and this blawg—guilt by association, if you want to call it that.

Perhaps I have gone much too far with this rebuttal. However, I consider that I am in Professor Turley’s virtual classroom and I would never shout profanities during his lectures or at my other classmates. To do so is to disrespect him, his profession, and his professorship. Most people reading my comments now have viewed the Hardball video with Pat Buchanan and know how foolish, uncontrolled, and ridiculous a man he really is. The disrespect that Buchanan demonstrated towards Professor Turley is very similar to the way I view excessive profanity used within his blawg.

Of course, Professor Turley is the ultimate arbitrator of what happens here, although he is only one man doing the important duties of several competent, professional legal scholars. We can help by first respecting him and his site netiquette and then by policing ourselves whenever any of us has a *bad day* and starts to post something excessively inappropriate and too profane. We are guest students or visiting attorneys in Professor Jonathan Turley’s cyber-college and we must afford him the decorum he unequivocally deserves.

I have not seen such a sign over ‘Turley’s Place’ nor would I enter if I did.

After seeing such commentary I think, what if someone who dislikes ‘you liberals here’ were to copy back-to-back profanity-laced posts from this blawg and then posted those on their website to embarrass the “Turlees” (coined by Patty C). From my understanding Congress can act with or with out any charges being filed. Of course with the House filing the charges.

The continuing qualifications to maintain being a licensed attorney to practice in the state or territory is still in effect. They must pay the bar dues and keep up the CLE's unless excused. So if a complaint is made against a Judge who has to be a licensed attorney it should start with the Displinary Board or what ever the states equivalent is. You can file a complaint and never even have met him.

Also, Yale had an article in 06 I believe that allows congress to summarily remove a sitting Federal Judge without impeachment proceedings

"Given the long tradition of adjudicating misbehavior in the ordinary courts, Congress may enact necessary and proper legislation permitting the removal of federal judges upon a finding of misbehavior in the ordinary courts of law."

So if he is found guilty of criminal behavior in a court of law he may be summiraly removed from office.

Side Notes:

With respect to Federal Judges, I am not sure that they have to be licensed attorneys to tell you the truth. I say that because the license and regulation is a pretty new concept in history. I have heard that the first Sct Judges were not licensed they had only and not all had graduated from law school.

You have probably heard of Judge Roy Bean, the Law west of the Pecos. He was real by the way. He was not licensed nor had he gone to law school. He was a Justice of the Peace. Here in Texas they still do not have to be an attorney, you could run.

The Law in Texas used to be an apprenticeship as well as in a number of other states. It was not until the 70s before you had to even graduate from a law school in Texas.

I am of the impression that the US Sct is called by the call of the President. History is full funness, one of the cases that a lot of the power of the Sct rest on is Marberry vs Madison, that was one of the most polictcal cases ever. It is my understanding that they had not been called in to secession for 2 years because of the fueding bewteen the president and congress. That is why you have a blank between 1801 and 1803. Jefferson was not well liked by a number of people.

This fued was further excelled because the President and Veep ran separately and the one with the most votes won. So there was a lot of stagnation between the President and Vice President.

Atticus,
Is your name based on Atticus Finch? Mockingbird was one of my favorite "attorney" stories.
Bybee would never get away with that defense if he was arguing it in front of a real judge. It is way past time that Bybee should be brought up on impeachment charges. Can anyone tell me if a sitting judge can be brought up on criminal charges or does he have to be impeached first?

I reside under the 9th Circuit's jurisdiction. I request some information on Judge Bybee’s status if an investigation ensues.

Are ‘appointed for life’ judges subject to administrative leave during criminal investigations of them?

If so—or if Judge Bybee resigns—who fills his position and what is the process?

Are any pre-investigation/prosecution decisions rendered by the 9th circuit ‘tainted’ if Judge Bybee is investigated, prosecuted and then found guilty?

"The empty suit" or empty principle defense.

Which time was it, when he wrote down his principles, let someone else write his principles for him, or when he would not stand up for his principles?

This is the getaway car driver explaining to the judge that he did not pull the trigger and therefore the charges should be dismissed.

Pathetic.

If he in fact did what he claims to have done, is there anymore grounds for Impeachment by Congress? Is this not an ineffective counsel defense that can be used? Would he just sign documents that come across his desk, the bench?

However, I believe a request for Investigation can be asked for in the state in which he is licensed as well as the Judicial Tenure Commission or what ever is the same type of agency that polices Judges and Lawyers in the state that he is licensed.

The statments of Bybee are not credible. If he did not want to sign the memo he had the option of resigning. He did not take that option. To not resign would be dereliction of duty. He knew exactly what he was signing, he just didn't care. Now he's caught and his career is jeprodized. He's doing what the rest of these awful people are doing--throwing out one excuse after another, hoping one of them will work.

These people are all cowards, They claim to "love" America. If Dick Cheney loved America he would say: "I broke the law because I thought it was the only way to go. Now I am willing to submit myself before a court of law to answer for my crimes. I see him spouting part A everywhere, just as Pat Buchannan did in the Hardball interview. What I see none of these supposed patriots saying is the corrollary to their argument. They do not say I believe in the rule of law so strongly that I will submit myself immediately to the court for judgement. That gives the lie to any sincereity of their so called patriotism.

Let me be clear. It is my recollection that:

– The chairs and the ranking minority members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, known as the Gang of Four, were briefed that the CIA was holding and interrogating high-value terrorists.

– We understood what the CIA was doing.
– We gave the CIA our bipartisan support.
– We gave the CIA funding to carry out its activities.
– On a bipartisan basis, we asked if the CIA needed more support from Congress to carry out its mission against al-Qaeda.

I do not recall a single objection from my colleagues.”

We have been lead to believe so many things over the last 8 years, plus 100 days that it really makes alot of sense. From WMD's to Obama being a teacher of constitutional law. As Mr. T use to say, "I pity the fools". Lying is just not for breakfast anymore, it's become the main course.
