Her paranoid story about a possible (unproven) affair 35 years ago makes it appear she is senile. I am surprised you are quick to stick her in high security prison, Professor Turley!

One a serious note, this highlights the problem of spousal abuse toward males. I imagine that older men in particular are unwilling to leave marriages that are physically abusive, for fear of embarrassment. I wish he had reported her the first time she beat him (not that her killing him was his fault for not reporting).

Until just recently, this was the 84-year-old husband’s favorite Rollin’ Stones song:
