"U.S. Blues" by The Grateful Dead

Red and white, blue suede shoes, I'm Uncle Sam, how do you do?
Gimmie five, I'm still alive, ain't no luck, I learned to duck.
Check my pulse, it don't change. Stay 72 come shine or rain.
Wave the flag, pop the bag, rock the boat, skin the goat.
Wave that flag, wave it wide and high.
{July 4th's} done, come and gone, my, oh, my.

FFLEO,

LOL! This happened to me but there were windows in the dining room and they can't watch you straight on for 3 hours!

We got to see a caterpillar turn into its chrysalis. It was unbelievable. The Nootka Indians say that Copper Woman (their founding mother) split her skin and left the earth. I kept thinking of their origin story when we saw it. I wondered if they had been moved by seeing the creation of a chrysalis as well and used it to describe death and rebirth in their culture.

That photo reminds me as a kid when my stepfather used to make me clean up my supper plate even if *he* put food on my plate he knew I disliked. He would say, you are going to sit there until you clean your plate, even if it takes all night.

Have you ever tried to eat green, slimy boiled spinach after it sat on your supper plate getting colder and slimier as, in desperation, you laid your head in your crossed forearms on the dining room table unable to mask the smell?

Well, every time I faithfully managed to ‘clean my plate’ but without copious amounts of ketchup and salt n’ pepper, I would have perished. My dog, my best friend who used to lick my plates clean under the table—sans spinach—wouldn’t ever eat the boiled green slime for me. If we had owned a cat, it would have likely started covering it up immediately.

By the way kids, do not believe that nonsense from your parents that spinach will “make you strong to the finish ‘cause I eat my spinach, like Popeye the Sailorman” because after eating all of that boiled spinach, the closest I ever got to ol’ Popeye was knots on my elbows like him and some girlfriends who looked like Olive Oyl…

I suspected the evil Sirius empire all along--note their attempt to capture the airways and insert themselves into GM products. You may want to give them this caution from me:

"...so we never got to go to the D.C. fireworks. Instead, those awake watched the movie Cats and Dogs (which I loved as a dog person)..."

Finally, we see a retreat from that solicitous attempt to ingratiate himself into the goat community. After first defaming both goat and squirrel, JT attempted to rectify his wrong here:

Now in an unguarded moment we see the truth. Dog person, indeed! I must now suspect an alliance between the canine cabal and the troll tyranny.

It was a fun day driving into Chicago and putting in a window air conditioner with my daughter. Of course we had a great lunch with the All American burger on the menu! Today, I get to do the lawn. Such an exciting life!

After being with friends and family for the holiday,There may be some who wish they could show how they feel this morning, with all the Food,"Liquid Refreshment"and with the latter sometime we tend to overindulge. This may illustrate how it feels now:

mmmmm

cherry pie.

Not that I'd have any room for it at this point with that entire cow I ate yesterday.

Yep! Crawling back into the food bowl for a nap sounds pretty good at this point. All that's missing is a belly rub.
