225px-official_portrait_of_barack_obamaDeKalb Officers Ryan White and C.M. Route are suspended pending an investigation in why they used a DeKalb County computer to run a check on President Barack Obama. Both are roughly two year veterans of the force.

On July 20th, the officers are accused of running a query on a patrol car computer. The Secret Service is notified of any such queries and notified county officials.

Old news I posted the link to the story yesterday along with the one to the Black Panther. Prof. as a suggestion, why don’t you put up a Tip Jar on your home page. Not in a $$$$ sense, but as a tip on news stories that you can pick and choose from.

  2. 2 Bdaman 1, August 1, 2009 at 8:38 am

Mike S. when I put the link up, you asked me if I had a problem with it. Yes I, Do. The presidents failure to be transparent, as he promised he would be, has led to a runaway nation of bickering over a piece of paper. It has led to a runaway nation of what appears to me, as two civil servants who feel as if they needed to answer questions or doubts that they have about the president. The question becomes how many more think like these two do. I suspect what these two officers found when running a criminal check, is like all of the other records of the president. When they hit the enter button, the screen came up blank with NO RECORDS FOUND in the middle of the page. This is what alot of more and more Americans who don’t walk around with blinders on are beginning to understand.

This president is not who he said he would be. And it’s not just him either. It seems to me that ever since read my lips there will be no new taxes to I did not have sex with that woman, Ms Lewinsky, to we will get the people who are responsible for 9-11. It’s a liers club. A club of deciet and the rest of the world knows it.

I am now calling for a Congressional investigation into the drinking water of we Southerners. Apparently, we are infested with the dreaded “stupid amoeba,” which renders us incapable of rational or even fact-based thought. After reviewing the recent Daily Kos poll showing 53% of Southerners believe Obama is not a US citizen or are not “sure” despite all the evidence, I am sounding the alarm that even low range cognitive function is right out the window. We are in desperate shape. Send money, guns (it’s the South), microbiologists, and lawyers, of course.

“As Public Safety Director for DeKalb County, I want everyone to know that we take these allegations very seriously,” he said in a statement. “We expect our officers to adhere to professional standards and departmental policy. Furthermore, we do not and will not condone the inappropriate use of county equipment or resources.”

Me think that Big Brothers is watching very, very closely on each and every move of even its own.

I wonder if a check was run on Gates? What is an ordinary citizen to do? well hell what can they do, thye don’t have the CIA or FBI or NSA to be a back up.

  5. 5 Buddha Is Laughing 1, August 1, 2009 at 10:03 am

    mespo,

That might not be enough back up. We should send Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner just in case and I’ll put the Werewolves of London on speed dial.

    (We miss you Warren!)

    AY,

Here’s the beautiful thing about Big Brother. By it’s very nature a surveillance society with a singular centralized control that is both capable of BOTH gathering data and implementing plans based on said data in a timely fashion requires an amount of manpower so great (absent the singularity of a true machine intelligence, but I digress) as to be impossible without the error of “self-consumption” coming into play. It’s an Ouroboros by the numbers.

Now if you want to consider the Greeks again, I submit that Big Brother in the instant case is not an Ouroboros proper, but a hybrid. Picture a hydra with eight of the nine heads either cut off or flailing about with their own agenda while one eats its own tail.

If that doesn’t describe the Federal government at this point, I’m not sure I can come up with better imagery.

Sound like the work of the Yawn Birther Society, a descent of the Flat Earth Society.

“Mike S. when I put the link up, you asked me if I had a problem with it. Yes I, Do. The presidents failure to be transparent, as he promised he would be, has led to a runaway nation of bickering over a piece of paper.”

    bdaman,
Latest polls show BC issue is a non-starter except in the South, where the President’s candidacy in many States was a non-starter to begin with because of his race. Your linking this story to it and throwing in the issue of transparency makes no sense to me, but I surmise is logically linked in your mind. Finally, on the BC thread you said recently that since Birther/JB was driven off only you and BVM are left to take up the cause. JB wasn’t “driven off” he was thoroughly debunked and trounced and had nothing left to come back with except more of the same. BVM is a moron, there is no other way to put it. I think you have more going for you than that, but you can ally with who you choose.

My suggestion to you would be that a bunch of rich, angry ultra-conservatives did not like the choice of the American people, do not believe in a democratic process and have mounted a campaign to de-legitimize the President. His transparency, or lack of same has nothing to do with it. It has to do with a failure to accept the judgment of the people and the need to protect what they see as their prerogative to run this country. By the way when the National Review and Ann Coulter say this is a dead issue, I think the proverbial fork needs some sticking.

DeKalb is a screwed-up place. A number of years ago, the sherrif-elect (known as a reformer who came up through the ranks) was killed in a hit that had been arranged by the guy he had defeated in the recent election. It’s also a county that has gone through transition from being “redneck” suburbia (with pockets of significant affluence) to being majority African-American. It still has largely white areas that are well-off and up until the recession, a lot of new development was focusing on middle-class African-Americans. The County should be in pretty good shape–it has developable land, it’s kept its well-off people and there’s a significant amount of gentrification in the section that’s within or close to Atlanta. Instead, it, like most Atlanta area jurisdictions, is a laughing stock. The County has always been in developers pockets and I’m sure there’s lots of lingering racism.

“County has always been in developers pockets and I’m sure there’s lots of lingering racism.”

    Rich,
Correct me if I’m wrong but hasn’t being in the pockets of developers and big business been a general problem throughout the South? It definitely is down here in Florida.

    AY,

This was also interesting. Apple in some ways is a scale model of secretive police state. Odd how it seems to end in civil war. Who woulda thunk it?

    “Enjoy every sandwich”

When Warren was on the show October last, he knew he was dying. Dave asked Warren at the time that by possessing that knowledge is there anything Warren knew about life and death and dying that maybe we don’t know? Dave then showed a clip from that night of Warren’s answer.

Did Warren know anything more by living through this experience? Says Warren; “Not unless I know that you’re supposed to enjoy every sandwich.” Back LIVE to Dave, Dave says it’s a lesson to live every day of your life.

Perhaps the two officers felt Obama was a suspect in the FBI anthrax investigation which has not solved the crime, indicted or arrested anyone, but only lost a libel case for false accusations.

Rep. Rush Holt has introduced legislation for a new 9/11 daze investigation into what really happened with the WMD made in America that killed and threatened many Americans.

When Dick Cheney heard about it he said it is a false accusation, my hit squads didn’t do it …

These officers pulled up the criminal and background history on the President. I’m sure their neighbors, in-laws, and the father who coaches the competing ball team have also been scoped out. Perhaps women who rejected an advance by an officer have been stalked using access to these records.

As we continue to build databases to force citizens to stand naked in front of the State, there’s much we can look forward to:

    1. Access to electronic health care records. Should an officer have more latitude with self defense measures (like use of a Taser), when dealing with individuals who have been prescribed anti-anxiety medications, or other psychotropic drugs? When it’s in the database, I can see that precedent-setting case coming shortly thereafter.

    2. Access to credit and debit card purchase details. The States will actually start this effort, which will eventually wind up as a federal database due to its reach. States like Massachusetts, for example, require residents to pay sales tax on purchases made in tax-free locations, like New Hampshire. In order to enforce those collections, States will begin to require filing of credit card records with tax information, and may compel direct electronic access to credit card records on all SSN’s on income tax filings.

    3. Dangerousness Scoring. Similar to credit scoring, the concept of “watch lists” and “no fly lists” will expand to include a score for an individual based on prior criminal history, line of employment, political affiliations/donations, military training, ownership of a firearm, and information on electronic communication preferences (like reading certain blogs, or calling certain countries), etc. This score will also be used by employers in hiring.

Any database lookup by a government employee should require a biometric identifier from the employee, date and time stamp, and be reported to the individual investigated within 30 days of the transaction. Only transparency will arrest the growing government abuse of private information.

  16. 16 Jill 1, August 2, 2009 at 9:59 am

    puzzling,

I agree. Unfortunately most of the information you site has already been collected by private companies. This information is purchased by the govt. and other private companies. We’ve pretty much had our privacy ripped to shreds. The govt. has gotten around the few crumbs of privacy rights we have left by contracting the work out to private companies, who have almost no laws restraining the information they gather. We need strict laws limiting both private and public gathering and use of our information.

these cops acted like bored teenagers waiting for their parents to get home from bailing their oldest sibling out of jail. I wonder who else they ran a search on. did they not know that police computers are not their personal Google? I mean, was that left out of orientation?

OK – not to feed the birthers or anything, but this document needs some explaining, no? Is it a forgery? If so, the people responsible need jail time (note: this is NOT an earlier discovered forgery)

    hidflect:

I am not a birther, always a seeker of truth though.

My inclination is that Obama was born in Hawaii just as advertised.

But the link you provided is very interesting to say the least.

If I were a betting man, I would say it too is a forgery.

But it proffers to be a solid paper trail, that should be followup-able.
Some of the retorts I have heard against the idea that Obama wasn’t an american, was “Don’t you think that if Obama wasn’t an American citizen, Hillary or McCain would have followed up on it and revealed it early in the campaigns?”

Well, the answer is yes, probably. But that question of an answer is still not an answer.
There could be many reasons why they couldn’t get a smoking gun reliable enough to raise it in public, and considered that action reckless for theirn own campaigns.

Whatever, if I were betting man I’d say he was a natural born citizen. 90% chance.

    “A debunking analysis:
    tinyurl.com/mzgm3s”

OK – (full disclosure: I think Obama was born in Hawaii too but I’d like to echo Gary T as he says: “seeker of truth”)

Actually – the debunking link is a bit self damning because it kinda conflates 2 separate documents. There’s not much “debunking” of the first except to pour scorn on the name E.F. Lavender, but then it rips into the second (which IS a forgery). At some point it seems to go back to the first(?) I get confused with the analysis… except for the bit where I get called an idiot… That bit I understand as Ad Hominem logical fallacy.

Well, Gary T, I have it on good authority that your real name is “Gary G”, I have affidavits to back that up and proof from your grandmother that you are lying. To get to the truth, I will subject you and yours to the worst form of harassment and intimidation because I don’t like your hair color, and will insist that you show me proof you never changed your name. I will not accept any official pronouncement from your home state, and will disregard your first grade class picture published in the newspaper with your name clearly marked as “Gary T.”

Some “truth” is as plain as the nose on your face, and an insipid journey to find it says more about the searcher than the object of the search.
