The Big Easy: Former Deputy and Current Illinois Reserve Officer Arrested in Drug Bust

Illinois_State_Police_sealWhile Memphis is dealing with an officer who allegedly helped run a major cocaine operation (here), Illinois police are dealing with a former Harvey police deputy marshal and an Illinois State Police reserve officer who has been arrested in a drugs and weapons operation. Leroy Grant, 38, is accused of both running drugs and selling weapons for a Chicago drug dealer. Grant reportedly told the drug dealer: “Money’s what … we here for!. And if it’s easy, it’s easy!”

Leroy Grant, 38, was arrested after he and the reserve officer transported fake cocaine last November for the drug dealer who was cooperating with federal agents. They picked up the drugs at a Home Depot.
