He did not benefit other than the goodwill of his courtroom.

As a free market guy, I like the fact that Logan was actually helping someone in his business rather than sweeping streets. A community is made up of individuals, so why not make people help an individual for their community service?

And wasn’t passing out chicken to the courtroom a community service? Either Logan paid for it or it was donated by the owner of the Chicken establishment because he had gotten 100 hours of someone “jerkin his chicken” for free.
