Hot Wings and a Side of Apathy

A friend of mine sent me this picture. I know that apathy is a problem for a great number of our fellow citizens, but come on. Sure, it’s silly, but do you think this is clever? Is it indicative of a larger problem with the American mindset? Both? Or do you just not care?

    ap,

I really appreciate the irony in that the staff of “I Don’t Care” really seems to care. Plus, what’s not to love about a bar with books?

Gene, I love that they reopened and served up some hot food for the stranded. Coupled with the books… I’m sold.

  4. AY – Lived in Greeley, CO in the late 70’s. Worked at a bar called “The Library,” and across town was “The Office.”

  5. humpindog:

“I would go to Limbo. Which, in my case was this suburb of Saint Louis called Florissant, MO,”

I have been there, you are in hell. Sorry to tell you.

  6. Because of the lie about Hell being a place we have all of the bad you say you dislike. That lie made men think that their laws and their weapons giving fire gave justice. That is satanic. People decimated KJV in every possible way acting like innocent little angels creating all of what you look aghast at saying; how did all of that bad occur?

  7. ARE: “But seriously, Americans have as one of our national characteristics that we DO care about things and try and improve lives and conditions.”

Really? Please forgive my sarcasm, but try to follow my line of reasoning:

    We (Americans) do care:
    1. We allow corporations & the wealthy to hide their profits in tax havens, preventing them from paying federal, state,& local taxes. We care about corporations & the wealthy.
    2. We care about mega churches, some of these churchs take in $70-$150 million a year, and allow them to be tax exempt.
    3. We care about giving tax breaks & loop holes to the wealthy & corporations.
    4. We care about corporations by allowing them to lobby congress & the presidency into passing legislation that gives them (corporations) power to do anything, especially the power undisclose info about what is in your food.

    We (Americans) don’t care:
    1. “On any given night, more than 300,000 veterans are living on the streets or in shelters in the U.S”
    2. “Rape within the US military has become so widespread that it is estimated that a female soldier in Iraq is more likely to be attacked by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire.”
    3. 1.8 million homeless children in America.
    4. How the mentally ill is treated in this country (See the following: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/12/17/why-cant-america-care-for-mentally-ill/)

For all of my religious folks: Happy Late Pentecostal Sunday!!

Your lamp is full of something, Artie. I know what’s not in your lamp and consequently what’s wrong with it. The proper medications and therapy.

  9. My lamp is fine. What light do you have to give human that does not know what charity is? Charity is not giving an early thing. 1 Corinthians: 13:4.Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Is your lamp full of this?
