We have all complained about rubber chicken dinners. However, it was merely a metaphor until this week when Portland-based Barber Foods Co. was forced to recall chicken meals after pieces of rubber were found into the Stuffed Chicken Kiev. Rubber was supposed to be the texture, not one of the actual ingredients.
There is now a recall of about 41,415 pounds of frozen chicken products produced on May 17, June 2 and Aug. 4. The packages were sold to customers nationwide through catalogue and Internet purchases.
This could make for an interesting res ipsa loquitur case. Under the test, this is not the type of injury that would occur but for negligence. It does not appear, however, that any serious injuries occurred. The biggest problem is not the handful of people reporting the rubber, but the thousands of others who simply assumed that this was how the chicken should taste.

I wonder how much will be liquidated and sold off to the airlines.
Worse yet, those were factory farm rubber chickens.
Well whoever hired Amelia Bedelia should be fired.
