Warning Shot: Las Vegas Officer Accidentally Fired Gun At Cuffed Suspect

This video should be in every police academy training program. The female officer shown in the video from Las Vegas stands with gun drawn while a suspect is cuffed and then accidently discharges her weapon — barely missing both the suspect and the other officer.

The video is actually a couple years old, but I have not seen it before this morning. This rivals the Dallas officer who tasered himself in another roadside arrest.

  1. Political correctnes in action . She should be fired and charged with unlawful discharge of a fire arm, she is not above the law

This actually happens quite often. The new Glocks that cops carry are easy to fire accidentally. I have two friends who are cops who have accidentally shot themselves, both times in the upper thigh, while holstering/unholstering their weapons.

What city(village) is this in? I don’t want to go there! They shouldn’t have a finger on the trigger while holstering/drawing from holster. Thats basic!

  3. Poor training. High stress situations require the finger be off the trigger until ready to fire. Luckily she aimed down lower at the last minute, the suspect probably just has hearing damage.
But this does show that only Police and Military are trained to handle guns properly. Right.

  4. getplanning,

When cops shoot themselves and other cops I have no problem. Thats what you call friendly fire, right? But do they get to get to be stupid and call officer down? Thats when I draw the line. There were about 102 calls like this, that were called in last year to the DOJ. Officer Down and duh, it was there own damn gun. These are the ones that are reported.

  6. Those 2 Keystone cop videos are hilarious….the officer tasered himself and he was later treated for his injuries.

  7. Byron,

‘just an accident’ would be what gets you in prison for X years or so should you have the bad luck of accidentally killing someone like this cop almost did.

I, for one, do not need a motorically handicapped cop in my neighbourhood, thank you.

  8. So Barny did retire to the west of Mayberry. Sheriff, can I have one more of those shinny new bullets? Please, Andy? Please?

The Dallas Copo Tasering Himself? Where is it? That should be good viewing….

    Justifiable Homicide indeed.

  9. why is everyone making so much about this? if it was a male cop it would be no big deal. Just an accident.

  10. I wonder if she had killed the suspect, or officer what the reasoning would have been in the report.

The tape would have disappeared, and this would have been written “the suspect was combative and I thought he was going for a gun, so I had to shoot him”.

  11. I wish it were like the old days when the behemoth cop just beat the shit out of you and it was over.
Now we have little small bodied women who would rather shoot than muss their hair…
