Richard Anthony Flores Jr., 25, appears to want a convertible but could only afford a sun roof. Police say that Flores tried to obscure his plates before this stunt was captured on traffic cameras. It didn’t work.
Flores has been charged with two counts of reckless driving and one count of criminal speeding. He was clocked doing 90 miles in a 65 m.ph. zone while standing up in his sunroof. While his stunt made Reddit and other sites, it also inspired the police to work double hard to figure out his plate number and address.

I actually got stuck between a bunch of morons doing this while driving back from DFW airport to dallas at midnight, a 36 miles drive. I wasn’t sure if there was a point calling the police but I really contemplated doing so several times as I was scared of a possible accident. I kept on slowing down to let the idiots pass, but few minutes later I will catch up with them again. they were a gang of 4 or 5 cars, 2 were driving like this guy in the video, the others were just speeding and passing each others while remaining in the group (I imagine not all cars had sun roofs)… to my dismay they exited ONE exit before mine…
It’s called “Ghost riding” and is apparently a fad. A dangerous fad. Get the car in motion and then get out of it and onto the roof, hood, the street etc. Go to You Tube and search ‘ghost riding’.

As I drive I try to always be aware that sometimes I’m sharing the road with idiots, therefore I must constantly assume that is always the case.
I bet he wished that he’d been playing Bingo rather than this. It is still one of those Ah Shit moments.

I guess I was lucky growing up. They didn’t get all of this modern technology until after most of my most stupidly amazing human feats.

When I clicked on the link to read the full story at New Times, I discovered two things.
The first was that this happened here in Maricopa County, AZ and Sheriff Joe ain’t gonna like this guy’s humor one bit.
The other discovery was a separate article at the New Times site about a coordinated stunt by Improv AZ that involved folks riding the new light rail system with their pants off—with photos.
Either/or?
I didn’t know the states of stupidity and tallness were mutually exclusive.
