Lock and Learn: English School Fakes Shooting Death of Science Teacher As Lesson

We have another case of English teachers accused of terrorizing students with a fake violent crime. We previously saw this curious pedagogical technique in Sheffield, here. Now, teachers at Blackminster Middle School in Evesham, Worcester are under attack for faking the killing of a teacher in front of screaming children aged 10 to 13.

The teacher arranged for a man to appear brandishing a gun and then kill science teacher Richard Kent as he ran across a field. They then pretended to try to resuscitate him without success.

After ten minutes of children weeping and crying, they were told it was part of a science lesson. Some children were physically ill and one went into a panic attack.

While apologizing, the school insisted that the children learned lessons from the ordeal. I expect utter terror and panic are lessons of some kind, but not exactly part of SOL curriculum in the states.

  1. I really can’t explain why this story produced paroxysms of laughter from me. Truly I’m not sadistic — maybe a little by extension though, have to look into that…. LOLz

    /..

  2. I fail to see how this act of terrorizing the sh*t out of kids will teach them valuable life lessons … I must have slept during that class.

These are the kinds of teachers that ought to be shown the door, with the help of a swift kick in the arse.

  3. Will these ‘teachers’ be paying for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? I don’t think it will matter to a lot of those kids if the situation was ‘real’ or not. IF English school teachers are licensed, these teachers need to have theirs pulled. They should also be banned from working with children. If thy have kids of their own, social Services should be checking them out. Sadistic monsters.

  4. Also, how is this for cold…

“It was one of the more popular teachers who played the victim, I don’t think there would have been as much concern if it was one or two of the others.”

Does one’s boss saying they don’t think anyone would care if you if you were murdered in your workplace count as creating a hostile work environment?

  5. Funny that this story arrives on the heels of these two.

The British school system would go to insane lengths to “protect” its students from the statistically improbable chance they might become the victim of a sexual predator on the one hand, and then turns around and terrorizes the same students on the other.

If British children need protection from anyone, it’s from the British school system.

  6. Duh…..That’s very true 🙂

Buddha…..Thanks, but I don’t dare click the ” play ” button on that one as it is likely to stay ringing for days…lol.

  7. I have the “ear wig” killer song. Knocks out that bug every time for me:

  8. CE,

Look at it on the bright side. It’s better than having the whistled theme from “Mayberry RFD” in your head. 🙂

  9. WOW, now that’s some creative teacing technique!
Btw Buddha, thatnks to you I will now have Pink Floyd ringing in my head all day long!

  10. Time for reptiles and amphibians in the desks. Dressed in pink slips, of course.

  11. Since when did watching someone get killed become a invaluable life lesson? This is nothing less than school sanctioned terrorism.

  12. “Teachers! Leave them kids alone!”

If prog rock bands make multi-platinum globally selling albums that still sell 30 years after they were released and the material is rooted in large part on how badly your ossified educational system damages children?

They say art is merely a reflection of the society in which it flourishes. GIGO is only part of the picture. Bad processes can take diamonds and turn them into dirt, too.

But in plain terms, seriously, what the Hell were you thinking, England?
