Sunday in Paris with Eric

Here is our picture of the week from our erstwhile colleague in the City of Light, Eric Tenin.

Here is Eric’s description:

Not the most glamorous photo, I agree! I even had to cheat a bit with it for the original was really… well… not nice! But the reason why I posted it, is that there is something truly Parisian in it – and truly unique: a baguette vending machine (on the left hand side)! Yes, people, a boulanger (baker) managed to create a baguette dispenser that can operate 24/7 (it’s more than a dispenser actually as it completes the cooking when you pay, so that it’s crunchy like a fresh one). Think of all the poor Parisians who crave for a baguette at 4am! Now they know where to go: 20 Avenue Mathurin-Moreau in the 19th arrondissement.

Eric Tenin is the co-founder and CEO of polltogo.com, a mobile polling platform, but he is also a true Parisian (born and raised there). Since 2005, he’s been taking a photo of his home town every single day, to feed his www.parisdailyphoto.com (PDP) blog. Since the launch of PDP, thousands of other cities have joined his CityDailyPhoto.com community, sharing their cities from a local view. One of his pictures is featured each Sunday on the Turley blog.

  1. I am surprised that the French allow those English words on the awning. The langauge police must be asleep. I always get a laugh out of them since English is more sinned against than the sinner when it comes to French words being in our language and hardly sinned against when English words creep in.
