Noam Chomsky Goes Gangnam Style

Noam Chomsky, considered one of the world’s leading intellectuals, makes a surprising appearance in this MIT takeoff of the popular Gangnam Style video. Chomsky is an Institute Professor and Professor (Emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at MIT.

Chomsky appears around 3:30 and it is hilarious that they convinced him and various MIT professors to participate in the spoof.

These takeoffs of the video are proliferating. One of the best is Romney Style below. Even if you are a supporter, you have to admit that it is pretty funny. I gave the Al Smith dinner to Romney but I have to give the best Gangnam Style parady to Obama supporters:

  1. Good grief, Ralph. I’m a pretty decent fellow all in all. I just can’t tolerate blowhards & know-it-alls, and am embarrassed to be sharing a name with one.

  2. Please ignore the Leftist, anti-American, anti-Israel, Islamopandering mental defective “RalphAdamoNewOrleans, who is an abomination not only to the good name Adamo, but to fine American city of New Orleans itself.

  3. The horse dance is becoming famous in over the world and the singer named Psy is known as a worldwide idol. Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ video has more than 300 million YouTube views and counting.Millions of people imitated this dance. A teacher teaching math danced ‘Gangnam Style’ in his period to make it less boring and his students are very interesting in his new way of teaching. A teacher teaching physical education did the same thing in the physical class. In recent days, people told about this song and its dance had proved as an internet sensation when almost 1000 inmates of a Philippine prison burst into the famous horse-riding dance..

  4. As tiresome as it is, I want, for the record,to note that the person named Ralph Adamo saying these ignorant things on this site is not me, Ralph Adamo of New Orleans. The ‘Ralph Adamo’ spouting his usual rubbish on this site is not worthy to speak about Professor Chomsky.

  5. BillO and Keith AblO on “Gangnam Style”:

“Bill O’Reilly is really befuddled by the popularity of “Gangnam Style” — so befuddled that he brought controversial Fox News psychiatrist Keith Ablow on for an existential discussion about the viral sensation on Tuesday.

The mega-hit by Korean pop star Psy recently became the most-watched video in the history of Youtube. O’Reilly, however, just wasn’t having it.

On Tuesday night, he hosted Ablow — who is known for saying that Chaz Bono on “Dancing With the Stars” could make children reconsider their gender and and that Newt Gingrich’s infidelity would make him a better president — to explain “the madness.”

O’Reilly argued that the dance was just a rendition of the “pony” move. “800 million views of this?” he asked. “What’s going on??”

Ablow offered his mind-blowing assessment: “I think what this fellow is tapping into… is the fact that people don’t want any meaning right now.” He continued, “It is just is sort of like a drug and that seems to be what most people seem to want right now. Not reality, not feeling, not meaning.””

  6. Gene, show me where you Leftists don’t adore Chomsky? Just saying so, ipse dixit, don’t mean diddly. Are you saying that you’re not anti-America and anti-Israel? Oh come now, you know that you hate America and Israel, just like Chomsky does. You can admit to the truth, can’t you. I mean, I know that deception comes as natural to a Leftist as a swan takes to water, but do you really think that you need to pretend to be something that you’re not?

  7. And yet “Leftist” here don’t find Chomsky particularly a darling thus disproving your blanket statement. Imagine that.

  8. Gene, I will direct you to a book entitled “The Anti Chomsky Reader,” edited by Peter Collier and David Horowitz. Chomsky is a vile, repulsive anti-America, anti-Israel, pro-totalitarian, and all-around “darling” of the far left.

  9. Once again, Ralph Adamo (not the Ralph Adamo from New Orleans mind you) sweeps in with some rather ridiculous blanket statements about “Leftists” and Chomsky. Do you make tempests in that teapot all the time?

Some of us “Leftists” – and I’m not the only one here who thinks this way – find Chomsky to be brilliant in a very narrow range, but hardly a figure to “flock to” as we in general find him to be a total pantsload, much like Buckley was. Some of his work in linguistics is genius. Quite a bit of his politics are ridiculous. So you see Ralph, nobody here – even the Leftyest of the Left – worships Chomsky. You seem to have a real hard on for him though. He must have made a real impression on you too. You’ve managed to take a light-hearted story about silliness and turn it into a scree against Chomsky and “Leftists”. Good show.

  10. Bron, you’d like to see clips of Buckley tearing homsky to shreads? I suppose that I could assemble those from the full-length video from Firing Line, but that would take up too much of my time. However, you can see pretty much the complete show on Youtube. Here is Part 1. To see the additional parts simply cut and paste the title and change Part 1 to 2, then to 3, then to 4, etc.

  11. Ralph Adamo, “lardnous concentrations”? OMG! What do we have to buy to get rid of them? How much does it cost? Will it be covered by insurance? 😈

  12. Chomsky is only considered to be a “leading intellectual” by Leftist dopes, which is, admitedly, a redundant term. His “philosophy,” if it can be called that, is simply a highly distilled sludge of ultra-Leftism. That makes Chomsky’s writings toxic to any rational, thinking person. It is the mental equivalent of filling your blood stream with unctuous, saponaceous, and lardnous concentrations of cholesterol. In short, reading Chomsky will cause the Leftists (that seek him out like flies on shit) even more cretinesque than they were before, it that’s possible. However, I must admit that I occasionally enjoy seeing reruns of the debates between William F. Buckley and Chomsky on the old Firing Line show. Buckley simply tears Chomsky to shreads, and does it with ease and aplomb.
