Brandon Ancell, 19, and Brandon Chait, 18, probably thought that the Grinch made it look so easy in Whoville. You just wait for Christmas gifts to arrive at houses and steal them. The problem arises when a neighbor plays the role of Cindy Lou Who with a camera.
The men are now facing various larceny charges and a really really damaging piece of video evidence. This is not the type of thing that you want to go before a jury at any time of the year.
The men are charged with thefts in Macomb County, a Detroit suburb. As is often case, they followed a UPS truck to snatch presents. Ancell above was captured straight on by the neighbor as he carried a large Macy’s box back to their 2010 Nissan Altima. The man then called 911 to report the thefts. Another neighbor also called the police from another street. That speaks well of the entire neighborhood.
Police say that they found a car filled with stolen items from clothing to cosmetics to a 30-pound bag of dog food. They must have one of those high-maintanence French poodles.
They were released on $5000 personal recognizance bonds.

Back in 1993, Jesse Jackson was quoted by The New York Times as saying this: “There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery — then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”
Reverend Jackson was just being honest, putting forth that many Americans feel uneasy in the presence of young black males, especially in the inner city.
African-Americans make up 13% of the American population, but 36% of the prison population.
Whites are 63% of the general population, 33% of prison inmates.
Hispanics, 17% of the general population, 22% of prisoners.
So you can see that crimes committed by blacks dominate the statistics.
African-Americans commit more murders than whites, even though the population difference is huge.
So that’s the primary reason grand juries give police the benefit of the doubt when there’s an incident in the black community — the high crime rate.
Also, most Americans understand that police work is difficult.
Right now there are about 670,000 law enforcement officers in America.
According to the FBI in 2013, the last stats available, almost 50,000 police officers were assaulted.
And 76 cops died on the job.
In the past 50 years, the rate of black Americans killed by policehas dropped 70%.
In 2012, 123 African-Americans were shot dead by police. There are currently more than 43 million blacks living in the USA.
Same year, 326 whites were killed by police bullets. Those are the latest stats available.
In 2013, blacks committed 5,375 murders in America.
Whites committed 4,396.
Whites comprise 63% of the population.
Blacks, 13%.
So anyone thinking clearly can see that the homicide rate among blacks is way out of proportion.
Thus, the police intrusion into black precincts since in a whopping 90% of black homicides the dead person is another black or the offender himself.
Michael Eric Dyson and his soul mates will tell you it is white America’s fault the black homicide rate is so high.
He will call you racist if you cite the statistics.
So there is no question that police work is intense, especially in poor neighborhoods.
We are all human beings, and we all form general impressions about life, and — sad to say — the overt impression formed about young black males who act and speak a certain way is negative.
It may not be fair, but it’s reality.
Faced with that, some police officers unfairly target young black males and those officers must be stopped.
But most cops try to be fair.
Now many politicians are too cowardly to tell you what Talking Points just stated.
They all know the truth, they all know the stats but they refuse to discuss the core problems — poor education, poor family structure, and an attitude of defiance toward law enforcement.

Well, if you have a small group of people (blacks) committing crime all out of proportion to their percentage in the overall population, then it is not “racist” to notice that fact. Not only would a person be really stupid to not notice it, In fact, it is even more “racist” to ignore the reality. Because “racism” is the act of treating someone differently because of their race. Which makes you potentially a bigger “racist” than anybody else.
To give an example, all those “security alarm” commercials which pointedly refuse to show black criminals breaking into the house, out of a “Willie Horton” smear fear, are actually much more racist than “Willie Horton” ever was.

Nonsense. When was the last time you saw an all-black pedophile ring trading children for sex? I’ve never seen that. Yet every year, we see overwhelmingly white sex rings being broken that do exactly that. Since whites are almost exclusively the perpetrators of such rings, have you NOTICED the fact that whites are committing that crime out of all proportion to their percentage of the population? I’ll bet not.
Whites are, what, 5% of the world’s population? Maybe 10%? Yet they have been responsible for killing other people wildly out of proportion to their numbers over the last three centuries. In fact, there is no place on earth that I’m aware of that whites didn’t try to kill or enslave the native people when they first encountered them. That is not true for any other group. Have you noticed that? I’ll bet not.
Selectively not noticing when whites commit terrible acts is one of the ways that white skin privilege is practiced.
Also, refusing to note that a huge reason that blacks are disproportionately represented in crime stats is because of selective enforcement. Whites and blacks use illegal drugs at similar rates. Whites actually use hard drugs like heroin and cocaine at higher rates than blacks, yet blacks are arrested for drug crimes at five times the rate of whites. We see police literally fishing for drugs when they stop black motorists, but not doing so with whites unless they see or smell drugs. So if you concentrate enforcement efforts on one segment of society while turning a blind eye to crime committed by other segments, of course you’ll find more crime in the segment you’re targeting.

Corrective rape might fall under cruel and unusual punishment, but people seem to love the idea of it happening to people they don’t like.
What a great country to live in where people actively threaten people with rape as a punishment for criminal acts. What next, public stonings and burning at the stake?
