I had to share this video posted by a shopper who captured kids discovering a far better use of fans than just moving air.
It is a shame that the cost and complexity of fun rises with age . . .

My grandkids are visiting and I bought them several new toys. The toys last 10 minutes at the most, but give them a watering can and every plant and tree gets lots of water. Give them a garden trowel shovel and they want to dig.
BTW all those toys I bought are on the floor, waiting to be picked up.

What made me happy … was that two of the kids did not care that they were being surveilled….. they are free

Free play is free. Except for the occasional run to the emergency room.
Mom took me to Macy’s 34th St. NYC to meet Santa Claus when I was a kid.
I picked out yellow crane toy. Santa said, you’re going to get the wooden block set.
Then asked Santa if I could touch his beard. He said yes. The beard fell off and I called Santa a fake, fraud and phony. Santa had chat with mom and I got the yellow crane.
I can remember me and my sister yelling into a fan at the top of our lungs thinking the house was empty only to have our older sister appear and ask us, “What the hell is wrong with you two?”.
Hilarious! I could see my kids doing that. Thanks for the morning pick-me-up.
