Easter Hunt Nabs Two Alleged Burglars

1459583485375This is pretty hilarious. When children and adults spotted two criminal suspects running across a field in Surrey, England, they saw a National Police Air Service helicopter searching for the men. They acted quickly and formed an arrow pointing to where the two men ran. Police attributed the fast arrest to the Easter Egg hunters.

The helicopter team landed near the kids and the kids gave them chocolates from their personal stashes.

Now that is an Easter Egg hunt not soon forgotten.

  1. What a great way to bond over Easter. Find a few eggs, use your wits to help nab some criminals, teach your kids that crime doesn’t pay.

  2. A comic thief lived in the wood.
    His Brit name was Robin Hood.

    On every Easter he would steal.
    And go to Church and pay for meals.

    The hungry people liked him much.
    But rich folks thought he was a schmuck.

  3. Sacre Bleu! But this deserves a poem!

    The Arrow Of Their Ways???
    A Short Verse by Squeeky Fromm

    I saw an arrow on the ground,
    It pointed where the crooks were bound!
    Bobbies, above in whirly birds,
    Received that message without words.

    They kicked the rudder in degrees,
    And sped toward a group of trees,
    Those trees, whose hungry mouths were pressed. . .
    Oh wait! That’s Kilmer! I digressed!

    Back to this, the cops and the chase,
    Those robbers in their hiding place!
    For silly headlines, this is tops:

    Note: This is based on the famous Longfellow poem:

    The Arrow and the Song
    By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

    I shot an arrow into the air,
    It fell to earth, I knew not where;
    For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
    Could not follow it in its flight.

    I breathed a song into the air,
    It fell to earth, I knew not where;
    For who has sight so keen and strong,
    That it can follow the flight of song?

    Long, long afterward, in an oak
    I found the arrow, still unbroke;
    And the song, from beginning to end,
    I found again in the heart of a friend.

  4. stevegroen – who said the Arrow was a fictional hero? 😉
