Avery Davis, 26, appears to believe that a dog is a man’s best friend but there are just some things a canine will not do: like attack police officers to protect a suspected felon. After Davis told his pit bull to attack police trying to arrest him, the pit bull instead turned around and attacked Davis.
Police in Riviera Beach, Florida were investigating a burglary when they spotted Davis, who matched the suspect’s description. Davis was walking with is dog and carrying hair care products. At first he complied with orders, by them ran from them and said “Y’all gonna have to kill us.” The dog clearly did not feel the same way. When Davis was tasered, he released the pit bull and allegedly said “Kill’em boy, kill’em.”
Instead the dog bit Davis in his buttocks and trying to bite his head as Davis fled to a nearby apartment complex to hide. He was later arrested and taken to a hospital. Davis has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count resisting an officer with violence. Notably, the original charge of burglary was not included in the list of charges, at least in the initial articles.

That’s an interesting thought. If he mistreated his dog, once the cops were there the dog seized the opportunity to get revenge on the jerk and bite him in the ass. Smart dog.

If he was holding the dog when he was tasered, the dog might have though Davis was the one causing the pain. The dog might have decided to exact a little rough justice on Davis. On the other hand, If the dog did feel the taser, the dog might have been momentarily confused. The poor dog might have though he was biting anything from a police officer to a good steak.
We just don’t know the dogs intentions and we are not going to know until we teach dogs to talk or give them paw pads so they can text.
Chances are that this individual didn’t treat his dog particularly well. Sadly the experience of persecution of tends to flow from old victims to new victims.
Damn!! You just can’t run around carrying hair care products in public, it’s a felony.
Some expert (?) on a website once wrote that German Shepherds are the only really reliable guard dogs. That’s probably pretty close to the truth, but to be sure I think you also need a dog from bloodlines with the right sort of selective breeding- and training couldn’t hurt either.

The dog was was smarter than its owner. It knew that loser was going down, and hoped the cops would take it to a comfy no-kill shelter to be pampered by old lady volunteers, rather than dumping it in the county pound.
