Ok, it was a DWI but this alleged drunk driver achieved one distinction that few felons could claim . . .
. . . he hit a helicopter.
The HW 566 police helicopter had responded to a rollover accident around 1 am in New Mexico and landed to render assistance.
That is when police say Glenn Livingston, 26, drove around a barricade and crashed not only into the helicopter but a fire truck for good measure.
Livingston was charged with aggravated DWI, resisting, evading and or obstructing an officer among other charges.
Both vehicles were left inoperable.
Whatever the outcome, Livingston might be the first drunk driver accused for hitting a helicopter.
Why should his insurance company have to pay out for that? Doesn’t DUI void your insurance in the US?
“I’m telling you straight bro. It wasn’t a pink elephant, it was a pink helicopter!”
Clarence Kelley was the Director of the FBI during the mid 70’s. Kelley was a Kansas City native and sent pork back to his beloved city in the form of helicopters. The timing was perfect. The Vietnam War was ending so there were plenty of helicopter pilots looking for work. So, Kelley filled the skies over KC w/ choppers. When I first moved to KC I lived in a sketchy neighborhood. Virtually every night it sounded like Robert Duvall’s helicopter cavalry from Apocalypse Now was invading. I never heard Wagner playing, however.
What was that helicopter doing in the middle of the road as we came around the turn?
I’ve heard the same excuse for telephone poles also.
This is the end result of bad Helicopter Parenting.
Man, he musta been flyin’ high. Sounds like a bottle of Old Crow.
Now, that is shit you get to brag about in the lock-up. Mad props.
God, I hope he is insured.
He better be insured for a LOT!!
