The beating of women in Islamic countries remains a serious concern, particularly after Islamic clerics advised men how to beat their spouses in Islamically correct ways (here and here and here). With the rise of Islamic parties in Morocco, women are particularly concerned. This concern was magnified recently with the airing of a state television program on how women can use makeup to cover bruises left by domestic violence.
Television program Sabahiyat, on Channel 2M, featured tips and a demonstration from a makeup artist covering up bruises on a woman made to appear as the victim of domestic violence. The cheerful host told viewers “We hope these beauty tips will help you carry on with your daily life.” To make matters, the program aired two days before the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It appears that just a little makeup is all you need to eliminate the problem in Morocco.
After an outcry, the program removed the clip from its website and offered a “clarification” that the episode was “completely inappropriate and has an editorial error of judgment in view of the sensitivity and the gravity of the subject of violence against women.”
That is sick… your pretty much teaching people it’s ok to be abused and His is how you cover it up… in a sense it can be helpful maybe AFTER you left and need to do this but it may also be sending the wrong message I’m glad they took that down …

I’m speechless. We appear to be getting closer and closer to the point where a higher being may think it’s time to destroy humans on this Earth and start over.

bill mcwilliams – Bill Clinton could do a PSA for men on how to cover up bruises, etc from spousal abuse.
Bill also knows how profitable (in more ways than one) the Cocaine In America) business can be.
For him, it helped in earning his bones. That + traveling to Moscow (as a college student) . Even if his (stated) purpose was merely a vacation. Wink wink, CIA.
Maybe the Muslim GWU students could do something about this real issue. I could think of about 2 million more issues like this worthy of protest.
And to think Prohibitionist thought stopping everyone from drinking would stop spousal abuse. They should play the clip here. There and surely some men and women who could use the tips.
Women in Morocco need to be armed. A tough guy man who beat up a woman is a weeny and needs to be beaten to a pulp. The friggin Imams who promote this need to be beaten to death.
More violence isn’t a good solution to existing violence. Maybe such men need humanitarian surgical removal of body parts related to the violence, with anesthesia, of course.
