Michigan Man Sentenced In Cranking Fetish Case

22648456-mmmainJust when you thought you had heard of everything . . .  In Saginaw, Michigan Jordan Haskins, 26, has been sentenced to five years probation and sex offender treatment for “cranking” — a sexual fetish where men engage in rough pedal pumping, a type of foot fetishism characterized by an interest in looking at feet pumping the pedals.

Haskins was charged with eight different felonies related to two separate incidents in 2017.  He has been previously arrested for cranking where a person removes a car’s spark plug wires to make the vehicle run roughly to help reach sexual self-gratification.

Notably, however, he will not have to register as a sex offender since the victim was a car.

He is not the first person to have a vehicular victim in a sex crime, as we have previously discussed.

Haskins’ attorney, James Hession said in an interview, “He’s a good person, he has a lot of aspirations for the future, he’s highly intelligent. However, he’s had some problems with compulsive conduct which gave rise to these charges.”

  1. Frankly, neither this blog post nor the linked story provided enough information for me to figure out exactly how this caper was supposed to work or what specifically he was trying to accomplish.

  2. I’ll take famous movie quotes and the characters respinsible for said quotes for $1,000, Alex–

Okay, here we go. . .

    This is a Daily Double–

FAT, DRUNK AND STUPID IS NO WAY TO GO THROUGH LIFE, SON.

Answer: Who was Dean Vernonia Wormer from Animal House?

    Ding, ding, ding, ding ding.

    Correct.

  3. Some might argue this is a lifestyle choice, but I’m betting there could be “scientific” evidence suggesting he was born with this condition. Thus we should oppose the clear oppression and violation of basic civil rights.

    1. warspite2 – I think this alleged fetish actually falls under the LGBTW banner. W stands for whatever. I do not think that in this day and age fetishes exist any more. This is a life-style choice and they should leave him and his cars alone.

  4. This is the Michigan Taliban at work here. There are radicalized christian fundamentalists who try to make their bones on cases like this. Then they go to their wives at home, then to their girlfriends in apartments on the other side of town. All the while collecting money for the next step up in politics.

  5. So he watches bicyclists feet? And then listens to his car’s engine running “roughly?” Anyway you look at it, it seems a shame that this man has been “outed” for his lonely, harmless fixation. I get that he may have damaged property, but “sex offender treatment?” His life will never be the same. He’s probably just depressed and anxious. Not that I don’t enjoy a comical pervert story, but still . . .

    1. Debbie w/ a witty comment earlier and now w/ a substantive gem. Keep them coming, Debbie. Well, as it were.

  6. Totally confused on this one.
    First, what is the thrill?
    Second, what is the crime?

  7. Roscoe, Thanks for the info. Being a libertarian, the “to each his own” philosophy applies here.

    1. Hey man if someone gets off to the sound of smashing cockroaches underneath their shoes. . .

One of my favorite sayings goes kinda like this:
“There is nothing wrong with finding extreme pleasure as long as you are careful about what thrills you”

  8. Ok here ya go:
Susan Block, PhD, a featured sexologist on HBO’s Real Sex and Cathouse, explained “the basic kinetic movement is a masturbatory motion: the muscles releasing and contracting as the foot rubs repetitively against a phallic symbol, which is the gas pedal. Men think of themselves as cars. The ‘vroom’ of the engine reminds them of their own libidos being revved up by this hot woman.”

    1. Roscoe Coltrane – thanks for the explanation. Now, how does it get classified as a fetish. Today, everything is supposed to sexually acceptable. 😉

  9. I am confused about this. Did this guy like to repeatedly push down and release the gas pedal? I can see where that would be very dangerous in traffic. Not good for the car’s engine, either.

Just to make my morning complete: I followed the link to Foot Fetish (Wiki) and learned that Elvis was a foot fetishist. “You Ain’t Nothin’ But A Hound Dog” indeed !

  10. He was being sentenced for two separate incidents. The first, in November 2016, involved him damaging a county-owned vehicle – I don’t believe that self-gratification was an element of the charged crime, though it seems to have been the motive. In the second offense, he went joyriding with several cars from a car dealership. When arrested, he was driving another stolen vehicle.

  11. I am with Sam. I still have not figured out what how the actual offense was accomplished.

  12. I assume this foot action gave him some type of pleasure. In a society fighting the LGBTQ (don’t ask me about the Q, I have no idea) issues we add another “preference”. Me, I’ll stick to a roll in the hay!

  13. OK, this is very weird. But what did this dude do to get arrested? Weird itself is not illegal, so he must have done something I didn’t catch in the article. Was he exposed in public or something? I at this point don’t get why he was arrested.

Where are the ‘fetish police’ when a few gay pride marchers do all kinds of stuff in public.

    Thanks.
