Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has shocked the world with his blood-soaked reign including his orders to police to murder drug suspects and his bragging about his own murders. Thousands of suspected drug dealers have been killed under Duterte. Duterte has mocked those who object to the extrajudicial murders, including teenagers found dead. Now Duterte is telling police to kill his son (who has been implicated in drugs and corruption) is he is found to be involved in the drug trade.
Media reported that Duterte told his 42-year-old son that he would stand by and watch him murdered like all of the rest: “My orders are to kill you if you are caught, and I will protect the police who kill you.” Of course, unlike the thousands murdered under Duterte without a charge or trial, it is doubtful that his son would be so causally dispatched by Duterte’s police hit squads. He finished with his signature rambling: “That’s better … so I can say to the people: ‘There, you keep talking. That’s my son’s corpse.”
The very idea that this man is the head of a major nation, let alone an ally of the United States and someone President Donald Trump called“a good man”, shocks the conscience. It really does not help to say that you carry out extrajudicial murders in your own family as well as society.
Duterte remains popular with many Filipinos but he has appealed to the darkest impulses of the population, including heaping praise on the Ferdinand Marcos who murdered thousands and stole billions in the country.

Evolution is slow, the elite keep pushing their world view and not having to live with the consequences – this has never worked throughout history, not without a fight or war.

We don’t even know how many other such extra-judicial murders POTUS has ordered, names which appear on POTUS’ secret kill list.
Taken on face value, Turley’s problem with Duterte is solely the magnitude of this cold blooded extra-judicial murders. If Duterte simply kept his murders secret, or the number was lower, another subject would catch Turley’s attention.
That makes me sad.
I’d also like Turley to turn his attention to the 60 million unborn Americans legally murdered in abortions since Roe V. Wade. A zygote is a one-celled human being, sharing all the traits that make anyone reading this human.

Fair is fair. People were complaining about his son, now he is willing to execute his son. What is the problem?
Sooo, Duterte would be a better man, if he pretended that he was going to solve the drug problem one dealer at a time in a courtroom setting? Hogwash. The only sensible way to deal with the drug epidemic is to start killing drug dealers left and right.
“Due process” is what you get to have under normal circumstances, in a civilized society. But every civilized society had to go thru a birthing process where a strong man, a king, or an emperor established order by killing those who would not play by the rules. Remember the “Wanted: Dead or Alive” posters of our West. The ancient civilizations came about when kings established order, and killed those who preyed on the trade routes, for example. They also established laws that were nominally fair to its subjects.citizens.
After that, civilizations flourished. But civilizations can also devolve. Organized groups can come together to defeat the purposes of the law. And when they do people will suffer. Drug addicts will steal to do their thing, and kill if necessary. At the very least, the rest of the working society will have to support the addict. The courts and police will be corrupted by the money. And the numbers of people involved will be large, and will grow.
I submit that situation calls for the same harsh measures that it took to create civilizations in the first place. Comply with the laws, or be killed. Trials be damned. There isn’t the time or the resources to handle the process one person at a time. There aren’t resources to lock up millions of people in some of these other countries. The choice is simple. Play the game the way it has been played, or have the guts to do what needs to be done to save your civilization..
I salute Duterte, and think his approach will start to be copied in more countries as time goes on, because it is the only approach that will work. Theoretically, I think his approach is justified because it makes no sense to treat criminal organizations as if they were individual criminals. Take out one or two and put them in jail, and they are easily replaced. The entire cancer needs to be cut out.
