Democratic Member Seeks New Impeachment Vote Based On Trump’s Alleged “Shithole” Comment

Al_Green_OfficialI have previously written about the endless calls for impeachment from Democratic members for everything from Trump criticizing NFL players to comments made about protesters. The Framers saw the great abuses caused not only by tyranny of nobility, but tyranny of the majority. They sought to insulate our government from the transient impulses of politics. The danger has been repeatedly shown by members who see virtually any act or comment by Donald Trump as a case for impeachment. The latest such example comes from Texas Representative Al Green, who declared that Trump’s alleged reference to “shithole countries” is sufficient grounds for impeachment. The last time I checked, pottymouth was not included in Article II with “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

Green pledged new articles of impeachment, including new counts based on “how the president’s hateful comments can impact policy.”
He vowed to continue to add such impeachment counts: “I plan to do this as long as the president continues to make bigoted statements that are harmful to American society.”
Articles of impeachment are not supposed to be a running list of gripes against a president.  If offensive language were a basis for impeachment, presidents from Andrew Jackson to Lyndon Baines Johnson would not have seen the second week in office.

  1. The Dems are as Telemachus as they come and bristle at any suggestion of martial vigor in the conduct of affairs of state. They are our feminine side seeking their notions of compassion and justice even as we remind them of the violent struggle every civilization often becomes. Maybe we can be Ulysses again and not yield:

This is my son, mine own Telemachus,
To whom I leave the scepter and the isle,
Well-loved of me, discerning to fulfill
This labor, by slow prudence to make mild
A rugged people, and through soft degrees
Subdue them to the useful and the good.
Most blameless is he, centered in the sphere
Of common duties, decent not to fail
In offices of tenderness, and pay

    (…)

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

  2. Let’s hear it for Trump who scores another one. The “Schumer Shithole Shutdown” Shut down! Many radical Democrats now feel their party is a shithole.

    1. If it is a high crime or misdemeanor to call another country out for being what it is, then virtually every President past and former ought to be impeached as well. Let’s start with Obama who used the exact same language to describe Libya.

    1. I agree. If that memo says what we expect that it says then Watergate will look like a walk in the park compared with what the DNC and Obama administration tried to pull off.

  3. Start at the bottom with recalls where they exist or initatives and shut down the left.

    1. Guy not gettin recalled. If you are da organizer of da recalls MAGA is a bunch of fools.

  4. While I most definitely prefer civility:

“I would rather hear a man speak as a man without fear of the Nurse Ratcheds in the press and the academy than have him neutered and gagged by a system of good manners that has been misused as a form of oppression. Better impoliteness than silence. Better crudeness than lies.”

    1. A research study concludes People who use profanity tend to be more honest:

      An excerpt:

      Conclusion

We set out to provide an empirical answer to competing views regarding the relationship between profanity and honesty. In three studies, at both the individual and society level, we found that a higher rate of profanity use was associated with more honesty. This research makes several important contributions by taking a first step to examine profanity and honesty enacted in naturalistic settings, using large samples, and extending findings from the individual level to a look at the implications for society.

      1. Darren,
That was very interesting. I found it particularly interesting that there was effectively no discussion about the outlier of Iowa. Iowa scored very high on the integrity scale (an 87, same as NJ, and one point higher than CT) yet had a full 10 points lower on the profanity scale. That is a significant difference and should warrant more investigation.

The study also noted that the dishonesty studied was the self-promoting sort to make oneself more appealing to others–not blunt dishonesty or immoral behavior. They also did not want people to think that a high degree of profanity was associated with a lower likelihood a person would engage in serious unethical or immoral conduct.

        Thank you for sharing!

    2. Nice post and article, PR. Andrew Klavan’s article is, at its core, a more artful explication of what I say on these message boards frequently: the left HATES facts, evidence, and the truth. I appreciate his elegant metaphor using characters from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Randle Patrick McMurphy and Nurse Ratched, as emblems of the public and the left, respectively.

Unfortunately, such a well conceived and crafted article as his isn’t going to be read by the people who most need to read it, once they manage to read the first paragraph. At that point, their minds shut down and they will quickly dismiss Klavan as a racist.

But I thank you, PR, for posting the link to the article. I always appreciate good, thoughtful writing.

  5. There is a silver lining in this impeachment drive. At least these members will be so distracted by this fool’s errand, they will have less time to craft legislation against the American public.

    1. God bless Germany as they had the good sense to outlaw their version of the DNC after WW2. Perhaps in a generation when we come to our senses, we will outlaw the Democrat Party and their Jack Ass mascot will convey the same message NDSP’s Swastika once did.

      1. Read the Constitution, nitwit.

This is to “I skipped government class in junior high” andie

        1. I’ll say it again, Germany after WW2 had the good sense to outlaw their Jack Ass Party – perhaps someday we’ll do the same with ours. Now go read your Constitution nitwit.

  6. No POTUS can be impeached for saying shit hole or Obama would have been Impeached for saying shit show! This is the most rediculous thing I’ve seen all day. How did this guy get elected lol POTUS has to break our law to be able to be impeached. No law against making the left cry & whine for a year 😂

  7. No POTUS can be impeached for saying shit hole or Obama would have been Impeached for saying shit show! This is the most rediculous thing I’ve seen all day. How did this guy get elected lol

  8. Truth hurts . However ,he and Congressional; others should go out and find a real job where you do have to work.

  9. Reblogged this on The Inquiring Mind and commented:
The consequence of actions such as Green’s is to inure people to the whole issue of impeachment and thus make impeachment more unlikely, unless some new scandal of massive proportions breaks.

  10. Ken Doll is obsessed with women in relation to Trump – “sex with hookers, porn stars, sex outside of marriage, plastic surgery, spankings, etc.”

You DO know you can rent your own hooker right? that way we won’t be subjected to your sour musings and outright envy. And way less expensive than the long term therapy you would need to come to terms with your own failings (real or perceived)

  11. Judging by the photo, I’m gonna take a wild guess that this guy is distinctly not within the realm of intent of the American Founders, three times iterated.

    To wit,

    Naturalization Acts of 1790, 1795 and 1802

United States Congress, “An act to establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization” (March 26, 1790).

“Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That any Alien being a free white person,…”

Talk about post-Constitutional America! It is long past time for a “whitelash” or as it was so aptly framed after Pearl Harbor:

      NEWSFLASH –

ITALIANS TO BE MINORITY IN ITALY

“The Incredible Shrinking Population: By 2080, Italians Will Be A Minority In Their Own Nation”

Though the official data shows that Italy’s population was growing until 2015 and according to a Eurostat projection it will stabilize within the next decades, the number of indigenous citizens is shrinking with an astonishing pace: every year by a quarter of a million, and this decline will accelerate. That means that the projected demographic growth can only be achieved by mass migration from Africa and Central Asia. Currently most migrants in Italy are from Romania but that number is declining rapidly. There will be less and less migration from other European countries because all European nations are in a dramatic demographic decline and because due to the prolonged Italian economic crisis the country is not a prime destination for people from other European states.

If the official Eurostat forecast is correct, then within 60 years or, taking into consideration the current pace of migration even sooner, 50% of Italy’s inhabitants will be of African or Asian descent. The figures found by our demographic-research team are by far not unique and government statisticians have the same numbers. Not only are the Italian and European authorities fully aware of this, but they seem to be executing a re-population program on such a monumental scale that will dwarf the Swedish mass migration experiment.

The Italian fertility rate (of indigenous and naturalized female citizens), i.e. the number of children per woman, is 1.34, which is far below the replacement level of 2.1.

    2. Be sure and take a casserole to the Klavern meeting this weekend. They’re fitting new pillowcases.

  12. I am very concerned about the left wing abandoning norms of privacy to achieve their strident goals (oft unstated). A meeting in the Oval Office to negotiate legislative strategy is a private zone. Sen. Durbin
violated the privacy norm, so that he could demean the President, and eschew hammering out a deal on border security/DACA/green cards. I wonder where “embarassing the country” figured into his decision?

  13. How much has this cost tax payers? This is a lot of Bulls–t. By the way, how is s—hole different from hellhole? Both are in the dictionary!

    1. Because it wasn’t a drunk guy at the next barstool, fool. This was the President of the United States; he speaks for all of us, not just you close-minded, spiteful, frightened, timid, scared and gullible rubes who mistakenly voted for him. Most of us are aware that the President is the face of the country; and should conduct himself accordingly. But if you’re happy sounding like an ignorant hillbilly, by all means get after it; you speak only for yourself.

this is to “what kinda claptrap can I make up to absolve president moron” LC

      2. Why are you talking about Obama that way? After all, he said EXACTLY this same think Trump said. And if those countries are not ***holes then why is it inhumane to send illegals BACK to them?

  14. “Far from content living his golden years on the $400,000 speech and lecture circuit of other former presidents, President Obama has been busy with clawing back for his old power. He’s actually covertly plotting to oust his democratically elected successor, President Trump, vowing to his associates to “rip him a new one,” in the 2018 midterm elections. Seems he’s not all that interested in watching his youngest daughter grow up.

That’s the word from DCWhispers, which reports that Obama’s Kalorama mansion, in the heart of the capital’s most tony district, is the center of significant comings and goings among the Obamatons, who, led by his consigliere, Valerie Jarrett, are busily raising funds for the project, as Obama eggs them on.”
    ——–
“Obama mocked Trump at a press correspondent’s dinner and Trump refused to go along with the then-president’s kingly jokes – at that time, the press toadies were saying ‘Obama ripped Trump a new one,’ which is the dynamic we see now. Trump, refusing to humor Obama by laughing at his jokes, instead ran for president in the aftermath … and won. That has to burn Obama, who must remember the incident and how it triggered his successor, and now he is bitterly plotting his revenge.

It’s tinhorn dictator stuff and it needs to be called out.”

    1. Blacks in Chicago not stupid. Demanding Obama put in writing a community benefits agreement to ensure they are not pushed out of their neighborhood. These folks have learned to distrust lyin’ pols and since they are black too no one can scream racism.

““We cannot take the president’s word on the fact that they’re not gonna push African-Americans out with the Obama Presidential Center. There is no history that says their word is worth anything,” Brown said.

“What we need is an in-writing community benefits agreement that says that people who live in those communities will benefit — not in a profiteering way, but jobs, investment in neighborhood elementary schools, transportation infrastructure. That is not a lot to ask. In the case of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, it kept people in their communities.”

      1. Hi PaulCS!!! I ordered something, a DVD, that you might be interested in. It is called “Television Under The Swastika.” Did you know the Krauts had TV more than ten years before us??? The 1936 Olympics were shown on German TV.

You could have knocked me over with a feather!

        1. Squeeky – I knew TV was that early but did not know that they used it at the Olympics. Let me know what you think.

        2. I don’t think the Germans had TV before America. The first real television was invented by Philo Farnsworth. (I think there used to be a popular brand of TV named after him, called Philco.) And the first televisions in America were built in 1928 before the motion picture industry was even able to commercialize synchronized sound movies. In any event, I’m sure that those German TVs were constantly breaking down, were overly complex, difficult to repair, and required prohibitively expensive replacement parts–characteristics that many people still love today, as they speak with deep reverence about the vaunted “German engineering.”

  15. Nothing more than grandstanding for his voters who don’t expect anything more than symbolism. Don’t ask this guy to get the roads paved; he’s busy resubmitting “articles of impeachment” that he knows aren’t going anywhere. This guy symbolizes the inherent distinction between Trump voters and Hillary voters. Trump voters wanted someone who would actually do something – create jobs, rebuild the infrastructure and so forth. Hillary voters are content with some windbag who does nothing but run his mouth and pocket a fat government salary.

    1. Amen!

I wonder when the stupid blacks who vote for Democrats are going to wake up and realize that people like Green and Maxine Waters are Democrats first, and black somewhere way down the list. Green and Waters are the same kind of black who sold other blacks into slavery, and laughed all the way to the bank with their shiny new beads, blankets, and iron spear heads.

Maybe a few are starting to see it, particularly with the illegal immigration issue:

“In another video, a woman identified as Chanell Temple in the L.A. Times screams into a megaphone outside the event, “you have destroyed the black community! You are a black racist, you hate blacks! All the jobs went to illegals! You gave our jobs to illegals!”

“We want you out. You’re paying with taxpayer’s money and you’re giving jobs to illegals!” she continued.

I think maybe the video was removed from Youtube???

    2. Haha. Rich. Trump voters didn’t really know what they wanted. There’s an old saying: “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” Trump saw that the gullible rubes and hicks were eating up the birther nonsense and saw an opportunity for the big con. Being wistful for the “good ole days” isn’t quite the recipe for a demographic that is likely to succeed in the here and now.

this is to “Merica was a better place when those people weren’t so uppity” tinny

      1. Marky Mark Mark – six ad hominems in a row. Even for you that has to be close to a new record. No new thoughts though.
