A leading Muslim cleric in India has issued a decree barring females from attending soccer matches. Why? Mufti Athar Kasmi, head of a strict Indian seminary, has declared that the exposed knees of players is an unIslamic influence on females.
Kasmi is taking this position just as the Saudis have finally allowed females to watch matches.
Kasmi reminds many of the extremist views found in many religions. He and his followers want to prevent the dire moral risk of women seeing men “playing with bare knees.”
Like many extremists, Kasmi appears clueless in uttering nonsense like this: “Why do women need to watch these football matches? What they will gain by looking at footballer’s thighs? Their attention will be on that only and they will even miss the scores.”

John Goldman, an executive on the Washington D.C. Charter School Board (privatizes public schools), uses the alias, Jack Murphy, for internet comments. He’s rightfully being reviewed, given his position of public trust, for alleged views that patriarchy and male supremacy should rule the day. Media has written about the story.
If private enterprise wants people expressing discriminatory views, to pick up company paychecks, that’s up to them.
Posts like Turley’s about a cleric in another country, has one puzzled why American men in positions of authority get a pass for similar views.
Turley patronizes a cleric for denying women access to soccer but, he says nothing about a speaker at the Trump/GOP convention who had formerly said that it was an oxymoron for women to have the right to vote in a capitalistic democracy. (The quote was Peter Thiel’s, who serves on the Facebook board with Marc Andreesen, who said India was better off under colonialism. Facebook did nothing to prevent Russian tampering in the election, because the $ mattered most.)
Where’s Turley’s condescension of Thiel and Andreesen?
Why would a Mufti have any influence? I thought the reason Pakistan was created was so they could live in their own state (Pakistan). Yet another example of allowing religion to interfere with citizens’ lives. I hope enough women over there ignore this closeted man and attend games en masse IN SHORTS!
The difficulty is that the Qu’ran is quite clear about women being half as intelligent as a man. Muhammed is quoted as telling women they are deficient in their intelligence and deficient in their religion.

He said, “This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn’t it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?” The women replied in the affirmative. There is a reason why majority Islamist nations have an unhealthy obsessions with women’s thoughts, behavior, dress, and sexuality. They are commanded so.
Westernized Muslims are reformers, in a sense. They follow the peaceful parts of the religion, and ignore the part that pertained to it being a religion of war. If they were in most parts of the ME, they would be accused of apostasy. And yet, I have known women who would bundle up to pray, and felt relaxed and peaceful afterwards, as they went on about their day unveiled and free.
All faiths go through reformation, and abuses get rooted out. Islam is no different. There are many Muslims interacting quite peacefully with other religions, other views, and they go on about their day just fine. It doesn’t matter that Mohammad was a warlord who was conveniently granted more wives and sex slaves than his followers. There are Western Muslim women who do not veil, or who just wear a loose hijab. Islam does not have to be the faith of subjugation of women, of anti-semitism, slavery, and of death to apostates and gays. So much is about harming others to get what you want. They don’t have to live this way. Plenty of Muslims in the West do not live this way.
Reform and be at peace.

That is just a ritual, silly goose. Nobody really believes in transmogrification, even the Priests. It’s like the rituals that non-Christians and Atheists go through in life.

Methinks it’s the cleric who is turned on by hairy knees!
Muslims do not have balls and need not play or watch soccer.
Instead of barring people from raping, vandalizing, domestic abuse and other serious problems, clerics are barring women’s progress. South Asia needs to sort out its priorities if the region ever wants to develop. It’s a cruel reality here.
They really need to find somethingto do with too much time on their hands and their brain spring wound down.

Why have an article about Muslims. Muslims are the most extreme form of Leftists, which means that they are the natural enemies of all decent, intelligent people. Muslims HAVE to try to impose their barbaric, insidious, vile cult on everyone else. What sane person would have ANY interest in Islam otherwise?
Muslim extremists are “rightists”. If they were left they would coddle up the China. But hate groups can be without a right or left aspect.
So let me get this straight:
Humans spent millions of years crawling to the top of the food chain by evolving a set of legs into much more useful arms, complete with dextrous hands including opposable thumbs for grasping, setting us apart from 99.9% of the rest of the flora and fauna, and someone creates a stupid game in which they cannot be used?
