We recently discussed an arrest that was made using the sketch of a homeless victim. In Pennsylvania, a witness drew the sketch above and it was circulated by police. While ridiculed by many, it led to the arrest of Hunt Phuoc Nguyen, 44, by Lancaster City Police.
The suspect was described as Asian or South American and around 5 feet 4 inches tall. He was also believed to be between 30 to 40 years of age with black hair and wide cheekbones.
The sketch reminded an investigator of a potential suspect. When the picture of the suspect was used in a photo line up, the victim of the theft picked out Nguyen.
Wait, the homeless man told them he sketched an Asian person, so police recognized Hunt Phuoc Nguyen. But the photo does not look like an Asian man at all.

I know! I wonder what it is that he saw? There must be some rational explanation. I wonder if it is something unique to San Francisco??? Do they have Daleks in San Francisco? Or robots??? I believe the Homeless Guy really saw this.

The San Francisco SPCA, a non-profit whose mission is “to save and protect animals … and enhance the human-animal bond,” is reportedly doing just the opposite with its latest robot security guard.
It is terrifying homeless people that hang out near the SPCA building in the Mission section of the city, which was part of its objective, but it is freaking out residents as well.
According to San Francisco Business Times, the robot ─ dubbed K9 ─ was put into place to try and deal with the number of needles, car break-ins and other crimes that have reportedly come from a nearby encampment of homeless people.

The perp appears to be part Vietnamese and part Caucasian. Give the homeless guy a job as a police sketch artist.
He draws better than I do. 😉 I would have the police looking for a stick figure.
Brilliant rendering! Hard to tell which is the drawing and which is the photograph. Anyway, the artist nailed it with the eyes and the hair.

I know, right? That guy doesn’t look like a Vietnamese guy, like a Nguyen would be. I don’t get it.
The homeless guy said the perp was 5’4” and either Asian or South American with black hair. Any male who is only 5’4”, has wide cheekbones and black hair is going to be some variant of Asian extraction. That could be someone of Mongolian blood (American Indian or Hispanic) or someone of Asian or mixed Asian ancestry. This guy has some Caucasian blood, as evidenced by his coloring, but his body type is Asian and that is what the homeless guy recognized. Anyone who has been to Vietnam would recognize this guy as an Anglo/Asian mutt, a byproduct of the war.
