Duterte Tells Soldiers To Shoot Female Rebels In Their Genitals

rodrigo_duterte_and_laotian_president_bounnhang_vorachith_croppedPhilippine President Rodrigo Duterte has shocked the world with his blood-soaked reign including his  orders to police to murder drug suspects and his bragging about his own murders.  Thousands of suspected drug dealers have been killed under Duterte.  Duterte has mocked those who object to the extrajudicial murders, including teenagers found dead.  Now Duterte has found a way to shock the world again after telling soldiers to  shoot female rebels in their genitals.   Many of us were alarmed by President Donald Trump’s praise of Duterte as “a good man” and praising his crackdown on drugs.  Duterte however shows no ability to control himself any more than his son (who has been implicated in drugs and corruption) or his henchman  . . . or his mouth. However, this not just some clown in office. Duterte is actively encouraging extrajudicial murders as a policy of this close allied nation.

Addressing a group of former communist rebels this month, Duterte declared “Tell the soldiers. There’s a new order coming from the mayor. We won’t kill you. We will just shoot your vagina.  He added “If there is no vagina, it would be useless.”

In so doing, Duterte was able to combine murder, sexism, and insanity — the signature hallmarks of his authoritarian reign.

It is becoming increasing intolerable for the United States to consider this government an ally or support its military. At least China and Iran deny their human rights violations. Duterte proudly proclaims his murderous policies.

      1. JackW – you have a choice, you do not want to be shot in the vagina? You give up drugs and drug dealing. Same thing they did in the West to stop cattle rustling. Justice was swift and sure. There were no courts.

          1. David Benson – I know you went to CalTech, but Judge Roy Bean is from Texas, which at best is all by itself, it was a Republic. Arizona is part of the Southwest. I think you live in the Pacific West. I grew up in the real West, about 100 miles from the Little Bighorn Battlefield.

    If he doesn’t understand that no matter what someone did, you don’t shoot them in the lady parts, then I can’t explain it to him.

    Due process. Limited government. Robust individual rights. All would prevent these sorts of abuses.

    And yet, which way are people agitating? They are pushing to have Big Government and limited individual rights.

    1. I love art. You all know how I feel about Obamacare, and yet, every President and First Lady deserve to have their time in the White House memorialized with a masterpiece painting in the Gallery.

      Obama chose an artist who paints rich guys into copied masterpieces, very nouveau riche. The ones I saw were very powerful poses, like the one of Ice-T.

      This portrait looks like Obama got caught spying on his neighbor in the hedge…with an extra finger on his freakishly huge left hand. I get the symbolism of the 3 flowers. He’s stiffly sitting in a misshapen chair in a hedge.

      Michelle Obama’s portrait is no better. She has beautiful, glowing skin and an athletic physique. Her portrait looks like it was painted of a completely different, depressed lady, in washed out grey tones. Her arms don’t have her trademark fitness. Her skin tone doesn’t come through. Not only is her face unrecognizable, but the image looks faded, sad, washed out, like she’s faded into the background wearing a party dress.

      Neither painting look avant guard, merely a new school of mastery. They just look bad.

      How were the painters chosen? No one can say, looking at the works, that this pair are the best artists in the entire country.

        Figures Obama would end his Presidency by memorializing it with the art of an openly racist painter. So disappointing. Art is one of the few things that can bring people together. What a waste of an opportunity.

        The author goes on to describe the frustrations of a Japanese artist friend of his:

He described an artist friend of his whose assistants (a disgustingly common practice these days among “artists” who’ve made it) are primarily composed of white girls, but when any sort of New York art media or coverage enters his studio for a profile, his assistants quickly change race and gender: “My friend was working in his studio. There were many white girls in his studio. But when shooting for magazine or film came to his studio, he hides white assistants and showed only Latino boy assistants. He knows how to show himself on media.””

        Also, it is obvious that the leaf pattern is repeated…literally. The same branch is used over and over again, identically.

        He literally uses Chinese laborers in China to paint much of his paintings, such as the repeating leaves. That’s not even his own work.

      3. Karen S – I think the artists were chosen by the Obamas. Barack’s is too busy for an official portrait. And even if you add the symbolism of the flowers, it is a little strange. Michelle’s just doesn’t look like her. Is it how Michelle sees herself? Certainly, the rest of us do not see her that way.

        1. The flowers in Barry’s pic supposedly represent Kenya, Hawaii, and Chicago. Not sure why they left out Indonesia, where he developed his admiration for Islam.

          1. FFS – my understanding is the artist has a Chinese studio where all the background is done, by graduates of the Famous Artists school of painting. Some of his other stuff is a rip-off of Caravaggio or Gentilihi (sp) but not as well done. Where whites were doing the killing he has blacks and then he has white victims. Supposedly, this shows a shift in the power balance.

                  She had a very difficult life. The victim of rape, her calls for help ignored by her only female friend, hoping to marry her rapist in order to restore her honor, and when she testified against him, they used thumbscrews on her to verify her testimony.

                  I imagine her works are indeed saturated with emotion and meaning.

          This was a portrait? How could they screw this up? At least Michelle’s artist was just bad; she doesn’t paint racist murder like Barrack’s.

          1. Karen S – again, he threw the white side of his family under the bus in the symbolism of the painting. We have his father, but even that is kind of screwed up since he is stepping on a flower from Africa, but is not from Kenya.

  9. Well, I still think Duterte is just a few steps ahead of the rest of the world. The only way to deal with druggies is to kill them. Period. Rehab is a waste of time, and the longer the drug dealers are allowed to prey upon people, the more death and destruction they will mete out.

    And you aren’t going to get rid of organized criminal gangs by treating them like lone offenders thru the criminal justice system. That is absurd. That would be like setting your Army out to capture soldiers on the other side, and then trying them in Court. Totally barmy idea!

    As far as shooting female rebels, so what??? Has anybody here bothered to look up what the Commie Rebels in the Phillipines are up to??? How about:

The people who cheer lead this also seem to be far outside the cross hairs as well. There was plenty of citizen bloodbaths in ancient Rome but their historians recognized it as depravity

  11. There will always be problems. It’s how one works on them that differentiates between social evolution and social regression. The knee jerk solutions such as is seen in the Philippines and heard from Trump lie on one side of the equation. Trump pardons a sheriff that was charged and convicted for persecuting Hispanics as part of his solution to the problem of illegal immigration. On a scale of one to ten this may be at the lower end. Duterte is at the other extreme. However, they are both on the same simplistic side of how to deal with society’s problems. Duterte was not a big fan of Obama and that administration. Trump and Duterte exchange ‘attaboys’.

    Review some of the many instances of police brutality and killing in the US and place the way we deal with that; some of the ‘legal’ follow ups are next to laughable or perhaps Duterteable. America’s attitude and direction is predominantly similar with the rest of the more advanced nations of the world. For much of history America spearheaded the move in the right direction while lagging behind and clinging to that which it later found repulsive. The cracks in our evolutionary foundation should not be allowed to widen. The knee jerk responses to that never ending series of social problems must be held as signs of the direction in which Duterte has taken. America needs to move over to the other side of the equation and to stop pandering to the ilk that is found in this country as well as other countries such as the Philippines.

    The US needs to take a stand against the tyrants such as Duterte and Erdogan. We can still be allies but that does not mean that we need to overlook or even support that side of the equation. It seems that Trump hasn’t got a pair either.

      Weird things happen when alien cultures observe each other. Sometimes, the report is true, but I’ve seen the press get it totally wrong too many times. He seems, from the reporting since we learned of his existence, to be nutty, so we assume the worst. But then, the press has fallen in love with the most insane, inhuman regime on Earth (North Korea) in recent days. Don’t trust reporting, is the takeaway.

      1. Why bother? The media are stupid, and lie all the time, in cases like this. It’s best to be skeptical, and wait. Soon enough, researchers will deliver the inevitable truth, and skepticism almost always proves right.

Let’s see if computer can be designed to do a better job of managing humanity than humans can. Yes computer programs are designed and managed by humans, but nevertheless, might be able to do a much better job of leading, than humans have done.

      1. billmcwilliams – I read an article in the Atlantic where AA was supposed 3-5% successful. Duterte is more successful than that. Drug abusers have a tendency to overdose and die, he gives them another option. Clean up your act or die.

  20. Queston. People from Philllipine have long held special privileges with the USA . Especially when it comes to immigration and citizenshp and green cards and jobs. This stems back to WWII and before. Prevalent in the Merchant Marine such as we have left the entire work force withi some Mauritians thrown in at Diego Garcia to name a few.

    Does it still continue as national policy? Yes or No?
