Can You Guess What This Person Was Charged With?

1537029612098Let’s just put it this way: Matthew McCloskey, 52, makes the guy with the electric fence at the bus stop look kid friendly.

McCloskey was arrested after a video showed him driving onto to a sidewalk to illegally pass a school bus that was loading children in Ballwin, Mo.

He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license and violation of a school bus stop, police said.

According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, McCloskey claims that his brakes failed and that he “did a pretty good job of not killing anyone.”

However, he clearly could not support the claim with the police. It would seem an easy thing to prove with a towing record or mechanic’s bill.  It is also not clear why he did not stop or return.  Finally, the break problem would have had to occur right at that moment or it would be strange that he did not have an earlier incident or come to an earlier stop to seek repairs.

McCloskey has a criminal record including attempted rape, failure to register as a sex offender and drug charges.

  1. Liar, sexual predator, and pervert, disregard for the law, druggie…….yep, he’s qualified to run for Congress, most likely as a Democrat…….but it could go either way.

I.e. his general disposition toward life and its rules is ‘f**k you’. These people are a malignancy. You can’t do too much with them but fire them and have security escort them off the premises.

  3. If he was late for work, I don’t blame him. There’s a certain amount of effrontery incorporated into driving on someone’s lawn, though he didn’t injure the lawns. You have to enforce the traffic laws, so he gets a penalty. Laws regarding school buses it’s a reasonable argument have not much to do with safety and a great deal to do with the mixture of cloying sentimentality and socially-sanctioned aggression which accompanies any discussion of ‘kids’ or ‘The Children’ (or, sometimes ‘the disadvantaged’).

  4. Interestingly, perhaps it was fortunate for the prosecution that there was a sidewalk/right-of-way where he went past the bus, else the unlawful bus passing traffic law might not have applied. Hit and run, should have either way.

  5. He might, I say might, have a defense. Being a sex offender, etc has nothing to do with his driving.

  6. When I was a teen I snuck my grandmother’s ancient 1960 Rambler out occasionally. One night several of us were driving down a very steep hill, so I was riding the brakes the whole way. Towards the bottom of the hill, the brakes gave out, which I later learned was due to overheating. But that night, I had no brakes, couldn’t stop at the stop sign, and finally came to a halt by driving the car across the sidewalk and up onto the lawn of the Lutheran Church. Fortunately it was late and nobody else was out; nobody was injured and there were no witnesses. After the brakes cooled down, they worked fine and I put it back. And I never drove it again.

  7. He just found some new dirt on Kavanaugh and he wanted to get it to Diane Feinstein.

    1. Wait until it’s happens to some woman you know & then maybe you’ll actually get it. She has suffered for life at the hands off that perv Kavanaugh. People that are like you are pretty much why victims don’t come forward.

      1. Sam Beckitt – exactly what pervy thing is he supposed to have done? And exactly to whom? And exactly when?

Thanks for adding a solid example to my claim over in the Kavanaugh piece. Come on, at least you coritsol and epinephrine-addled contributors can find something of note be all up in arms about, can’t you?

  8. Illegal construction on public property without a permit as he was over his property line plus had no permit. And no warning signs posted.
