Moore: I Think Donald Trump Could Be The Anonymous Source Calling Donald Trump Unstable And A National Danger

Filmmaker Michael Moore had a surprising suggestion in the ongoing sweepstakes over who is the anonymous author of the New York Times column suggesting that Trump is mentally unfit and rallying the resistance against him from within his Administration: Donald S. Trump.  That’s right, Moore suggested that Trump himself is the the “senior official” who is working with the paper that he often refers to as the “enemy” and “the failing New York Times.”  Moore says that it is “absolutely” possible that Trump is the author. Moore also predicted recently that Trump, who he calls an “evil genius,” will win a second term.

Moore made the suggestion after referring to Trump as “the last president of the United States”in his new documentary “Fahrenheit 11/9” and the person dismantling democracy in the country.

He was asked about whether he knew who was the author of the column with the New York Times and Moore responded

“No, but if you want me to make a wild guess, Trump wrote it or one of his minions wrote it…. He’s the master of distraction. He’s the King of the Misdirect. If we’ve ever known anything by now, it’s that he does things to get people to turn away and the line that is most identifiable in terms of what he wants the public to believe, the line that says, ‘don’t worry, adults are in the room.’ The idea is to get him to get us to calm down and look away from what he’s really doing.”

Sooooo, Trump wanted to “get us to calm down” by saying that various high-ranking officials had discussed removing Trump under the Twenty-Fifth Amendment due to his mental incapacity . . . but are trying to stick it out.  That strangely does not feel calming and it certainly did not work with the response from the media and the public.

This was not a “misdirect.” It hit Trump so hard that he has unleashed a scorched Earth campaign to find the author.  It is like Deep Throat actually being Richard Nixon because he wanted to distract people.

This bizarre theory also assumes that the New York Times would allow Trump to write a clearly misleading column in which he misrepresents his identity and his actions.

At first, I assumed that this was a joke, but media is reporting Moore as serious about the claim, including liberal outlets like the Huffington Post.

I am still hoping that Moore will say that he was delivering a joke through the use of Reductio Ad Absurdum but it is hard to discern the comically absurd from the tragically absurd in the times we are living.

  5. The weak link in Moore’s theory, is that the NY Times ostensibly knows who this person is.
    I doubt if they would have taken the article from Trump.
    It is possible I guess that is a Trump minion, but that of course still doesn’t make sense.

    Really? Where is the evidence of a ‘scorched Earth campaign’ to find the author?

    1. It won’t be as easy for Trump to get rid of Defense Secretary Mattis as it was for Trump to rid himself of Tillerson or McMaster. Mattis has deep support amongst establishment Republicans and is widely respected amongst US military leaders. Our allies in NATO won’t be pleased, either. But if Trump can create the misimpression that Mattis is the author of the Anonymous OpEd in The NYT, then Trump might manage to keep most of the Republicans from dumping Trump. So, while that’s hardly a ‘scorched Earth campaign’ to find the author, it might be an alternate explanation for Moore’s guess that Trump might have had a hand in the Anonymous OpEd in The NYT.

  8. Michael Moore also believes that Trump will be the last American president. Moore like so many lefty loons have lost their marbles following Trump’s defeat of stay-at-home candidate HRC in 2016.

        BTW, the smart money says that Maggie Haberman got The NYT version of the WaPo story from Kushner, Flynn and Kislyak, themselves, as strategically leaked damage control in keeping with a practice known as access journalism. As strange as it may seem, The NYT has been carrying water for Trump the whole way through. What otherwise appears to be a Punch and Judy Show between Trump versus The NYT is just that–a Punch and Judy Show.

        1. When did Michael Moore lead a revolution in Poland? Defeat Russia? Kill a bear? Use the bears carcass to knock down his pursuers and escape to France?

          Maybe Trump is Ubu Enchaine? The third play in Alfred Jarry’s Ubu series. And why do you spill it Ubi? It’s Ubu.

One of his later works, a novel/essay on “pataphysics”, is offered as an explanation behind the ideas that underpin Ubu Roi. Pataphysics is, as Jarry explains, “the science of the realm beyond metaphysics”. Pataphysics is a pseudo-science Jarry created to critique members of the academy. It studies the laws that “govern exceptions and will explain the universe supplementary to this one”. It is the “science of imaginary solutions”.

  11. There are technics called stylistic analysis used to determine, or suggest, authorship. An older study was used to determine the author of each of the Federalist papers.

    But in this case we can already be sure that it wasn’t The Donald. His wits are too scattered.

    1. There’s no way that Mr Trump has the aptitude to write that many complete sentences or even to think that many complete thoughts.

      1. Trump didn’t author “The Art of the Deal” either. Tony Schwartz did. OMG. Maybe Schwartz is the ghost writer of the Anonymous OpEd in The NYT.

  15. Moore did a film on which countries had the best medical support system. He quoted one of the studies which seemed to put France in the lead. That was page one. Then Moore quit reading. In the next few pages we find their oh so great result was based on counting all recovered French even if cured out side France and disregarding all expired French who died outside the country . What Moore does is partly fiction and partly distorted and twisted lies.

    One only has to look at the blimp to see how much interest he takes in good health.

    He is a mercenary for hire. and a professional leftist because it’s easier to get them to pay him big bucks. Facts have no place in his productions. .

  16. Please refrain from talking about Michael Moore and his BS. Yeah he has some film coming out. Yeah. If we want to discuss Trump we need no more of Moore.
