Broward County Recount Results Tossed For Being Filed Late By Two Minutes

Joseph D’Alessandro, Broward County’s election planning and development director simply said “Basically, I just worked my ass off for nothing.”  He explained that they just weren’t familiar with the website and had trouble uploading the results. Really?  How about having someone confirming the steps in advance and starting a tad earlier?

D’Alessandro simply said that “We uploaded to the state two minutes late so the state has chosen not to use our machine recount results.  They are going to use our first unofficial results as our second unofficial results.”

So we have spent hundreds of millions in state support and Florida has spent millions since the debacle of the Bush-Gore election . . . and so little seems to have changed in the Florida counties.

Making this all the more controversial, GOP candidate Rick Scott’s campaign has accused Snipes of intentionally missing the deadline to invalidate a count that favored his campaign.

  1. MIsmanagement? Is that what they call it? They kept unearthing caches of ballon without any explanation about why they suddenly showed up, and, inexplicably, all of those ballots went to a Democratic candidate. Those batches of ballots were counted and uploaded just fine, triggering a recount. Then, after uploading the results to the website, the same people were suddenly so unfamiliar and unprepared with the website that they were two minutes late uploading results from a manual recount that increased the Republican votes. This is the same district and the same people found guilty of destroying ballots in past elections.

    I don’t think that’s mismanagement.

Also, the state didn’t “choose” not to accept the late submission. There is no choice about it. If I missed the deadline to enroll in Obamacare during Open Enrollment by 2 minutes, the system closes, and I would have to wait a year. If I missed filing my taxes by two minutes, they are late. A legal deadline means that it cannot be arbitrarily ignored, otherwise it’s not a legal deadline. If they could bend the rules by a few minutes, why not an hour? Why not a day? Why not 2 weeks? I find a 2 minute miss very hard to believe.

There is something rotten in the county of Broward. The counties impacted by a torrential hurricane somehow had their act together and voted just fine. Time for an investigation.

  2. And only one day is allotted for voting.

And the team that’s ahead when the clock runs out wins.

And Hillary would have won were it not for that pesky Constitution.

And if my aunt had —-s, she’d be my uncle.

    Imagine. Rules.

  3. Stalin reportedly said something like, “The people who cast the votes decide nothing; the people who count the votes decide everything.” If anyone ought to know about such things, it’s Stalin. But keep in mind this is the same guy who said, “To choose one’s victim, to prepare one’s plans minutely, to slake an implacable vengeance, and then to go to bed – there is nothing sweeter in the world” and “One death is a tragedy, one million is a statistic.”

  4. Can we stop referring to this evil woman as “incompetent”???? Given that she illegally deleted the results from the DWS and Tim Canova election it is quite clear she should be in jail. Canova went to court, got a judgement against her and Scott refused to do anything. So if Gillum wins that’s on him.

    1. Anonymous – Snipes clearly knows what she is doing and she does it well. She has a Ph.D. is something, so she is not an idiot. However, she knows exactly how to game the system and where the holes in the system are. She is exploiting all the holes.

    2. Incompetence? No, even giving Snipes all benefit of the doubt. As Ian Fleming put it via his character Auric Goldfinger in the novel, “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time is enemy action.”

  5. Brenda Snipes is incompetent. When I was a kid on one Election Day this guy won an election. On Election Day he was in jail. We get the government we deserve.
