And Now The Sound Of The Martian Winds . . .

As many on this blog know, I am something of a geek and particularly love the NASA website.  Having watched the moon landing on a tiny black and white television (at another family’s house because we did not have a television), I still marvel at seeing images from space.  I found the latest posting by NASA thrilling: the actual sound of winds on Mars.

Perhaps they will call the Wind [Martian] Mariah:

  3. Ok Prof Turley & other geekers I’ll throw in my 2 cents worth.

    Best I recall from years ago there were 5 parables in the Christian Bible about Rahab the Harlot.

    Only one of those stories was about what the writer/s described as a War in the Heavens.

    Still today it makes me think of something like a mass, asteroids, etc., or something hitting Mars & causing it’s possible atmosphere to mostly be blow away.

    But the way things are currently heading on this planet it seems likely Humans are to Stupid to live long enough to move on off this speck of dirt & find out what’s really going on in the universe.

  10. It seem that the Martian winds make more noise then Trump supporters of late. Or is it the sounds of the RNC meetings? Oh, I know what that sounds like, it’s the sound that Republican donors will make in 2020.

  11. Millions of dollars spent on sending a probe to Mars to listen to the “thrilling” sound of whrrrrrrrrrrrr. You could have got a bigger bang for your buck after a dinner at a Mexican restaurant, now that would be raising two octaves!

      This is why I fear that the INSIGHT rover will eventually be driven to madness by the contant noise.
      I’ve seen it happen to a few people who post here….the constant “tick tock” that they hear has driven them over the edge.
