Man Tries To Hypnotize an Elephant . . . Elephant Crushes Man

YouTube

“You’re getting sleepy . . . ” may have been the last words of a man in the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka after he tried to hypnotize an elephant. The elephant proceeded to crush the man.

The 41-year-old man was reportedly trying to impress tourists who filmed the fatal effort. It is not clear how one hypnotizes an elephant who cannot understand English but clearly this man does not know either.

Not too surprising, some at the scene suggested that alcohol may have played a role. It is unlawful in the park to leave your vehicle. Up until now there was no need to expressly ban hypnotizing animals.

  1. “It is not clear how one hypnotizes an elephant who cannot understand English but clearly this man does not know either.”

Maybe the elephant could understand English but I think another language was being spoken.

      1. YNOT, your comments demonstrate that you can’t integrate the knowledge that is available to you. You have a brain but it is only minimally active. If you wish to prove differently let’s take a step up and debate something of significance. Apparently that is above your level because I have made this challenge many times.

  2. The dork was not a RepubliCon. Thus the elephant decided to do him in. If you speak to an elephant you should wear a Barry Goldwater For President tag on your shirt. This guy deserved to be removed from the face of the Earth.

  3. Walking with purpose, hard staring at a wild animal is an act of aggression. The elephant warned him with his body language but he kept coming. A lone elephant was probably a bull. Females would be in a herd. If the bull was in musth, then he would have been just looking for a fight. He would probably still be fighting with the man’s dead body.

Asian elephants live with tigers and hunters. It’s not Dumbo. They live in a predator prey world, and this man acted openly hostile, regardless of his intention.

I am very sorry this happened, especially because it sounds like there were kids watching. Senseless.

  4. Well, I can related to the elephant’s position as I can sometimes be a little b*tchy at meal time & there’s an uninvited guest. LOL;)
