“It’s A Good Day For You To Die”: Tennessee Man Allegedly Pulls Gun On Couple Wearing MAGA Hats

One of my favorite scenes from the comedy “The President’s Analyst” was when actor James Coburn (the overly cerebral, new-age psychiatrist) grabs an M-16 and sprays approaching lines of telephone company security guards while screaming “Take that you hostile son of a . . . ” The scene came to mind this week with the arrest of James Phillips, 57, of Cottontown, Tennessee, who reacted to a couple wearing “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats at a Sam’s Club by pulling out a gun and threatening, “It’s a good day for you to die.” That will show those unhinged MAGA people.

Phillips was shopping with his mother at the store.

Terry Pierce told WNKY that he and his wife Cherrie were shopping when Phillips allegedly flipped the bird and, when confronted, Phillips said he did it because of the “hats you’ve got on.”  He then allegedly pulled out a .40 caliber handgun and said “This is a good day for you to die.”

Terry Pierce reportedly challenged Phillips to either shoot him or fight him. Phillips however left with his mother and was followed by the Pierces. Phillips says that Terry Pierce grabbed him in the parking lot, but police say that surveillance videos confirmed Pierce’s denial of grabbing Phillips. However, Phillips was outside of the camera when he allegedly pulled the gun. Yet, in the parking lot, Phillips told Cherrie, “It’s a good day to die, bitch.”

Phillips entered a not-guilty plea in court for first-degree wanton endangerment according to WBKO.

      1. “So what?”

We should all care about these troubling incidents and trends, oh-absurd-one.

  1. The left perpetuates politically-motivated violence in this country, yet nothing happens. We see no investigation into Phillips’ connections or any suggestion that RICO be invoked against International A.N.S.W.E.R, Occupy, etc.

  2. What you get with those that hang around with violence prone war mongers. they want to grow up and be like antifa dahs and the party brown and black shirts.

  3. Phillips was shopping at a Sam’s Club in Tennessee – that is not exactly Obama country. What did he expect to see there? I <3 Kamala/ Beto/ Booker/ Warren shirts?

  4. Phillips however left with his mother and was followed by the Pierces.

Likely by the ear. And when he got home, she got out the belt and whooped him sumpthin fierce.

  5. If you are going to carry, you have to honestly assess your own temperament. If a person disagreeing with your politics enrages you, leave the weapons at home. The purpose of lawfully carrying a firearm is to protect innocent life, not a substitute for genital measurement competition

    1. “If you are going to carry, you have to honestly assess your own temperament.”

I don’t want to carry a weapon because I’m easily annoyed.

  6. On a related note as to the Left bullying Americans

Covington teen Nick Sandmann sues The Washington Post for $250M

Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post on Tuesday, accusing the newspaper of targeting him in “a modern-day form of McCarthyism.”

Attorneys for 16-year-old Sandmann — who was filmed in a viral confrontation with a Native American man in Washington, DC — claim the newspaper led a “mob of bullies which attacked, vilified & threatened” an innocent minor.

“Washington Post recklessly ignored basic journalist standards because it was eager to advance its biased agenda against @realDonaldTrump by impugning individuals perceived to be his supporters,” attorney Lin Wood said in a statement.

“Nick Sandmann was perceived as an easy target. He is 16. Inexcusable on every level.”

The Kentucky student was with his class in the nation’s capital to take part in an anti-abortion rally on Jan. 18 when he was confronted by 64-year-old Nathan Phillips.

The video set off a social media firestorm with some people insisting the incident was racially motivated and instigated by the high school students.

Many published stories about the incident, and many viral videos, had inaccurate or incomplete information.

The lawsuit claims that The Washington Post “ignored the truth and falsely accused Nicholas of, among other things, ‘accost[ing]’ Phillips by ‘suddenly swarm[ing]’ him in a ‘threaten[ing]’ and ‘physically intimidat[ing]’ manner.”

While filing the lawsuit, Sandmann’s attorney warned that “All members of the mainstream & social media mob of bullies who recklessly & viciously attacked Nick would be well-served to read it carefully.”

  7. I do find this rather odd. Not a single mainstream channel showing this story.

Wow! Better wake yo *ss up.

If the J. Smollet story was “big.” This story should have equally been “big” too. Just to make equitable (registered independent, here).

This country is in deep trouble, if person(s) are now getting “so, so offended” be expression of thoughts, ideas, or opinions.

Can’t even express yourself. Wow! Here comes Orwellian society. Oh wait, it’s already here.

  8. I just did a search on google for this news item: “James Phillips MAGA”

    https://www.google.com/search?q=James+Phillips+maga&prmd=inv&ei=3UhtXOb0GInI5gKPuJ_4Aw&start=90&sa=N&biw=1112&bih=789&dpr=2

and scrolled through 10 pages of results. only local TV stations and the usual conservative online news sites mentioned it. WaPo, NYT, CNN, MSNBC, Vox, Huff Post, et al….nothing.

The enemy of the people are the dishonest news media and paid trolls (Peter H, L4B, etc)

  9. President Trump has brought madness to the left. Thank God. May Our Lord protect our president.

I recommend everyone have a CCW for just these occasions when the momma’s boy pajama boys try to play act being men. No one wants a Dodge City gun fight but you gotta protect you and yours. Kudos to Terry and Cherrie for being strong heroes not melting victims. As for Phillips, I’d give him 20 years is a Tennessee prison away from momma’s basement. He’ll last about a week before the daily beat downs begin.

  11. Wagers he’s collecting Social Security Disability or SSI and hasn’t worked in some time. People with a long spell of unemployment in their history tend to vote Democratic.

A WhitePages search for this fellow turns up an association between him and several others, but their surnames and ages all suggests that they are his parents and his siblings. He turns up in a database called the “Public Records Index”. Entries from 1990-94 show him resident at several loci within a certain radius of Nashville.

Some people’s lives are just sad.

    ~+~
Just couldn’t hide under her apron fast enough

He needs a security blanket not a pistol.

  13. How interesting that we haven’t heard about this in the MSM. Seems that actual, politically motivated attacks against white people aren’t as special as a faked attack against a gay, black man.
Tough to be a whitey these days.

    1. The article didn’t say anything about race. They were probably white, but the main issue is that they are conservative and support President Trump.. It was a politically motivated attack against Trump supporters.
