Report: Trump Asked Cohen to Bury Revealing Pictures of Jerry Falwell Jr. Before His Endorsement

(Official White House Photo: Shealah Craighead)

There is a new report that Rev. Jerry Falwell Jr. reached out to Donald Trump in 2015 to seek his help on preventing the release of revealing photographs. Trump allegedly asked his fixer Michael Cohen to help Falwell. Cohen reportedly succeeded but, in Cohen’s signature style, Cohen reportedly kept at least one photo. Falwell would go on to offer a key endorsement of Trump before the Iowa primary.

Falwell, president of Liberty University, was reportedly described as racy “personal” photographs according to Cohen.  Cohen reportedly told actor Tom Arnold “I actually have one of the photos. It’s terrible.” It is hard to ignore the obvious glee in that statement from an attorney who kept compromising photographic evidence and now decided to dump them into the public for his own interest.

Falwell became one of Trump’s most active supporters — a key religious supporter when Trump’s affairs with a porn star and Playboy bunny were much in the news.

As usual, I am more shocked by Cohen’s conduct. Cohen was belatedly disbarred after a long career as an unethical legal thug. It is also an insight into his work with Trump. Trump poured praise on Cohen when he was threatening and bullying reporters, college students and others in his interest or the interests of his friends. It was only after Cohen flipped that Trump criticized him.

It is truly a tale without a redeeming character.

  1. Somewhere I missed the verification which is of course common with Cohen stories.

  2. What is it they say about …….Birds of a Feather………the Orange faced one and “ Falwell……do as I say
not as I do.??? chest thumping preacher..????

  3. Trump’s association with Cohen reflects very poorly upon him. These fixers have no ethics.

Cohen’s retaining of a compromising photograph is just another pig on the pile of evidence of low character and unethical behavior.

As for trying to bury embarrassing photos of Jerry Falwell, Jr, it seems no different than any number of starlets and people who are famous for nothing trying to bury their sex tapes. If anyone has an embarrassing video, photograph, personal letter, or whatever out there, they are going to try to get it back to prevent embarrassment. I don’t see any compulsion for anyone to purposely release damning information. Otherwise, public figures would have to bug their own homes and release the audio to the public so as to release every embarrassing statement or moment they ever had.

Trying to avoid embarrassment is a normal human reaction. Retaining evidence of it to embarrass him later is the behavior of a scoundrel. Associating with people of low character reflects badly on Trump. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas. Echoes of Cohen are going to be heard for a good long time. Hopefully he will choose associates with better character.

  4. this story has gone viral.

listen, what 21 year old college student / pool boy wouldn’t want to make some rich connections?

within 48 hours he will receive millions of dollars of offers for “tell all” interviews that will be leverage-able into the tens if he can make it really, really spicy, true or not

its now going to be up to Granda, whether he wants to be a strong and silent man, left to live his live privately and make his way without the mass media and its false promises, evil works, and empty pomps, or if he wants to turn himself into another racy joke to sell newspapers and the subject of a million people’s anonymous fantasies,

I wish the young man well.. “no comment” and the few things his lawyer have said indicate that he is interested in private life and lot the limelight. Good for him!

  5. The Hypocrisy of the Far Left….Killing Babies but pretending to care for immigrant families.

    Hillary the Hypocrite

    Hillary’s Hypocrisy

On Friday, Hillary Clinton rounded out a striking week of moral hypocrisy. After starting the week excoriating Donald Trump’s “horrific” policy toward children of illegal immigrants, she ended the week praising Ireland for legalizing the killing of unborn children.

Tears of gratitude filled Hillary’s eyes on Friday as she thanked Irish Millennials for embracing abortion for their country. Speaking to a crowd of 400 in Dublin, Hillary spoke of how her heart had been warmed from afar by the image of “Irish people flying home to vote [for abortion] from all over the world.” She thrilled: “Airports were mini-rallies with cheering and colorful banners greeting citizens who came as far away as from Japan, Australia and, of course, America.” She glowed: “On the day of the vote one of the strictest laws in the world was overturned with nearly 87 per cent of 18- to 25-year-olds voting ‘yes.’”

What a triumph for youth, for human rights, and for good government: “It was an example of a government placing that decision before the people and grassroots activism,” hailed Hillary, “leading to an outcome that represented the voices and views of the Irish people.”

That is, the voices of Irish people who have a voice. The unborn children of Ireland have no voice.

Who knew that Hillary Clinton was such a big fan of Ireland? I wrote a 300-plus page biography of Mrs. Clinton, with no mention of Ireland. But now she has reason to like the Irish, given they’ve recognized a woman’s “right to choose.” Now, alas, Hillary goes to Ireland. The Irish are good.

Hillary held forth at the invite of Ireland’s academic elite, which honored her in the literal name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Clinton spoke those words at no less than Ireland’s Trinity College. University officials bestowed her with an honorary degree, which she employed as a platform to reverence Ireland’s great new triumph: abortion.

In all, it was quite a departure from the tears of sadness Hillary had emoted at the start of the week, back home on her own turf, at a women’s event in New York. There, she torched President Donald Trump for his policies toward children of illegal immigrants.

“What is happening to families at the border is horrific,” Clinton remonstrated. “Every human being with a sense of compassion and decency should be outraged.” We watch President Trump “with broken hearts,” she lamented.

Her remarks at the Women’s Forum of New York awards lunch were followed up by a tweet later that Monday afternoon: “Every parent who has ever held a child in their arms, every human being with a sense of compassion and decency, should be outraged [by the Trump policy].”

If only Mrs. Clinton, not to mention other “pro-choice” liberals, applied a sense of compassion and decency to unborn babies. Flip her statement around and try to imagine her making that same statement about children in the womb: “Every parent who has ever held a child in their arms, every human being with a sense of compassion and decency, should be outraged [by abortion].” In fact, fill in that blank for any number of types of abortion, going back to the 1990s (when she was first lady) to her years in the Senate to her time in the Obama administration to the 2016 presidential campaign, when there wasn’t a form of legalized abortion Mrs. Clinton wouldn’t back. Remember the exchange during her 2016 presidential debates with Donald Trump?

It was the third and final debate, and the moderator, Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace, asked Clinton:“You have been quoted as saying that the fetus has no constitutional rights. You also voted against a ban on late-term, partial-birth abortions. Why?”

I could’ve written Clinton’s response, having heard it so many times over the years: “Because Roe v. Wade very clearly sets out that there can be regulations on abortion so long as the life and the health of the mother are taken into account….”

Yes, of course. Always an excuse. It was the same old Hillary.

Donald Trump’s response to Hillary was spot-on: “Well, I think it’s terrible. If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby. Now, you can say that that’s okay and Hillary can say that that’s okay, but it’s not okay with me.”

Hillary got angry at that, scolding Trump for his “scare rhetoric.” The big-government, womb-to-tomb, socialized-medicine, forced-government-funding-of-contraception-and-abortion, nanny-state liberal lectured: “The government has no business in the decisions that women make with their families.”

If Trump had had a crystal ball at that moment, he could’ve borrowed Hillary’s words in New York last week attacking his immigration policy. He could’ve looked Hillary in the eye and told her that every parent who has ever held a child in their arms, every human behind with a sense of compassion and decency, should be outraged… by the notion of ripping an unborn child to shreds just weeks before its birth.

And that wasn’t all that Hillary said about the Trump administration’s border policy. She slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his quoting of Scripture vis-à-vis border policy. The Right Rev. Clinton mounted her pulpit:

“Nor are these policies rooted in religion,” explained Clinton. “In fact, those who selectively use the Bible to justify this cruelty are ignoring a central tenant of Christianity.” She added: “I went to a lot of years of Sunday school. I even taught it from time to time. I’ve studied the bible, both the Old and the New Testament.… What is being done using the name of religion is contrary to everything I was ever taught. Jesus said suffer the little children onto me, he did not say let the children suffer.”

Here again, the hypocrisy is galling, especially Hillary’s narrow application of this particular New Testament verse. I’m reminded of Ronald Reagan citing that same passage over 30 years ago, but in application to unborn children — i.e., where Hillary would never apply it. In a January 1984 speech, Reagan stated:

This nation fought a terrible war so that black Americans would be guaranteed their God-given rights. Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some could decide whether others should be free or slaves. Well, today another question begs to be asked: How can we survive as a free nation when some decide that others are not fit to live and should be done away with? I believe no challenge is more important to the character of America than restoring the right to life to all human beings. Without that right, no other rights have meaning. “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of God.”

Those are the words of Christ, applied by Reagan to unborn children. Again, it’s something Hillary will not do.

Perhaps some of us would take Hillary Clinton and other liberals more seriously if — just once — they applied their oozing compassion for migrant children to unborn children. Until they do, they have no moral credibility with me.

    1. Last time I looked Cohen was a proven liar and a Crook. But I’m sure he’s 100% telling the truth – this time. After all, isn’t that what serial liars do?

        1. Hillary Clinton’s life of crime started with a bribe from Tyson Chicken in 1978.

It’s been all downhill ever since.

We got President Trump’s taxes from the 90’s.

May we now have the Clinton Foundation’s tax records since inception?

This is a liar, you say?

This is a liar with an exponent!

      1. rcocean…..not necessarily. Cohen may slip up sometime and actually tell the truth, so he may not be a “consistent serial liar”.
Also, for those who really want to believe we what Cohen says, they would not find it to “be true” that he’s a liar.

    2. King of the whataboutists says what. You are so tired that sock puppet must be getting heavy.
