Teen Arrested In Attack On Elderly Couple and Firefighter

The NYPD is still looking for all but one of these teens. This picture shows a group of teenagers who allegedly were harassing and abusing an elderly couple. A 38-year-old firefighter was driving by and stopped to tell the group to stop harassing the elderly couple. The teenagers proceeded to attack the unidentified firefighter, resulting in several broken teeth and a concussion. Yesterday, the police arrested Damir Johnson, 17, was charged with one count of second-degree assault. They are looking for the other five.

The charge seems a tad light since the incident began with harassing an elderly couple and then resulting in a mob attack on a good samaritan.

The lack of any recognition of either the elderly couple or the rescuer as human beings in this attack are the most chilling aspect of the crime. Such crimes reflect a serious threat to society by people who lack any evidence of empathy or humanity in their actions. According to the New York Daily News, Johnson was arrested after a tip. He is the one in the white long-sleeved shirt.

It should not take long to identify the other teens and, if they are all around 17, they are likely to be tried as adults for such a despicable and violent offense.

  1. LOL, See five thugs harassing two old people, get out of car without protection, proceed to get the ____ beat out of you. Did he call the cops first?
But then, this is what guns are made for, protection. Been nice to watch them crap their pants, after seeing the fireman pull out one.

  2. One of the problems facing our young is they are not being appropriately taught in our public schools. They are taught to revere the worst in people and the worst of ideas. Here is an example provided when leftists have too much authority.

Minnesota Students Assigned to Color Reverential Photos of Rep. Ilhan Omar
Scandal-ridden congresswoman is treated as an icon.

    May 24, 2019
In her short time in Congress, freshman U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar has made a name for herself as a vehement anti-Semite. She infamously invoked age-old anti-Semitic tropes when she tweeted “It’s all about the Benjamins [$100 bills], baby,” accusing the pro-Israel organization AIPAC of donating to politicians in order to secure favorable treatment of the Jewish state. Omar is also an ardent supporter of the Hamas-funded Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. Now it appears that despite her highly controversial record and short career in public service, schoolchildren in Minnesota are being taught to venerate the fledgling politician.

John Hinderaker the President of the Center of the American Experiment located in Omar’s home state of Minnesota, reports on Powerline’s blog that a public elementary school in the state assigned its students to color in reverential pictures of Omar and also to write a report on the Congresswoman.

“This photo came from a public elementary school in Minneapolis,” Hinderaker reports, citing an image featuring a display of coloring pages that each depict Omar standing with an almost military bearing, face upturned, staring off into the distance. She is wearing a headscarf and keffiyeh (prayer shawl). Several detailed floral designs are arranged around her face. “I’ve been told that the same coloring project has been reported in at least one suburban school district, but I don’t have definite confirmation of that yet,” Hinderaker adds. He does not identify the school districts participating in the assignment.

As Hinderaker points out, Omar is a highly successful politician, who has raised “three to five times as much” in campaign donations as other U.S. House members from Minnesota. Apparently Minnesota’s public schools are doing whatever they can to cement her reputation as an icon.

“Omar is being raised to heroic status in her district’s public schools,” writes Hinderaker. “Elementary school students are apparently being taught to revere her, much as, in recent years, they have been taught to see Martin Luther King, Jr. as a kind of secular saint. Someone has distributed an Ilhan Omar card that students are instructed to color, while writing a ‘report’ on the inside. I assume those reports are paeans to the Congresswoman.”

Congresswoman Omar’s questionable actions and comments extend well beyond her hatred of Israel. She served as the keynote speaker at a recent event to benefit the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization known for its strong ties to Islamic extremism. Steven Pomerantz, the former chief of counter-terrorism at the FBI has baldly stated that “CAIR, its leaders and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.”

At that event Omar shared the stage with CAIR-Florida executive director Hassan Shibly, who refuses to classify Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organizations. During her speech, Omar notoriously referred to the 9/11 attacks in which approximately 3000 American citizens died as “some people did something.”

Omar’s record in the Minnesota State House of Representatives, where she served as a representative from 2016-2018, is also troubling. In 2017, Omar voted against a bill that would allow life insurance companies to refuse to pay benefits in cases where the insured party died while committing an act of terrorism—one of only two state representatives to do so. She also opposed a bill which would make it a felony for parents to make their daughters undergo female genital mutilation.

Other allegations against the Congresswoman are deeply disturbing. The Minnesota Sun reported in October 2018 that “probable cause” existed to show that Omar together with her campaign committee to elect her to the state legislature in 2016 had committed “at least three separate [campaign finance] violations, including the alleged use of campaign funds to pay off legal fees related to her divorce.”

Online encyclopedia of the left, Discoverthenetworks.org, also reports that during her run for the Minnesota House in 2016, Omar “faced highly credible allegations that – in an effort to perpetrate immigration fraud and/or student loan fraud – she had married her own brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009 and was still legally his wife.” Omar responded by claiming these reports were “disgusting lies” made by those who are “deeply invested in stopping a progressive, black, Muslim, hijab-wearing, immigrant woman.”

Congresswoman Omar is establishing her own legacy—one in which scandals percolate and anti-Semitism, and apologetics for Islamic extremism take center stage. Minnesota’s public schools are attempting to give her a very different one.

    1. From Front Page Magazine, but you won’t hear it from Allan.

“FrontPage Magazine is an online right-wing political website…”

      1. Yes, Front-page leans right but unlike the Washington Post it tells the truth and admits it is providing opinion.

Right or left wing doesn’t matter. What matters is: Is it true?

        1. @allan

The test for any theory or observation is, “is it true”? Does it work in the real world? Leftists tend to look at things (particularly race and culture) through ideological lenses and if it doesn’t fit, does mental gymnastics to explain it away. I’ve seen few leftists who will debate and explain why you’re wrong, they like to call you a slur and go on.

Let them have their multicult utopia, I want no part of it. And feel no empathy for them when they get mugged, attacked, neighborhoods overrun, etc. Let them suffer! I look forward to the day when the upper middle class cannot avoid the chaos they’ve created for the rest of us.

          antonio

          1. “Let them have their multicult utopia, I want no part of it. And feel no empathy for them when they get mugged, attacked, neighborhoods overrun, etc. Let them suffer!”

Antonio, the problem is that we are forced into their wacky world as are many innocents. We at least have the means to take care of ourselves so we also should think of those that have not been as fortunate and have been forced into terrible circumstances because of stupid people with plenty of left wing ideology and no common sense.

    2. You expect schools to teach morals? That used to be the parents job. Is “it takes a village” your favorite book?

      1. Ron, let me repeat what I said so things are clear: “One of the problems facing our young is they are not being appropriately taught in our public schools. They are taught to revere the worst in people and the worst of ideas. Here is an example provided when leftists have too much authority.”

Here I am saying not that one teaches morals in school rather one doesn’t teach what is wrong. As you say, it is the parents job to teach morality. However, one can never separate morality from daily actions. In school morality might simply be taught through the choice of books one reads. Think of what you know about George Washington and the cherry tree. Better yet read Richard Brookheiser’s book on Washington, “Founding Father”, and see how that can influence a young mind in the positive direction.

  3. “Johnson walked up behind the firefighter and punched him in the back of the head, said police. The firefighter fell face first to the sidewalk and suffered five broken teeth, a concussion, bruising and cuts.”

“Johnson has been arrested three times this year for theft and assault”

Those of you referring to this as petty crime warranting just a few days in jail are absolutely nuts.

  4. Schools, and families, need to work together in teaching citizenship. Any photos from any place in the US should be shown. Punishment must fit the crime. Hours of community service must follow the attack, if possible. Hours of CS increases with each additional charge. Families can participate by having the child put his grandparents in the discussion. It makes an attack on elderly personal. Any videos with sound should be seen and heard. Have any victim willing to talk about what happened. Make it personal.

  5. I’m sorry, I don’t waste my time watching videos by people with obnoxious and predictable opinions.

  6. Petty predators. A few days in jail each. New York hasn’t had the sense to restore corporal punishment. Some strokes with a rattan cane would be appropriate.

    1. A punch to the back of the head is a sincere attempt to cause brain damage in the victim. The charge ought to have been aggravated assault. And the sentence ought to be 3-5 years.

  7. Second degree assault? A diluted charge for a minority defendant. Perhaps it is time for another Bernard Goetz; I have something for each of you.

  8. Gee, this kind of behavior has never happened before and certainly not by white people.

WTF JT? What’s the legal principle, or any principle here beyond purposefully stirring racial resentment among your more than ready and willing regular posters.

    1. This is a responsibility and child-rearing problem not a race problem. When I grew up, A-A families were intact and had strong ties to the community. They didn’t adopt Thug Culture and attending church at rates approaching or exceeding Caucasian families. Dads meted out discipline and moms cared for the household. Now that community has been decimated by liberal policies that forced dads out and moms to go to work or subsist on welfare. Crime in the black community was always high due to plenty of factors like poverty and unemployment. In the 70s, the drug trade introduced unprecedented violence into the AA community and the rest of America did little to stem the tide. It is demonstrably true that blacks are over-represented both as perpetrators and victims of crime. That said, generalized statistics of group behavior shed almost no light on the conduct of the members of the group. The depicted crime is herd mentality chronicled to occur among most all ethnic groups when congregated into a crowd. See, “The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind” by Guatave LeBon or “The Group Mind” by McDougall. These miscreants need to be dealt with harshly but their group did not commit the crime; they did. As the great conservative philosopher Edmund Burke always reminds us: “I do not know the method of drawing up an indictment against a whole people.”

      1. ??

The frequency of aggravated assault is about 1/3 higher than it was in 1972 and that of forcible rape about 85% higher. However, other notable categories of crime – murder, robbery, burglary, and auto theft – are between 40% and 60% less common than they were at that time. Use of heroin and LSD was at a historical peak in that era. Also at that time, you were seeing a flip in the social ecosystem, with rapid increases in the frequency of illegitimate child-bearing (accounting for > 35% of all black births at that time) and divorce (the ratio of divorces to extant marriages trebled between 1967 and 1980).

        I remember the entropy.

        1. Several studies have dovetailed, coming from different directions, which indicate that lead poisoning, primarily from auto exhaust – and thus worst in cities – coorelates with the increase and then subsequent decrease in crime stats.

          1. No, they don’t. This is a notion promoted by J-School graduate Kevin Drum. He didn’t have any ecological studies to which to refer. He referred to longitudinal bivariate studies. Which is just dreck.

      2. “It’s not about race.”

        It’s about dollars – other people’s money.

$22 trillion for the War on Poverty since 1964.

        Poverty won.

It’s not about race, it’s about the cost to provide an emulsifier to force the axiomatically impossible mixture of oil and water. It’s not about race, it;s about compelling people to pay for an unconstitutional and impossible dream giving taxpayers a nightmare instead. The American thesis is freedom and self-reliance not wholly unconstitutional generational welfare and affirmative action. Individual welfare is unconstitutional and social engineering programs violate the right to private property. Charity is voluntary industry conducted in the free markets of the private sector.

Poverty won…illegally. Compulsory charity is nowhere in the Constitution. No citizen or separate group of citizens is the constitutional burden of the taxpayer. Congress has the power to tax only for “…general Welfare…” not individual welfare. Congress has no authority to violate the right to private property and compel affirmative action on private property enterprises.

      3. Amen. I’ve seen white kids act just as despicably. This isn’t a racial issue. It’s an issue in which a young man chose very deliberately to try to maim someone else.

        1. @loupsarous601

Of course there are bad while kids,or that whites do not commit crimes, no one says that does not occur. .That is not the issue. It is the differential that is the issue.

When adjusted for population, a black is 5 times more likely to attack a white person, than vice versa.

Another ‘hate fact” which is objectively true, despite the protestations of our moral bettors.

          antonio

    2. @anon

Wouldn’t you want someone to give warning if a tornado was coming?

Sweeping it under the rug does not make it all go away.

Water is wet and 2+2 is 4. And all of the hang wringing and mental gymnastics will not change the fact that adjusted for population a black is 5 times more likely to attack a while person than vice versa.

Again this is a FACT. A “hate fact”, according to our leftist moral bettors but a fact, not an opinion.

      antonio

      1. Warning of what? Humans can be very cruel and act in groups in ways they wouldn’t as individuals?

        I know that.

      2. PS Crime follows income levels. As to racially motivated attacks:

“According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report database, in 2010 58.6% of reported hate crime offenders were white, 18.4% of offenders were black, 8.9% were of individuals of multiple races and 1% of offenders were Native Americans.[72] The report also reveals that 48% of all hate crime offenders were motivated by the victim’s race, while 18% were based on the victim’s religion, and another 18% were based on the victim’s sexual orientation.[73] The report states that among hate crime offenses motivated by race, 70% were composed of anti-black bias, while 17.7% were of anti-white bias, and 5% were of anti-Asian or Pacific Islander bias.[73]”

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States

        1. PS Crime follows income levels

No, it doesn’t, or its frequency would decline monotonically as living standards improve.

As for the prevalence and incidence of crime in different social strata, the traits associated with criminality – impetuosity and depressed intelligence – don’t have a positive association with earning power. Employers also look askance at employees who lie to them and steal supplies.

          1. Actually I encourage those behaviors from my employees, but not sure what that has to do with the subject.

        2. While we’re at it, the FBI data on known perpetrators is as follows for 2017:

          Murder:

‘white’ (43%), black (54%), other (3%). About 19% are attributed to hispanics of any race. Interpolating from the distribution of hispanics among coarse racial taxonomies, the result is white Anglo (25%), black (53%), hispanics and others (22%).

They’re not currently publishing offender data on other crimes, though other agencies do.

          1. Once again DSS, you have had to correct Anon who doesn’t understand that data is specific and not for inappropriate use in argument. He constantly produces data that actually demonstrates he is is wrong but he uses the wrong data set for the discussion. I don’t remember the last time Anon has used data correctly.

            1. The things you say about others are merely a reflection of your own limitations, Allan.

Anytime Allan says crazy things, just insert his name.

“Once again…, you have had to correct [Allan] who doesn’t understand that data is specific and not for inappropriate use in argument. He constantly produces data that actually demonstrates he is is wrong but he uses the wrong data set for the discussion. I don’t remember the last time [Allan] has used data correctly.”

              That’s better.

              1. “The things you say about others are merely a reflection of your own limitations, Allan.”

The problem is that Anon mishandled the data and you aren’t smart enough to recognize it.

    3. What’s the legal principle, or any principle here beyond purposefully stirring racial resentment among your more than ready and willing regular posters.

WTF indeed! Your rush to provoke racial resentment has you blinded to what crime actually looks like. This is not that difficult: A group of teenagers violently assaulted a good Samaritan that came to the defense of an elderly couple being harassed and abused by this group.

      1. OK, and…….

PS Would you mind pointing out where I attempted to provoke racial resentment. Surely you’re not confusing me with JT.

        1. Let’s go to the wayback machine:

Gee, this kind of behavior has never happened before and certainly not by white people.

JT made no mention of the color of the perpetrators.

          1. I will. they were black, obviously.

if one thinks a crowd of black teenagers and a crowd of white teenagers or a crowd of asian teeangers, are equally likely to pose physical danger to others nearby, then one is ignorant of reality and facts

            1. Anon did not see a legal principle that made this story worthy of this blog. He went directly to provoking a racial aspect instead. Of course they were black as evidenced by the photo. If you want to follow anon’s lead down that path, I have no doubt the facts won’t matter to anon…

    4. WTF JT? What’s the legal principle, or any principle here beyond purposefully stirring racial resentment among your more than ready and willing regular posters.

Interesting question. One might ask the same of the WaPo and CNN in the immediate aftermath of the Covington and Jussie Smollett fiascos.

    5. may have happened before but no, not at the same rates. blacks responsible for way more violent crime on a proportionate basis. not racist unless you consider that basic facts are racist in which case then sorry but facts are facts

the VICTIMS are not “stirring things up” by complaining.

    6. It certainly happened before by white people, but the statistics on black violence are simply off the charts. That may make you uncomfortable, but it’s undeniable.

      1. Ivan, the problem with leftists like Anon is that as soon as a problem is brought to their attention they wish to divert their eyes and pretend it’s all about racism. It isn’t. It’s all about solving problems but a good number of those probelms were created by leftists who object to fact and thoughts that do not comply with their ideology.

Who care’s if they are black or white or another color? They are just kids that have been brought up wrong and have a higher chance of a lousy life with at least part of it in jail. The solution or at a least a partial solution is to look at the group and see if the problem existed prior to the War on Poverty. One will see that the problems have increased since then and one of the major problems is broken families. Then one asks themselves what programs have changed things to make things worse. In this case it is the lack of fathers. Unfortunately that was created by leftist programs that were supposed to do good not harm. Discipline is needed but today we provide tears about what happened in the past. The left doesn’t want to deal with reality. I want to help those kids get a good start in life. They were born no differently than my own.

      2. @ivan

The fact of disproportionately higher rates of black crime is what is known as a “hate fact” (or lower average black IQ for that matter).

A “hate fact” is something which is objectively true but does not conform to the leftist, egalitarian theory of how the world should be.

Numerous countries have outlawed the expression of “hate facts” and it will come to the United States sooner or later.

But as any incorrect or false view of human nature, egalitarianism will eventually collapse due to its own contradictions as did that other great, false view of human nature called Communism.

Wishing everyone were equal, punishing dissenting thoughts will not change the fact neither people, nor cultures are equal or contribute equally to the maintenance of civilization.

        The emperor has no clothes!

        Egalitarianism is creationism for liberals.

Long live free thought and expression.

        antonio

            1. Sure, and water is wet. But we need to get anon to tell us if these facts will change in the next century. 🙂

    7. The quantity and quality of this type of group violence certainly is associated with black people. There is no denying it. It is well documented in FBI crime stats. The refusal to deal with this reality has he effect of propagating these sorts of informal gang crimes (pack violence). For instance, the current trend is toward diminution of prosecution and jail time. The trend is not justified by crime prevention or justice; but rather a fetishization of black people and the associated impunity.

  9. They’re over at Tabby’s house. Smoking weed, tossing back malt liquor, and agreeing with him that blacks don’t commit violent crime at higher rates than other ethnic groups in the U.S. 🙉🙈

  10. Professor Turley

You are going to lose your good liberal card if you keep reporting such incidents! Remember part of political correctness is pretending not to notice.

I love watching the mental gymnastics liberals use when trying to explain away Dindu crime.

I refer our good readers to the “Color of Crime” which can be easily downloaded in pdf form. I just checked, google has not changed the logarithm to deep six the search.

                1. And yet, somehow, you know that Tucker is the best at talking over his guests.

Well, he also fancies his predictions of the future to be fact. He’s thirsty for attention. And he keeps pulling up an empty bucket not realizing that well ran dry long ago.

          1. “Tucker is the best at talking over his guests.”

Better than Chris Matthews? Come, now. He’s not even the best on his own network. What Tucker is really the best at is letting his most moronic guests talk, while wearing that priceless expression of faux-concern, inwardly knowing that they are damaging their own position better than any substantive rebuttal he could make.

      1. I doubt that MS 13 is more deadly than la Eme

most people never heard of la Eme of course

but they say ms 13 however much smaller than la Eme, does not pay la Eme taxes. so they are bad for sure
