Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, 49, may have the distinction of the most reckless driving incident in recent memory. She was pulled over in her Audi Q5 at Dixon, Illinois with an inflatable pool having two children inside. When asked to explain herself, Yeager said that the two children were helping hold the pool to the top of the car.
Yeager was charged with two counts of endangering the health or life of a child, two counts of reckless conduct, and failure to secure a passenger between 8 and 16.
These are very serious charges for very serious criminal acts. However, what should be the punishment if she is a first offender in your view?
Mit Romney transported his dog in a carrier on the roof of his car, on the freeway! And when the dog was so frightened that it sh!t itself all over the windshield, all Mit did was pull over into a gas station and wash the window. Then back on the road with the poor terrified dog still atop the car. He wasn’t charged with cruelty to animals or anything else, although he was rightly condemned for his cold-heartedness during his presidential run.
Take her kids away from her and put her in a mental Hospital!!!!!!
A teenage boy was killed when he fell off the roof of a car. His father had him on the mattress he was transporting to keep it from flying off. True story.
Oh, for heaven’s sake. How stupid can she be? Was she drunk? On drugs? Does she have mental problems? The dang thing isn’t tied down, so she’s using little kids on a pool sliding around on top of a moving vehicle in place of tie cables? Was there water in the pool just to complete this fiasco?
Parents make mistakes. This is not the innocent mistake of a rational, responsible person. There has got to be something going on with her. She needs a psych evaluation and a toxicology panel as a first step.

I’ve stared at this article for 10 minutes trying to imagine what this woman’s decision-making process must have been to conclude this was the best option, and I’ve got nothing but questions.
– could she not have borrowed her friend’s air compressor and brought it back?
– renting an air compressor was not an option?
– what did her friend tell her before she drove off with the kid’s on top?
– rope/tie downs/anything?
– how old were the children? What else are those children permitted to do?
Her photo looks as though she’s been crying. Hopefully those are tears over recognizing being the cool mom/grandmom means you still have limits.

She was overheard to say: “If only there was a way to decrease the size of the pool to fit it into my car. Alas, some things are mysteries.”
She had taken the pool somewhere to have it inflated and was taking it home. Why she could not have arranged to have it inflated at hero own home is a mystery.

Provide her clean water for the swimming pool and join her with the kids to laugh and enjoy a hot summer day.
