Trump Tells Freshman Women To Go Back To Their “Original” Countries

President Donald Trump caused another twitter storm this week with a highly offensive posting in which he told four female freshman members to go back to their “original countries” and that they “can’t leave fast enough.” It is a well-known trope used against immigrants. Most of us have heard it. My Sicilian immigrant grandparents heard it continually. It is a disgraceful thing to say to another citizen and it should be condemned by all Americans as unacceptable from an American president. In response to bipartisan criticism, Trump doubled down and tweeted “Their disgusting language and the many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged.”

Here is the posting from Sunday:

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly …

… and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how. …

… it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

Those progressive congresswomen are Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna S. Pressley of Massachusetts.

For the record, the “original” country form Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley is the United States. Omar was a refugee from Somalia. Moreover, Omar is working to make this country a better place as all citizens should. It is her country. I strongly disagree with her policies and frankly I am not a fan. Her views have not “gone unchallenged,” as suggested by the President However, she is a fellow American who stood up to take part in our political system. Others have called for the same reforms as Omar and singling out her origins suggests that she is somehow less qualified or legitimate in working for such changes in her adopted country. She chose this country (as did my grandparents) and she has fulfilled her duty as a citizen to fight the freedoms and opportunities that brought her to these shores.

As President, Trump does great disservice to his office and his country with such offensive statements. He should apologize to these women and to the country.

  1. The “pearl clutching” and “faux posturing” by the good Professor reaches comical heights when he invokes his Sicilian Grand Parents.

  2. What Trump said —->

“Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how.… it is done.”

Did you get the part where he said “THEN COME BACK AND SHOW US HOW IT IS DONE” ??

    1. Wait. You can’t do that. You just published “facts, “real news” and the “truth.” You are an evil, evil man.

  3. I don’t consider Twitter and tweets political dialog worthy of my attention. That said, if Trump had voiced these thoughts in a press conference, it would be worthy of
widespread condemnation. The only person who can defeat Trump in 2020 is Trump himself, and he certainly has the capacity to do so.

  4. Perhaps some of those here agreeing with Trump – they a;ways do – can tell us what “anti-American” comments were made by these Representatives to Congress, one of whom is almost certainly from a family that has been here longer than most of us, including Trump. – the last slaves sold here preceded 1866. We know Trump has taken the side of the Russians against America on several public occasions, even going so far as to try and justify murder as something we do. I think he should GTF out and take asylum in Moscow.

    1. “Perhaps some of those here agreeing with Trump – they a;ways do – can tell us what “anti-American” comments were made by these Representatives to Congress,”

Anon you need someone else to tell you what anti-Americanism is because you have a bad anti-American streak with underlying fascist tendencies.

      1. I’m not going to go back and dig up the comments I’ve made about Trump’s stupidity in the comments he made Lester Holt and the Russian diplomats after firing Comey.
Or the fact that Trump claimed to have “a beautiful health care plan” and had nothing.
Or his off-the-cuff inconsistency in foreign policy announcements or decisions.
I don’t know if Anon1 is a liar, or ignorant, or both. The latter seems most likely.
But whether he/she appears as “JanF”, or “anon”, or “anon1”, it’s always the same distortions and propaganda from that clown. 🤡

        1. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes. If a person never made any, he never did anything. Take a look back and see how many times what Trump said was a mistake and how many times what was thought to be a mistake actually worked in his favor.

Anon, at least when talking about politics is seldom right and makes only a few mistakes. However, Anon repeats his mistakes over and over again.

  5. Consider the 2916 election. Either the pollsters were incompetent OR the poll results were not being honestly reported OR a whole lot of people who told the pollsters they supported HRC went into the voting booth and voted for Trump. Among the people in that last group there are a lot of people who will say out loud that the president should not have tweeted those statements at the same time that they are thinking, “Damn right!”

As for Omar, I can’t say what I’d like to say — so I’ll put it this way: She should go forth and multiply…….by herself.

    1. RSA, the national polls had her at 2-3 points right before the election and she won nationally by 2 points. The polls were pretty accurate on a national scale. They are not on a state level, but that would be more expensive. Candidates pay for it, but news media not so much.

When Omar takes the side of Russia standing next to Putin I’ll agree with you on her. In the mean time, Trump should go back where he came from – the Howard Stern Show.

      1. Most analysts and media outlets had her winning well over 300 Electoral College votes and anywhere from a 75-95% chance of winning.
On the popular vote polling, most had Hillary with a 3-4 % lead.
These were the numbers the day before and the day of the election.
Hillary’s election was considered to be a slam dunk.

        1. “….Clinton’s standing in the polls fell sharply. She’d led Trump by 5.9 percentage points in FiveThirtyEight’s popular vote projection at 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 28. A week later — after polls had time to fully reflect the letter — her lead had declined to 2.9 percentage points. That is to say, there was a shift of about 3 percentage points against Clinton. And it was an especially pernicious shift for Clinton because (at least according to the FiveThirtyEight model) Clinton was underperforming in swing states as compared to the country overall. ….”

          https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-comey-letter-probably-cost-clinton-the-election/

          1. I previously posted the election eve polling from about 20 polling organizations.
Most had Hillary with a 3-5% popular vote lead.
More importantly, they had her winning the Electoral College votes by getting anywhere from 310- 330 Electoral College votes.
The so-called “Paths to Victory” for Trump when looking at the Electoral College map seemed so narrow that the Trump victory stunned most of the “best in the business” at calling elections.

            1. Dear Tom: you can posture all you want, but when the dust settles, Russia helped Trump, and that’s called cheating. Trump’s campaign had multiple interactions with Russians, and Mueller never had the chance to depose any Russians or Trump himself, but the proof of interference by Russians and Trump’s welcoming of interference was established. The bottom line is: he cheated, and he hasn’t been able to win over the majority of the American people since occupying the Oval Office. His consistent negative polling is historic, and HE is the cause, not the media. His administration is chaotic, with an unprecedented number of agencies with only “acting” heads–mostly to avoid Congressional oversight called for by the Constitution–and an unprecedented number of departures. All he has done is further divide Americans into tribes and pontificate and issue executive orders that courts mostly overturn. The only legislative “accomplishment” is historic tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthy, and which mostly went to stock repurchases, rather than investment in American business. This maneuver has resulted in an historic deficit, which the tax cuts will not vitiate. He also has rolled back consumer and environmental protections, but this was unilateral.

Yesterday’s tweet storm proves how desperate he is to solidify the White Nationalist and White Supremacist elements of his base.

              1. I’ve seen 3 different excuses for Hillary’s 2016 loss repeated ad nauseum by 3 individuals here.
For the umpteenth time, Natacha’s “The Russians Cheated” is repeated.
JanF/anon/anon1, dozens if not hundreds of times, “Comey Caused Hillary’s Loss”.

Peter’s line, again and again, is not so much of an excuse as the “80,000 people in 3 states’ caused Hillary’s loss”, as though that we’re unprecedented.
Some elections are landslides, some are decided by a substantial 5-10% margin, and some are decided by narrow margins.

The common theme with the robotic repitition from these 3 championship whiners is that “we don’t like how the 2016 election turned out and we’re going to repeat that again and again and again”.

One of the 3 asked me earlier today why I was so focused on the 2016 election.
Coming from him, that us ironic. Virtually every day we’re treated to the same horseshit** from the same people throwing tantrums about the results of that election, and when I respond at times, I’M the one who’s obsessed with that election?

              2. Take a look at the Hillary campaign if you want to see actual coordination, collusion, and conspiracy with Russia and Ukraine.

  6. Why did we even begin to allow these 7th century Islamic (Pedos) throw backs & other assorted American hating Trash into our country in the 1st place?

I don’t think that most of the people in the US are not going to keep waiting/ putting up with as the Dem & some Rinos turn the US into just another 3rd world schithole like has been done now with much of Western Europe.

Jill, et al:, have you seen the damage they’ve done? The Rape Gangs?

Trump’s correct, they can put their trash bags over their heads & get the hell out!

    1. Wow, I guess Jeff Epstein is a Muslim? Who knew?

I really never realized that only Muslim’s committed pedophilia. I had heard about a few problems in the Catholic Church. Then I heard about some problems in the Mormon church. But maybe these people are actually closeted Muslims?

      1. Take a look at all the Trump haters…. Islamic, Demo some Repub leadership, Hollywreid…. many of them are ok being Pedos.

  7. He should apologize to these women and to the country.

You’re always confusing social convention on faculties with actual moral obligations. These women are horrible, and have been spoken to truthfully.

  8. Perfectly legitimate thing to say to Omar. (And perhaps Tlaib as well). This should not be controversial.

  9. The Left clapped like barking seals and threw blood soaked abortionist money at Shillary on top of her 9 feet grave of dead bodies, collusion, lying, scandals and rape victims on which she had gleefully defecated for decades

Sorry, liberals, you have no moral standing…not that Trump does either but we just hate what you have done to our country since LBJ, the biggest racist of them all

  10. Basically what he’s saying is if you don’t like it here you can go back to where you or your ancestors came from. OK who needs plane fare

    1. Bruce,
I have a friend who is a naturalized American citizen, but also citizenship in two other countries.
He kind of danced around the issue of how America is viewed in other countries, almost apologetically saying “there’s a lot of anti-Americanism” in the multiple countries he’s lived in or visited.
      I said “that’s OK, there’s a lot of anti-America sentiment by Americans, too”.😉

  11. This article is out of context, ignoring what prompted Trump to tweet.

At the annual Netroots Nation meeting Omar said:

“One of our members said to me, if there were dogs in those cages, every single member of Congress would vote to make sure that all of these cages didn’t exist any longer. We live in a society and govern in a body that might value the life of a dog more than they value the life of a child who might not look like theirs.”

After Omar’s anti-American comment Trump tweeted his “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen” tweet noted in the article in which he called out the noxious “Squad”, as Pelosi calls them and incorrectly said that all were immigrants. The MSM and activists went nuts so needless to say Trump then tweeted a response.

“So sad to see the Democrats sticking up for people who speak so badly of our Country and who, in addition, hate Israel with a true and unbridled passion. Whenever confronted, they call their adversaries, including Nancy Pelosi, “RACIST.” Their disgusting language and the many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged. If the Democrat Party wants to continue to condone such disgraceful behavior, then we look even more forward to seeing you at the ballot box in 2020!”

    1. Oly

You don’t understand your own Constitution. Her speech, whether you like her or her speech, is protected.

If you don’t stand up for your fellow citizen’s right to speak it is you who is anti-American. Make your argument showing how what she said it wrong but refusing to let someone else have free speech is the basis of totalitarianism.

  12. This must stop, NOW. Trump is displaying his contempt for our Constitution and his fellow citizens by saying they should either be true believers in what he considers the “American” way or leave the country.

Trump is a snowflake. He cannot allow anyone to criticize or have a different view than he does. He is exactly like the left wing snowflakes who consider any disagreement with them to be an “assault”.

He is only feeding into the increasing unwillingness of citizens to 1. tolerate difference of opinion and 2. support their rights unequivocally to those opinion.

I have experienced this from the “left” on this blog when told, because I didn’t bow down to Obama, that I was a member of the tea party and should get off the blog. On the right, just a few days ago I was told that free speech is just like spitting on someone. Further I was told I should leave the country because I was critical of my nation for being engaged in torture and war crimes.

I’d just like to point out that spitting is an assault. Speech is speech that we may like or don’t like. We are free to leave when speech we don’t like is occurring.

Just as in the post above, people are unable to make rational arguments on either the right or the left. Therefore, they just tell others to shut up, leave the country or be fired.

This dangerous demagoguery by Trump must be rejected by citizens of the US. The right and left need to snap out of their authoritarianism and start acting like a citizen of a free nation. Trump is a snowflake who will brook no criticism of himself or his policies. That is because he is a very weak man, not capable of making a reasoned argument and it is also because he would like to be a dictator instead of being a president.

He deserves our strongest condemnation of such an ignorant, anti Constitutional demand. It is time to stop this and we can stop it by standing up for our fellow citizen’s rights and for our own Constitution.

    1. says: January 4, 2019 at 2:50 PM
This thread shows how easy it has been to divide and conquer people and how easily it is for a dominant group to willingly dehumanize another group. The hatred of Muslims here is extreme. If you were in Nazi Germany, the descriptive language about Muslims could be easily fit into Nazi descriptions of homosexuals, jews, the disabled and any other hated group of the majority population in Germany. This is exactly how a nation becomes totalitarian and how one group of people learns to think nothing of killing others. Good Work Oligarchs!

This is the way Democrats spoke of Tea Party people while Obama was in charge. Dems wanted the “lower orders” rights taken away. The called people in the Tea Party filthy pigs, cockroaches etc. It’s very dangerous and here we are. Unless people wise up and stop falling for divide and conquer, we will have Nazi America, out front, in the open, no way out.

      1. This comment was posted by Jill in early January, but the “Jill” didn’t show up in cut and pasted comment.
The JT column was about Rep. Rapida Tlaib’s “we’re gonna impeach the Mother F***** ” comment before she was even in the House yet as a Congresswoman-elect.
Give St. Jill’s objectivity and even-handedness and desire for civility😉😄, I expected to see her comment on Rep. Tlaib’s crass statement.
Amazingly, I couldn’t find any comment by her that condemned Rep.Tlaib’s foul- mouthed pledge to impeach Trump.

        1. Tom,

Would you be willing to clarify what you are saying? I don’t know what you are referring to. I’ve been on this blog since about 4 months from when JT started it. There isn’t any cutting and pasting on my part. I think you may be confusing me with another person. If you would link to directly to the quote which you believe is cut and pasted, showing exactly where it was made on this blog, that would help to understand what is happening.

I don’t read it all the time and I don’t comment on every story. If she made this “crass” statement, that is her right. You need to defend the right of free speech. All of us do.

Why not make your argument as to why you disagree with her and how you don’t like her language? Even so, she can say that.

          1. Jill,
I think he is wondering why you didn’t “make your argument as to why you disagree with her and how you don’t like her language?” Tlaib is part of the problem.

    2. President Trump is also exercising HIS right to Free Speech..EVERYONE gets to talk in a free speech world!

  13. I wish Professor Turley had the courage to call out Trump’s racism, rather than hiding behind weasel words like “offensive.” Truth is the best disinfectant.

    1. Apparently anonymous is unable to recognize the difference between who a person is based on race and who a person is based on what they say. Trump isn’t a racist he is against those that are anti-American, break American law and wish to change America into a Fascist or Theocratic state.

Trump is not a racist. He is responding to the anti-American activities and race baiting that we see from certain persons. That you don’t like his tone is your preference but one doesn’t see you sorting out the anti-Americanism and race baiting of those that Trump is referring to. It is better to get these things out in the open even if one might prefer a different way of handling these things. We don’t see you promoting a better way because your rhetoric is empty and demonstrates that you are rooting for a team, not the nation.

  14. Just another example of Trump tweeting badly and a reflexive, hyperbolic media reaction. We all know that what he is saying is that those of us who are lucky enough to live in the US, should acknowledge that we live in an exceptional country that has fought and died more for human rights and freedom than ANY other country or any other citizenry.

America has sacrificed millions of our citizens/treasure to help save Europe,Asia,Africa from fascist regimes, while knowing that we could have stayed isolated and safe from those fascist regimes . The countries from which these womens’ families originate ARE THOSE FASCIST REGIMES. Though they and their families escaped those regimes, they left millions of people in those countries to deal with those horrors.

So STOP hating on the USA and if you are unhappy with the USA and think it’s full of fascist, racist, misogenystic people, then leave. Because there are plenty of countries that actually are full of fascist, racist, misogenystic people and they are begging for help. Americans aren’t begging for these freshmen members’ help and most of us despise their mean-spirited, nasty hatred of the USA.

    1. No, he’s telling them to go back where they came from and then he goes on to describe that courtiers or countries. For three of them who were born in the USA, he describes the country that he has turned into one of the most corrupt on earth.

As to Ms. Omar, I wonder if he even knows where she came from as a refugee.

Making excuses for this ignorant bigot is ridiculous and wrong.

      1. Holmes – It’s not an excuse, it’s being intelligent enough to have an understanding of everyone’s ridiculous bigotry and bias – as we’ve seen illustrated by these congresspeoples’ ignorant and racist statements. Their hatred of America deserves a reply, unfortunately Trumps replies are inadequate and the libs hyperbolic, angst is febril. And if you think the USA is the most corrupt on earth, I think you should leave as well. It’s easy to do and your hatred can be abated in your new home!

        1. SBG to Holmes: “And if you think the USA is the most corrupt on earth, I think you should leave as well. It’s easy to do and your hatred can be abated in your new home!”

Well said SBG. I think this is what the President is saying whether or not a person was born elsewhere except those born elsewhere never had to come here in the first place.

Omar is likely a bigamist from Somalia who seems to have engaged in campaign finance violations along with, said by another, “Fraud, deceit, lies, corruption, cover-up, bigamy, immigration law violations, law breaking – all appear to be associated with the first Somali American winner of a Democratic primary in Minnesota. The newly discovered documents and witness testimony cry out for an investigation,” Do the Democrats investigate. No. Any Republican with Omar’s history wouldn’t survive in Congress a month.

          1. : I don’t believe what I’m seeing. Where have you been all your lives, at an orgy? Listening to Mick Jagger

            [punk rock]

Foley : music and bad-mouthing your country, I’ll bet…! Better stop
            —————————————–
I recently watched “An Officer and a Gentleman” again, and few of the comments here remind me of Lou Gosset Jr.’s “greating” and berating the recruits when he first saw them.😄
He got a well- deserved Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor…..give a heck of an acceptance speech.

    2. I’m not the biggest dumpster fan…. he’s loose with the truth and facts….i don’t think he is as intelligent as he thinks he is…. but i truly believe he loves the USA. I voted for him and probably will again. I’m sick of all the PC crap and Democrats wanting to give the farm away while hating on our country. All of these dem presidential candidates, the four frosh, and the media are going to be the dumpster’s trump card for the next election.

  15. Egad. Ridiculously obnoxious and not helpful.

I fear it is only going to make them double-down on their own obnoxiousness.

The centrifuge is spinning out of control…

  16. It is an honor to live in the United States of America ! As an American born citizen with immigrant roots I feel others should consider living in this country a privilege !

  17. “He should apologize to these women and to the country”.
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen.😉
I doubt if JT’s Sicilian grandparents or my Calabrian grandparents said “We’re gonna impeach the mother f*****”, so Trump’s clumsy tirade wasn’t entirely unprovoked.
Joe Biden said that the Trump era will be viewed as an aberation, that this “style” of politics with insults and tweets flying back and forth is a temporary thing and that a more orderly, civil style will return.
Hillary Clinton has said that the Democrats should ditch civility as long as Trump is on the scene ( I’m paraphrasing both Biden and Clinton’s comments), and it looks like crude, uncivil behavior comes naturally to some of the more extreme members of Congress.
With or without Hillary’s call to schuck civility.
I think Biden is overly optimistic about the political climate and style. Regardless of how the 2020 election turns out, I don’t see a “more restrained” style of politics returning anytime soon.

    1. Tom, I think Trumps blunt verbiage is his basic verbiage used when dealing with regular people that are not used to the flowery language so many want from this President.

    2. today the mayor of chicago is on NPR openly calling for people to violate this law.

I call on TRUMP to order he FBI to arrest her and any other big city mayor conspiring to intentionally harbor illegal immigrants. Time to enforce the law or nobody is going to respect the US going forwards.

Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324(a) defines several distinct offenses related to aliens. Subsection 1324(a)(1)(i)-(v) prohibits alien smuggling, domestic transportation of unauthorized aliens, concealing or harboring unauthorized aliens, encouraging or inducing unauthorized aliens to enter the United States, and engaging in a conspiracy or aiding and abetting any of the preceding acts. Subsection 1324(a)(2) prohibits bringing or attempting to bring unauthorized aliens to the United States in any manner whatsoever, even at a designated port of entry. Subsection 1324(a)(3).

Alien Smuggling — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(i) makes it an offense for any person who — knowing that a person is an alien, to bring to or attempts to bring to the United States in any manner whatsoever such person at a place other than a designated port of entry or place other than as designated by the Commissioner, regardless of whether such alien has received prior official authorization to come to, enter, or reside in the United States and regardless of any future official action which may be taken with respect to such alien.

Domestic Transporting — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(ii) makes it an offense for any person who — knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law.

Harboring — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iii) makes it an offense for any person who — knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation.

Encouraging/Inducing — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) makes it an offense for any person who — encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.

Conspiracy/Aiding or Abetting — Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(v) expressly makes it an offense to engage in a conspiracy to commit or aid or abet the commission of the foregoing offenses.

Bringing Aliens to the United States — Subsection 1324(a)(2) makes it an offense for any person who — knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has not received prior authorization to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, to bring to or attempts to bring to the United States in any manner whatsoever, such alien, regardless of any official action which may later be taken with respect to such alien.

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA), enacted on September 30, 1996, added a new 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(3)(A) which makes it an offense for any person, during any 12-month period, to knowingly hire at least 10 individuals with actual knowledge that these individuals are unauthorized aliens. See this Manual at 1908 (unlawful employment of aliens).

Unit of Prosecution — With regard to offenses defined in subsections 1324(a)(1)(A)(i)-(v), (alien smuggling, domestic transporting, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or conspiracy/aiding or abetting) each alien with respect to whom a violation occurs constitutes a unit of prosecution. Prior to enactment of the IIRIRA, the unit of prosecution for violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2) was each transaction, regardless of the number of aliens involved. However, the unit of prosecution is now based on each alien in respect to whom a violation occurs.

Knowledge — Prosecutions for alien smuggling, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(A)(i) require proof that defendant knew that the person brought to the United States was an alien. With regard to the other violations in 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a), proof of knowledge or reckless disregard of alienage is sufficient.

Penalties — The basic statutory maximum penalty for violating 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(i) and (v)(I) (alien smuggling and conspiracy) is a fine under title 18, imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both. With regard to violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(ii)-(iv) and (v)(ii), domestic transportation, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or aiding/abetting, the basic statutory maximum term of imprisonment is 5 years, unless the offense was committed for commercial advantage or private financial gain, in which case the maximum term of imprisonment is 10 years. In addition, significant enhanced penalties are provided for in violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1) involving serious bodily injury or placing life in jeopardy. Moreover, if the violation results in the death of any person, the defendant may be punished by death or by imprisonment for any term of years. The basic penalty for a violation of subsection 1324(a)(2) is a fine under title 18, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(A). Enhanced penalties are provided for violations involving bringing in criminal aliens, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(i), offenses done for commercial advantage or private financial gain, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(ii), and violations where the alien is not presented to an immigration officer immediately upon arrival, 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(2)(B)(iii). A mandatory minimum three year term of imprisonment applies to first or second violations of § 1324(a)(2)(B)(i) or (B)(ii). Further enhanced punishment is provided for third or subsequent offenses.

  18. “…integrative complexity of political rhetoric tends to drop during election season…”

  19. These 4 women are 1,000 times better citizens that that fascist pig that stinks up the white house. It is the bloated fascist that should leave the US. I have the perfect place for him, his crime family and all his enablers, GitMo. Keep GitMo open for those that really belong there.

    1. Would it be racist to suggest that Trump “go back” to Scotland or Germany, where his parents were born?He could live a very comfortable life in one of those advanced countries where they actually have indoor plumbing you don’t take a sh!t in the middle of the street like a dog, as is the case in Somalia. I suppose it’s only racist to tell ppl to return to the home of their ancestors, when those countries are literally sh!t holes. Nobody would be mad about being told to “go back” to a European country that all of the Third World is clamoring to get into, HaHaHa.

  20. “Working to make this country a better place like all citizens”….
The Three plus Elvis are the most offensive to all Americans & all Jews..they only seem to have distain for America & IMHO would like to see the country fail..President Trump, like all citizens, has exercised his First Amendment right to free speech & I applaud him for it.

    1. Then I’ll exercise my free speech right to say: he’s an ignorant bigot!

      1. That is OK Holmes. That is free speech and your right even though I disagree.

However, if you felt differently and walked in the street with a MAGA hat you might have been beaten up and ended up in a hospital with a potentially fatal injury like Andy Ngo. I am only looking for “Equal Justice Under the Law”.

Speaking of Andy Ngo after explaining who he was to the ignorant Peter Shill, Peter doesn’t reply as to what happened because he wants to remain ignorant so the next time someone mentions Antifa beats people up he can lie and say they are not violent.

    2. Disagreeing in an intelligent manner is one thing, but attacking people on grounds of ethnicity or national origin–is that really how we expect our president to behave?

      1. It’s a legitimate beef. We provide refuge to Ilhan Omar, and she trashes us. So does Tlaib.

        1. You let someone into your home who hates you, and resents everything you stand for, and it’s just a matter of time before he stabs you in your sleep and robs you. How is that any different than allowing people who hate America to immigrate to this country? This mess is really the fault of Congress. With so many ppl from every country on earth wanting to come here, do they really need to admit our enemies?

          1. “With so many ppl from every country on earth wanting to come here, do they really need to admit our enemies?”

I do not understand what you are trying to say. I know fiercely pro-American naturalized Iranians and Iranian-Americans. People from all over the world come here because they love the US ideals and want to be American.

How are you going to identify who is an ‘enemy’?

            1. “People from all over the world come here because they love the US ideals and want to be American. How are you going to identify who is an ‘enemy’?”

Prairie, with so many people wishing to come to America what is wrong with America choosing people that are known to love American ideals?

      2. Should we expect anti-American comments from members of Congress like Omar’s:

“We live in a society and govern in a body that might value the life of a dog more than they value the life of a child who might not look like theirs.”

        1. They all spew Anti-American comments…and outright LIES that the media lets them get away with. When do these Congresswomen ever have to answer for their blatant lies?

Newsflash: Trump isn’t the only political figure who tells “lies”…..they ALL do….ALL the time.
