Trump Supporters Chant “Send Her Back” At North Carolina Rally [Update]

In one of the most disturbing moments of his presidency, Donald Trump stood before a huge crowd in Greenville, N.C. as his supporters chanted “send her back” in reference to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). I have previously discussed Trump’s disgraceful comments regarding Omar and three other freshman members of Congress. While many of us condemned those statements, Trump’s popularity has actually risen with Republicans in the aftermath. Even Trump’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein have not had an impact. NBC just released the video below showing Trump partying with Epstein. Update: Trump says that he didn’t not agree with the chant.

At the rally, Trump declared:

We have the enthusiasm. Look at this. And by the way, thousands and thousands of people outside and people that couldn’t get in. Thousands. We’ve got all the enthusiasm, they’re fighting each other. They’ve gone so far left nobody wants to even think about it. So Representative Omar blamed the United States for the terrorist attacks on our country, saying that terrorism is a reaction to our involvement in other people’s affairs.

She smeared U.S. service members involved in Blackhawk Down. In other words, she slandered the brave Americans who were trying to keep peace in Somalia. Omar minimized the September 11th attacks on our homeland, saying some people did something. I don’t think so. Some people did something. Yeah. Some people did something alright.

She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization. Omar laughed that Americans speak of al-Qaida in a menacing tone and remarked that you don’t say ‘America’ with this intensity. You say ‘al-Qaida’ makes you proud. Al-Qaida makes you proud! You don’t speak that way about America.

The responsive chant “send her back” is as chilling as it is xenophobic. One GOP member said the chant “would send chills down the spines of the Founding Fathers.” Omar is a U.S. citizen who is “home.” She has succeeded in coming to his country as a child and became a member of Congress. That is precisely what this country is meant to stand for. She is trying to make this country a better place. I disagree with many of her views and well as her comments. However, that is part of a debate that can occur between citizens. For the President to stand before thousands screaming “send her home” is a terrible stain on the office of the president.

It is remarkable to see the teflon coating on Trump’s poll numbers. NBC just released a video showing Trump laughing and partying with Epstein.

The November 1992 tape shows Donald Trump partying with Epstein at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. It was more than a decade before Epstein pleaded guilty to felony prostitution charges in Florida.

  1. Turley: The four bitches from Buchenwald recently alll made anti semitic statements. To those of you who do not know what “anti semitic” means, it is anti Jewish. Instead of ranting about Trump’s slight criticism of one of them you might show us the evil statements of all four.
Some of the readers may recall or be aware of our treatment of Japanese Americans (even citizens) in our country during WWII. We locked them up in concentration camps.
Look up Korematsu on Google for the Supreme Court case approving this which was written by Hugo Black

I watched part of Trump’s speech in Greenville,NC last night on one local TV channel. The national news channels did not air it. He was very good. The crowd responded well. Vote For America!

  2. She has succeeded in coming to his country as a child and became a member of Congress.

Hysterical you would use becoming a member of Congress as some sort of valid metric

Mark Twain on Members of Congress

“The lightning there is peculiar; it is so convincing, that when it strikes a thing it doesn’t leave enough of that thing behind for you to tell whether–Well, you’d think it was something valuable, and a Congressman had been there.

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.

It is the foreign element that commits our crimes. There is no native criminal class except Congress.

  3. O.K. all you super patriots. ““Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us? The constitutional theory is that we the people are the sovereigns, the state and federal officials only our agents. We who have the final word can speak softly or angrily. We can seek to challenge and annoy, as we need not stay docile and quiet.”— Justice William O. Douglas

Unjust. Brutal. Criminal. Corrupt. Inept. Greedy. Power-hungry. Racist. Immoral. Murderous. Evil. Dishonest. Crooked. Excessive. Deceitful. Untrustworthy. Unreliable. Tyrannical.

These are all words that have at some time or other been used to describe the U.S. government.”

Trump should have stood up for our Constitution and asked the crowd to consider the implications of their chant. He did take an oath to protect and defend it.

The right to criticize this government is contained within the First Amendment. One does not even need to be a citizen, naturalized or otherwise to have that right. People chanting this also say America cannot be a socialist nation. Then why are they making it their own version of exactly that? After all, Stalin did not allow criticism of his person or the Soviet Union.

No one who stands up for our Constitution would try to make others leave the country so they don’t have to hear criticism of their “dear leader” or their own nation. That is for very weak minds, incapable of making actual arguments. It is for the profoundly unethical.

Trump supporters have become exactly like Obama supporters. It’s now Obama Jesus and Trump Jesus depending on which cult one belongs to. The right wing is now attacking in the same way as the left. Being a snowflake is not an admirable quality. If you aren’t strong enough to hear things you don’t like, you really aren’t strong at all. You certainly should not be calling yourself a “patriot”.

As president, Trump took an oath. He broke it utterly in that situation. He is a man without honor.

    1. Trump took an oath. He broke it utterly in that situation.

Mary Jo Kopechne regrets your selective outragw

      1. Estovir,

I am glad that you agree with me about Trump breaking his oath of office. I would not have expected you to agree with that, even though it is the truth.

We also agree that men and women without honor come from both legacy parties. Some of them are famous, such as Ted Kennedy who you reference here, along with Donald Trump who we agree broke his oath of office, as well as citizens who do not honor their own Constitution, which is what happened in that Trump rally and is taking place in the comments section of this story right now.

    2. I guess the only real reply to you would be, that President Trump is using his first amendment rights as well as the people in that crowd.

“The right to criticize this government is contained within the First Amendment.”

Aren’t these people part of the govt that you speak of? So why can’t we criticize them? To me, they are the snowflakes that run to the race card as soon as planned. And yes, it is planned. They knew as soon as they got in, that they could be jerks and when called out, the race card would be played. Obama set this all in motion 8 years prior.

      1. Jim, Trump can say what he wants to, as can any person in that crowd.

My point is that Trump took an oath to protect and defend our Constitution. Whether you like the Constitution or not, the first amendment protects criticism of the government. Trump broke his oath of office when he failed to explain to the crowd how their chant was contrary to one of the most important rights any person has, rights guaranteed by the constitution he swore to uphold and protect.

As he utterly failed to protect and uphold our Constitution, he showed clearly that he is a man without honor. He is a man who will break his oath of office. He is a man who just broke it.

        1. The other weird thing about this is, as you point out, they are criticizing a member of the government. Trump, Kellyanne, the audience which chanted this and many on this blog are actively criticizing the USGovt. According to their own new, made up rule, they must all leave the US immediately because they hate our government and cannot speak ill of a USG officer!

This new “rule” leave snowflakes no choice but to pack their bags immediately!

        2. “Trump broke his oath of office when he failed to explain to the crowd how their chant was contrary to one of the most important rights any person has, rights guaranteed by the constitution he swore to uphold and protect.”

Your “logic” is illogical: the people in the crowd also have their own right to free speech. You are a low IQ individual with TDS.

          1. Ivan,

Here’s what I wrote just above your post: “Trump can say what he wants to, as can any person in that crowd.

I don’t know how I can make this any clearer. Above that, I also criticized worship “leadership” disorder among Obama Jesus’s fans. I think any rational person should be able to see that this isn’t a partisan issue for me. It may be a partisan issue for you but not at all for me!

        3. I suppose had he told the crowd to stop saying that he would have broken his oath too. Trampling on the crowds first amendment rights. So which way is it?

        4. Hill, you’re totally wrong. Trump is not a schoolmarm. He took no oath to school people in civics.

You can do so if you like.

Meanwhile, he’s exercising his own free speech.

  4. Trump said yesterday that he had heard something about Rep. Omar having been “married to her brother.” Wanna bet he knows a little something about Omar’s past that the dishonest media has been covering up and keeping from MN voters for years?

When the public finds out about the string of felonies committed by Rep. Ilhan Omar – and who this woman really is –will Pelosi be pressured to remove her from her Foreign Affairs committee assignment? Or will Democrats (and Turley) come to Omar’s defense? No one is above the law? We shall see…

    1. “I believe Scott Johnson, Preya Samsundar, and me, with our three years of articles, columns and posts, have provided more than enough evidence to give law enforcement authorities probable cause to open an investigation. Now would be the chance for law enforcement, and especially for Rep. Ilhan Omar’s House colleagues, to make a sincere stand against corruption and for the uniform application of the law.”

      1. “In 1995, Ilhan entered the United States as a fraudulent member of the Omar family. That is not her family. The Omar family is a second, unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States.”

    1. “The Republican Party is the Party for ALL Americans. We are the Party of the American Worker, the American Family & the American Dream. This is the proud banner the Republican Party will carry into the Republican National Convention next summer in the great city of Charlotte, NC!

Together, we will continue unleashing the power of American enterprise, so every American can know the dignity of work and the pride of a paycheck. With your help, we will elect a Republican Congress to create a safe, modern, fair, and LAWFUL system of immigration! #MAGA2020”

      –Donald Trump

    2. This video clip of Mike Pence is a “must listen to”….

Voters can feel contempt. And Hillary Clinton just oozed contempt for half the country….

That’s the difference. Donald Trump is not contemptuous. Democrats are. And voters can feel it.

    3. Estovir, you ‘are’ deplorable beyond any doubt. Hillary meant ‘you’!!!!

  5. I am so disappointed in you Sr. I am considering never opening up you page. This opinion is awful.

  6. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. (Laughter/applause) Right? (Laughter/applause) They’re racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic – Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America.
    – Hillary Clinton at LGBT Fundraiser

Thus 60 million Americans were denigrated with laughter and applause to show enthusiastic approval.

No wonder Americans approve of Trump calling out anti-American politicians for hating their country since they are fed up in being disparaged by the Left who don’t appreciate the USA

Trump is giving the Left a dose of their own medicine and he will continue since Hillary still blames Americans for her humiliating defeat x2

  7. At least the Trump rally didn’t turn into a riot like San Juan, Puerto Rico

Streets Of San Juan A ‘War Zone’ As Protesters Call For Governor To Resign

Some of Puerto Rico’s biggest stars rallied a crowd of many thousands in San Juan on Wednesday calling on the island’s governor, Ricardo Rosselló, to resign. It was the fifth day in a row of protests following a leak of hundreds of pages of misogynistic and homophobic texts between the governor and his main advisers.

  8. Actually, there are serious questions being raised about the validity of her naturalization. As for the prudence of it, we can see it was a bad idea.

    1. This is absurd x X said:

“Actually, there are serious questions being raised about the validity of her naturalization.”

      What “serious questions”???

She was 17 years old when she was naturalized.

  9. So, you’re saying that just because she’s a naturalized American, she can destroy America???

  10. “She is trying to make this country a better place.”

I wish JT would elaborate on this. Just how is this anti-American going to make us better?

  11. Turley, why would you put the tape of Trump and Epstein at the end of your rant and that is what your post is a political rant. Is it there because you would do anything to attempt to bolster your stupid comments in this post. You have demeaned yourself as an “educator”.

  12. “It is remarkable to see the teflon coating on Trump’s poll numbers. NBC just released a video showing Trump laughing and partying with Epstein.”

Theres a famous picture of FLOTUS Rosalyn Carter with serial killer John Wayne Gacy and they’re smiling and holding hands. Should we dig up Jimmy Carter’s basement since it’s apparently guilt by good humor and proximity?

  13. “Republican support for Trump rises after racially charged tweets:” from Reuters. And the grand obfuscation by the media and those whose sympathies are with the left is that opposition to Omar et al, is not based on race but on their observable un-American speech and ethos. Trump embraces all races that support America as it historically was. The opposition is using every effort to disguise hatred of America as racial thing when it is clearly no that.

The rising support is no from white racists as they would have you believe, it is because Trump supports America rather than working to change/obliterate it in all its glory. More attempts to obfuscate that will only increase his popularity as a push back against those who do not like America.

    1. Alma, Trump supports Putin against America and Lil’ Kim against the parents of the young American he murdered. You must be thinking of someone else.

      1. “Alma, Trump supports Putin against America and Lil’ Kim against the parents of the young American he murdered. You must be thinking of someone else.”

You are delusional. Surely you have spent too many hours watching 80s TV. Or something. That remark is beyond silly.

        1. You are the prime example of that which I speak of above. You are the willing tool of those who would destroy us and finally we know how to identify you and what you are about and the push back has started, which scares the left.

          1. “You are the prime example of that which I speak of above. You are the willing tool of those who would destroy us and finally we know how to identify you and what you are about and the push back has started, which scares the left.”

How would I destroy us exactly? I understand our democratic republic is an exercise of riding a razor’s edge, never moreso than now. Does are system have problems? Of course, it is a system borne of humans to organize humans, and that’s the problem. Who are the people in the process of attempting to remove and/or denigrate our Constitution and Amendments? Shallow upstarts and the self-serving. Your lot is actively working to remove the core ideals that are the framework of this country. I guess Ben Franklin really understood the unique period of which he was part. He knew the constant onslaught of self-possessed simpletons would be the ultimate end of it; not some preconceived threat from outside.

  14. Omar is a U.S. citizen who is “home.” She has succeeded in coming to his country as a child and became a member of Congress. That is precisely what this country is meant to stand for. She is trying to make this country a better place
    ***************
Funny, I find her an ungrateful, anti-American (“I ashamed”), anti-Semitic (“The Benjamin’s”) bigot who refuses to condemn an attack by Antifa on law enforcement and whose idea of making America “a better place” means more like Mogadishu. Anyone who opposes her socialist agenda is called a “racist” and anyone who dares suggest she ought to love the country that took her in from a refugee camp, fed, clothed, educated and put her in a position to succeed is a “xenophobe.” She’s American as Kisra.

    1. Mespo, I find the guy who publicly takes the side of Putin against our intelligence agencies and then refuses to take steps to stop his further interference in our elections (while also justifying Russian murdering of political opponents as something we do) and then defends Lil’ Kim against the parents of a young man he murdered as anti-American.

      How about you?

      1. Too bad Bush didn’t take the word of Saddam over our intelligence agencies when they assured us Iraq had yellow cake uranium on the word of the aptly named secret source “Curveball.” A lot of good Americans might still be alive.

        1. Nice try nespo, but our intelligence agencies labelled Chalabi a liar and at no time said Iraq had a credible nuclear program. I followed these events at that time and opposed that war – how about you.

Now, what about Trump’s anti-American actions by failing to defend our electoral process, defending Putin against the findings of our intelligence agencies, and Lil’ Kim against the parents of the young American man he murdered

            1. “unconventional weapons” is not a nuclear program – it turned out to be left over mustard gas from the Iranian war – and everyone knew that, though W and Condi tried to sell it as such to a gullible American public. I and many others didn’t buy it – the IAEA was telling the truth – how about you?

Meanwhile the evidence against the Russians is not debatable at this point. Trump is a traitor who is still helping the Russians by refusing to act against their future interference in our elections.

              1. https://www.davidstuff.com/political/wmdquotes.htm
The belief that Saddam had WMDs went far beyond a little leftover “mustard gas”.
Those with conveniently selective memories should review statesments made long before Gulf War II was launch in 2003.
Things came to a head in 1998 when the U.N. pulled out its inspectors due to lack of cooperation from and harrassment by the Iraqis.

                1. “Earlier today I ordered America’s armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. We are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq’s NUCLEAR, CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL weapons programs…”

                  ++++

“Sadam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors, or the world, with nuclear arms, poison gas, or biological weapons.”

He goes on to explain he made this decision based on a UNANIMOUS recommendation of his national security team.

                  — President Bill Clinton, December 16, 1998.

              2. “Trump is a traitor who is still helping the Russians by refusing to act against their future interference in our elections.”
                *******************
Treason’s a crime. Trump is not a traitor just someone you disagree with. There’s considerable debate about the degree of influence the Russians’ $40,000.00 worth of untargeted Facebook ads had on the election. If Trump cured cancer, negotiated world peace and deposited a million large in everyone’s bank account, you’d still have a criticism.

It truly shows the state of things when that flimsy charade has handicapped government going on three years. I guess it’s a testament to the quality of mass public education. You would think with all the information available today that even the most lazy of individuals would see the same old propaganda trope being rolled out one more time. I actually thought Clinton and DNC would have been ridiculed over the farcical notion, but I overestimated the average intelligence level of that lot. But–it does sound like there is some truth to come out about the real source of the DNC “LEAK” (to be clear, not “HACK”). I encourage the DNC faithful to explore the meaning so they understand there is a clear difference.

                2. NO mespo, the only debate is is on Fox news. The Russians interfered in our 2016 election, just as they have several European elections and Trump is colluding with them in broad daylight by defending he who apparently owns him and failing to take any actions to discourage him from doing it again. He also defended Li Kim against the parents of the young American he murdered. He’s anti-American and a traitor.

                  1. “NO mespo, the only debate is is on Fox news. The Russians interfered in our 2016 election, just as they have several European elections and Trump is colluding with them in broad daylight…”

I don’t think putting ads on Facebook is big interfering. And, the DNC data was LEAKED. Please see above. If it was something else, why won’t the DNC turn the server over to the FBI.

That whole episode will see the light of day soon, hopefully. But do consider going for the DNC bait. And yes, the Loch Ness Monster is still lurking about too.

              3. Is the Russophobic brand of xenophobia pushed by the Democrats, Rachel Madcow, and the rest of the hysterical anti-Trump media, for the past 3 years acceptable? Russia! Russia! Russia!! Is this kind of xenophobic fear-mongering okay because it was all about “getting Trump”?? Please.

              4. Evidence against the Russians IS DEBATABLE at this point. Where is the PROOF that Russia hacked the DNC server? Where is the server? Why was the FBI forensic team not allowed to examine the server? The narrative being pushed out by the Democrats and their media IS ENTIRELY DEBATABLE Doofus.

              5. What did Obama do to ACT against Russian interference when he thought Hillary was a shoe-in to win? Oh that’s right, Obama told Vladimir to “cut it out”…..

Wait, was that before Obama told him that he would “have more flexibility after his election”….?

If you believe one word that comes out of Rachel Madcow’s mouth at this point, you are a fool.

                1. Obama talked to McConnell asking for a bi-partisan statement and approach as he knew his bringing it up publicly would otherwise start a knee jerk partisan war over his supposed attempts tp influence the election. McConnell turned him down. After the election he made the information public and instituted new sanctions on Russia – to go with the ones already in place over Georgia and the Ukraine – which Flynn called told them to not worry about once Trump got in office.

Obama did not defend Putin against our intelligence and do nothing like our traitor president Trump

                  1. No, Obama did not “defend Putin”….he just told Vladimir that he would have “more flexibility” after his election.

And yes, isn’t it convenient to scapegoat McConnell? It wasn’t Obama’s fault, no, it was the very bad obstructionist Republicans again. It’s Mitch McConnell’s fault, of course! Just imagine what Barry and Joe could have done IF NOT FOR THE Big Bad Mitch McConnell standing in their way? That is their narrative and they are sticking to it. How convenient.

It’s called politics and McConnell knows how to play the game. Obama knows how to whine about it and play the victim card always blaming the Republicans and Fox News. Weak.

                  2. Oh and remember when Obama scolded Romney in the debate condescendingly pronouncing that the Cold War is over, Russia is not our biggest geopolitical foe, and “the 80s called and they want their foreign policy back”….remember that? Yeah. But how ’bout that Obama. He sure stood up to Putin. My ass.

                    1. Here is Obama “standing up” to Russia’s President, Dmitry Medvedev. Makes you wanna break out the Macho-man video:

          1. Too bad you didn’t get to SOS Colin Powell before he said just that to the UN and now regrets it. He said:

“Thanks to intelligence they were provided, the inspectors recently found dramatic confirmation of these reports. When they searched the home of an Iraqi nuclear scientist, they uncovered roughly 2,000 pages of documents. You see them here being brought out of the home and placed in U.N. hands. Some of the material is classified and related to Iraq’s nuclear program.”

If this is how you follow events, your unlettered commentary is no longer a mystery:

              1. Mespo,
I’ve never been able to find a written report by Joe Wilson following his “Niger Yellow cake” assignment”. He was “debriefed” by the CIA, and there are some unclassified reviews of the CIA interview(s).
If Wilson categorically stated ( in those interviews, at the time) that there was no Yellow cake transactions or attempts to purchase additional yellow cake by Iraq, I haven’t found it.
Wilson could have publically disputed Sec. Powell’s claim AT THE TIME that Powell made the claim, shortly before Gulf War II was launched. Instead, he came out with his OpEd 3-4 months after the start of GW II, when inspectors we’re coming up short on finding the suspected WMDs.
That “retroactive warning” given at that point in time was not really useful; it’s not like the coalition was gonig to re-instate Saddam’s regime, say “oops” , and leave. Had Wilson confidently and publically voiced his suspicions at the time of Sec. Powell’s address to the U.N., he’d have more credibility.

                1. Tom:

Yeah what do you do when you invade and decimate a country that kept the Iranians in check on flimsy evidence produced by the oxymoronic “intelligence community”? The spooks should have all walked the plank for the lives of brave Americans they cost for absolutely no reason. Best and brightest my arse!

              2. No nose is shrinking from smelling the BS you’re throwing trying to cover Trump’s tracks. Read above and stop with 2002 State Dept crap. That crew of GOP stooges were proven liars just like today’s.

            1. Mespo,
Don’t you remember talking to all of the Americans who “knew” before Gulf War II that Saddam had no significant WMD weapons or programs?😉
Those who claimed to “know” before Gulf WarII suddenly we’re a dime a dozen AFTER Gulf War II was launched and the inspectors didn’t find what they expected to find.
The debate was not over the existence of WMD/ WMD programs; the debate was whether we should dislodge Saddam’s Regine or continue sanctions due to his lack of cooperation with inspectors.

              1. Tom, I knew and it din’t take much to know it. You just had to read the actual CIA statements – see Tenet’s letter to Sen Bob Graham before the Oct 2002 vote to authorize for a good example – and the IAEA inspectors as well as use your head, an ability you apparently did not have then and don’t have now.

W and Condi closed the invasion on the fear of “nuclear clouds”. The fact you are still defending them says it all – a dime a dozen GOP sucker.

                1. That’s the handy thing about anonymously posting as anonymous……you can make any claim that you want to, like you had the WMD situation all figured out before Gulf War II.

                  1. view.

In the above dialogue, the witness’s qualifications–“in the foreseeable future, given the conditions we understand now”–were intended to underscore that the likelihood of Saddam using WMD for blackmail, deterrence, or otherwise grows as his arsenal builds. Moreover, if Saddam used WMD, it would disprove his repeated denials that he has such weapons.
This is part of Tenent’s letter, and I’ll try to post a link to the entire letter. There’s nothing in there that goes against the consensus that Saddam had WMD/ WMD programs, and I don’t know when the letter itself was made public.
A retroactive, anonymous claim by someone that this letter was the basis for concluding that Saddam had neither is suspect.

              2. “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”
~ January 2003 State of the Union speech, U.S. President George W. Bush

Wonder who gave him that info? Laura? Barney the dog?

                1. Mespo,
I posted the statements by members of the previous administration warning of dire consequences from Saddam’s WMD/ Weapons programs.
Bush 41, probably one of the best foreign policy presidents in a the last few generations, was roundly criticized by a lot of people for “not finishing the job”, going all the way to Bagfad and removing Saddam. I’ve heard some of those same people later claim that they knew Saddam should not have been removed.
75-80 Senators approved the Gulf War II Resolution, and about 2/3rds of the House. The U.N. inspection team pulled out in 1998 because they were not getting cooperation.
I think Richard Butler, an Australian, headed that team. Hans Blix, a Swede, testified to the U.N. that even at the critical moments in the weeks prior to Gulf War II, Saddam’s Regime still didn’t fully appreciate that complete and total cooperation with inspectors was vital.
So there was a strong consensus, internationally and beyond the CIA, that Saddam had the WMDs and/ or the WMD programs.
If Saddam was stupid enough to act like he had them……to counter Iran……he succeeded. As much as another other factor, the years of “cheat and retreat” and violations of U.N. sanctions put into place after the first Gulf War led to the near-universal belief that he was concealing the WMDs and the programs.
If the conclusion number is correct…..that Saddam intentionally bluffed about have the weapons/ programs……he might have deterred an attack from Iran, but he virtually guaranteed one from the U.S.-led coalition.

            2. mespo, Powell was lying then and later. The fact that you drag up the Sec of State and a 2002 Dept of State sheet as proof of anything regarding Iraq shows you still don;t know what happened and like Tom, one would guess, were big supporters of the war then. You seem perfectly unable to discern a con job whether it’s coming from W and Rice and Powell or Trump now. Our intelligence then never said Saddam had yellowcake or any nuclear program that was a threat. They said – as Tom’s link to Woodward’s book shows – that he probably had “unconventional weapons” meaning mustard gas, and he did have old stock from the war with Iran. W and Condi and Powell spun that into WMD’s and mushroom clouds. You bought it. Tom bought it. Now you’re buying Trump’s self serving BS.

              1. Anonymous;

I opposed the war in Iraq as a meaningless gesture by Bush and reckless foreign policy in dislodging an enemy of our enemy. I always thought the CIA was behind it as payback for the Iraqi “hit squad” on the elder BUsh. The CIA let “W” say those 16 words in the SOTU without objection. I wonder why? Or not.

              2. Anonymous,
I think you should just keep “guessing” and retroactively claiming that you knew all along that there were no significant WMD/ WMD programs.
Maybe you could have sent an “anonymous note” to the Bush Administration, the strong majority in Congress that voted for Gulf War II, and the international community about what you “knew” all along.😄

      2. “Mespo, I find the guy who publicly takes the side of Putin against our intelligence agencies and then refuses to take steps to stop his further interference in our elections (while also justifying Russian murdering of political opponents as something we do) and then defends Lil’ Kim against the parents of a young man he murdered as anti-American.

        How about you?”

Where you do you people keep coming from?? The world isn’t an 80s Schwarznegger flick. Do you ring your hands every night and check under your bed to see if Putin or Rocky’s Drago is under there??

The ending threat for nations comes from the inside. Just like the end-of-Rome type facilitators many are trying to throw out of DC right now. “The Squad,” as it were.

Repeat after me: “Movies (and the mainstream news, I guess…) are MAKE-BELIEVE.” Half and hour or so and it should start sinking in for you.

  15. Something liberals and leftists (how redundant) just don’t get, despite their superior “intelligence”. Few Trump supporters view him as libs viewed Obama in 2008. They like him DESPITE his mistakes and problems. Is Trump perfect, FAR FROM IT! But he is the best we have now. Is he going to save us? No, but he buys us time.

AND TRUMP IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! We are not going to back beltway, Chamber of Commerce, milquetoast, lose honorably, “conservatism” which actually conserves very little, a “conservatism” which was in many ways the liberalism of 20 years ago.

I am not a CONSERVATIVE, and never refer to myself as such.

    antonio

  16. Unfortunately Trump is a terrible stain on the office of the president and like many has completely taken Omar’s quote out of context. You may want to check fact-check (dot) org to read it in context. His supporters would probably vote for him if he shot someone in the head in Times Square as he once said. Terrible.

    1. Unfortunately that’s how the political game is played. Trump’s comments are always taken out of context in whichever way does the most damage to Trump or the Republicans. The media works hand in hand with Democrats to accomplish.

  17. Not just a basket of deplorables, which they are, a bushel basket full of racists. They aren’t Native Americans, send them back where they came from.

      1. If you are not Native American or at least part, you came from an immigrant family, just as the 3 other ladies did and the bloated racist fascist in the White House. Go back where you came from.

          1. So they just appeared out of thin air? Weird, I didn’t think you progressives believed in creationism. Or was it just an amazing coincidence that they evolved exactly like the humans half a world away.

            1. Perhaps you should study their history, not the history written by the Wasichu.

Look at it anyway you want anybody that supports the bloated fascist is a racist also.

              1. So you are saying that mans origin came from North America? Haven’t heard that one before.

And, sure, you didn’t mind fascist tendencies from the previous president. Or is a fascist ok as long as he is skinny and black? You sound racist and like a body shamer.
