“MAGA Teens Are Modern Day Hitlerjugend”: Controversial Mississippi Professor Renews Attacks Shortly After Gaining Tenure

University of Mississippi law professor James Thomas has previously caused a stir with intemperate comments about how conservative senators like Ted Cruz “don’t deserve your civility” and how people should attack them in public. Thomas, who was recently given tenure over opposition at the school, is back in the news by declaring that “MAGA teens are modern day Hitlerjugend [Hitler Youth]. Got a uniform and everything.”

Thomas identifies himself as “Husband. Father. Sociologist. Sower of Discourse. Slayer of Nazis. Author of books. Tenured (with dissent) since 2019.”

His tenure was indeed controversial. Thomas dew considerable ire with his comments following the protests against Cruz at a restaurant, which I criticized in the past. Thomas celebrated the action and encouraged others to be even more aggressive: “don’t just interrupt a Senator’s meal, y’all. Put your whole damn fingers in their salads. Take their [appetizers] and distribute them to the other diners. Bring boxes and take their food home with you on the way out. They don’t deserve your civility.”

The school recommended Thomas for tenure but the decision was debated by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.  A divided board upheld the recommendation of the school. In my view, it was the correct decision. There is no evidence that Thomas’ intolerant and reckless comments on social media have been manifest in his conduct as an academic or teacher. It is certainly a matter of concern since the school likely has a significant number of students that Thomas considers Hitler youth. Yet, the school reviewed his record and not incident has been reported that show that Thomas’ extreme views on social media have influenced his teaching or treatment of students.

After the tenure vote, Thomas is back again spewing intolerant and offensive remarks on social media.

Thomas reaffirmed his earlier screed:

I know little about Thomas or his background. What little interest I had in that background evaporated with his latest tweet. However, his tenure vote highlights an ongoing concern for those of us in the free speech community. I support the right of faculty — and all people — to be able to espouse controversial views (even offensive views) in their private time so long as those views do not interfere with their employment.

As we have previously discussed (including a story involving an Oregon professor), there remains an uncertain line in what language is protected for teachers in their private lives. The incident also raises what some faculty have complained is a double or at least uncertain standard. We have previously discussed controversies at the University of California and Boston University, where there have been criticism of such a double standard, even in the face of criminal conduct. There were also such incident at the University of London involving Bahar Mustafa as well as one involving a University of Pennsylvania professor. Some intolerant statements against students are deemed free speech while others are deemed hate speech. There is a lack of consistency in these actions which turn on the specific groups left aggrieved by out-of-school comments.

“FBI Director Christopher Wray said Tuesday that the agency has made about 100 domestic terrorism-related arrests since October, and the majority were tied to white supremacy.

”I will say that a majority of the domestic terrorism cases that we’ve investigated are motivated by some version of what you might call white supremacist violence, but it does include other things as well,” Wray said at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, referring to cases in fiscal 2019, which began Oct. 1….”

Anna Wintour Shaded Melania Trump for Michelle Obama & We’re Screaming

Don’t expect this First Lady on the cover of Vogue. Anna Wintour shaded Melania Trump for Michelle Obama, and we’re screaming. The Vogue Editor-in-Chief was interviewed on a recent episode of the podcast, The Economist Asks, where she was asked about the current First Lady’s fashion sense. Wintour’s response? Side-stepping the question completely in favor of former First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Conversation around Melania Trump started when Wintour and host Anne McElvoy discussed the First Lady and President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom in June. Wintour noted that she believes Trump “very consciously” wore British brands for the visit. McElvoy then asked Wintour for her thoughts about Trump’s recent fashion choices, which is when the conversation became a little more shady. Wintour answered by ignoring McElvoy’s question entirely and talking about Michelle Obama instead.

“Well, I think first lady Michelle Obama really was so incredible in every decision she made about fashion,” Wintour said. “She supported young American designers. She supported designers, indeed, from all over the world. She was the best ambassador that this country could possibly have in many ways, obviously, way beyond fashion.”

That’s when McElvoy circled the conversation back to Trump by asking, “But she’s not the first lady now. So what about the one you’ve got now?” But Wintour didn’t bite. Instead of saying her true thoughts on Trump’s fashion, the Vogue editor responded, “To me, [Obama] is the example that I admire”

However, Wintour didn’t avoid every Trump question. In response to a question earlier in the interview about why Trump has been featured on Vogue’s website but never in the magazine, Wintour had this to say: “There’s so many women in politics that deserve celebration, whether it’s Kirsten [Gillibrand] or Senator Harris, or Senator Warren.

She continued, “We just recently ran a piece in our current issue about five of the six political female candidates, all of which I felt deserved a place in Vogue. And how wonderful that after a lot of naysayers saying that after [Hillary Clinton] not succeeding that it would be very difficult to find a voice in the current presidential campaigns. How wonderful that that is not the case. I think that both Senator Warren and Senator Harris are among the top candidates right now.”

McElvoy then asked if Trump is “not the right” person to feature in Vogue, to which Wintour responded, “I think it’s important for Vogue to support women who are leading change in this country.”

Wintour’s comments come after an April 2019 interview with CNN, in which she explained why Trump has been the only First Lady in recent terms to not be on the cover of Vogue. “You have to stand up for what you believe in and you have to take a point of view,” Wintour said. “We profile women in the magazine that we believe in the stand that they’re taking on issues we support them, we feel that they are leaders.”

In response to Wintour’s comments to CNN, a spokesperson for the First Lady told Fox News that a fashion cover “doesn’t define” Trump or her legacy. “To be on the cover of Vogue doesn’t define Mrs. Trump, she’s been there, done that long before she was first lady,” spokesperson Stephanie Grisham told Fox News in April. “Her role as first lady of the United States and all that she does is much more important than some superficial photo shoot and cover. This just further demonstrates how biased the fashion magazine industry is, and shows how insecure and small-minded Anna Wintour really is.”

Yikes on yikes on yikes. Yeah — doesn’t seem like we’ll see Melania Trump on the cover of Vogue any time soon.

  2. I tell the stupid professor Insurgent this much. IF you keep on calling Americans neonazis all the time, then like a bad child in trouble at elementary school who later becomes a crook, you may create a self fulfilling prophecy. and you will be sorry if you’re right.

  3. SEVERAL ISSUES HERE

If this law professor is telling students to confront politicians in restaurants with the intention of seizing their food and disrupting business, he is essentially encouraging criminal behavior. No university should grant tenure to an ‘academic’ like that.

But this statement, “MAGA teens are modern day Hitlerjugend”, is an exaggeration based on partial truth.

By now the mask is off regarding Trump’s racial views. There’s no pretending anymore. This president is openly appealing to racist sentiments. Consequently journalists, public officials and academics are perfectly justified in comparing Trumpism to a racist movement. Trump supporters deny this, of course. And that is the most disturbing aspect of this dark era; ‘the constant denials’. With Donald Trump, the truth is a lie and lies are the truth.

    1. “By now the mask is off regarding Trump’s racial views. There’s no pretending anymore. This president is openly appealing to racist sentiments.”
      ******************
And what exactly are his racial views? How is he appealing to “racist sentiments”? How can you appeal to a “sentiment” at all? I thought appeals were made to people? And who are these people with racist sentiments? If I make a statement that appeals to my potential voters like “I’ll make the buses run on time” and a group of white nationalists love it because they can ride the bus to rallies, am I appealing to “racist sentiments”? What about the appeal to my voters to have the buses run on time? Their “sentiments” don’t matter” Does my intent matter? If not, why not because you impute an intention I never had or considered having.

I call bullshark on all this “Trump is a racist” defamation. Put up or shut up ’cause a guy who runs an economy that employs more blacks than ever, who enjoys more support among blacks than all other Republican candidates and who appointed the first black, female Marine general seems an unlikely candidate for the title “racist.”

      1. Mespo, we’re past the denial stage. It’s in the open now. There’s no pretending anymore.

          1. TIA is ever so busy, solving the problems of the world one crappy comment at a time.

            1. Anonymous;

I look forward to TIA’s lettered commentary. It has the benefit of some intellectual candlepower behind it.

                    1. ““Cundy” was my slave name.”

Does that mean we have to pay you reparations? 🙂

              1. Sure mespo727272. His “intellectual candlepower” is going nowhere. And he’s certainly not always correct.; he gets away with a lot.

        1. Hill:

“Mespo, we’re past the denial stage. It’s in the open now. There’s no pretending anymore.”
          *********************************

Sort of like Big Foot sightings. I’ll take that reply as you have no proof or even an argument. Here’s a guy with a similar experience to my own.

          1. he’s racist because he’s not shafting white people.

so you can see, racist is actually just a name they call white folks who don’t play along.

it’s why i never call people racist one way or another, perjoratively, it’s meaningless. its usefull only to indicate the people who the left considers racist.

kind of like the N word. They can use the term, we can’t. Simple as that!

Free speech is illusory in the context of social pressure.

            1. More precisely, he isn’t deferential to Democratic Party mascot groups and he doesn’t issue apologies when the media try to manufacture sh!tstorms (in the form of covering loudmouth displays by members of Democratic Party mascot groups). Trump’s stances are perfectly defensible. They’re also a threat to the media and to professional loudmouths.

          2. Mespo: further down Estovir posted a video clip from the movie “West Side Story”. There I pointed out that a scene in that movie relates to our discussion here.

The scene is where the Jets and Sharks call a summit to discuss terms for the rumble they both crave. For a moment the summit breaks-down into name-calling. Amid the shouting, one of the Jets yells, “Go back to where you came from” to the Sharks.

“West Side Story” first opened on Broadway back in 1957, 62 years ago. So one can discern that “Go Back To Where You Came From” was already a well-worn racial then.

Therefore this idea that Trump meant no racial intent by tweeting that phrase last week is ludicrous. Trump was, in fact, a teen in the 1950’s like those “West Side Story” kids. Trump even lived in New York City then!

So like I said, we’re past the denial stage. It’s out in the open now. Liberals don’t have to document Trump’s racist sentiments anymore. We’re beyond that now. Trump supporters can no longer expect liberal commenters to ‘justify’ their ‘accusations’ that Trump is racist. And that idiot in the video above has no wisdom to add.

            1. Peter can’t even get Trump’s biography straight. He was 11 years old in 1957. Nor can he be bothered to quote Trump precisely.

                1. Nitpicking this fine suggest nothing else to say by the dynamic duo. Try again.

I took a date as a teen to see the WSS movie which was also very big, and Trump and I are only 2 years apart.

              1. Oh wow, I”m sorry Tabby..!! Geez, I screwed that up! Trump was only 11 in 1957. So he was too young to know that “Go Back To Where You Came From” was a racial taunt.

And I guess, in the 60 years since then, Trump never figured out that was a racial taunt. It was a fluke of an oversight where no one ever set him straight. So Trump is really just an innocent. That’s how stupid it gets.

            2. “Therefore this idea that Trump meant no racial intent by tweeting that phrase last week is ludicrous.”

Using Peter’s words not Trump, where is the racist intent? “Go Back To Where You Came From” What race is being discriminated against? I think you should go back to where you came from Peter. Is that racist as well? I don’t even know what race you are. You are sick and promoting racism where none exists. What type of person does that make you?

              1. Allan…….Yes, I want my reparations!
But since it’s actually stealing, I’ll take my $$ in unmarked bills.

            3. styx, that idiot, has got 380K followers, a not-small amount, that he earned and didn’t pay for, and tons of interesting content. i suspect that is a lot bigger than your following.

even if he is a goofy dude, he’s no idiot, just eccentric

          3. Gee mespo, who wouldn’t spend 13 minutes listening to someone like this. I mean he was important enough to get on YouTube.

            1. “I mean he was important enough to get on YouTube.”
              *****************************
Yeah, I really oughta be listening to some anonymous poster on the Turley blog!

      2. Sure mespo.

Trump’s past includes a settlement over findings of racist policies with his rental properties, derogatory comments and actions about blacks cited by named witnesses, early and persistent birtherism, public derogatory comments about Mexicans and Muslims as well as advocating dscriminatory policies towards them, calling some majority black countries s..h…s while yearning for Norwegian immigrants, calling black political opponents “low IQ”, defending neo-Nazi rallyers as having some fine people, reposting memes from neo-Nazi web sites, telling American citizens, all of them elected – unlike him – leaders and none of whom are Aryans, to go back where they came from, while egging on his supporters in a similar chant while giving the Mussolini head nod.

Black unemployment is historically low after the longest expansion since WWII, but the vast majority of those regained jobs occurred under Obama’s presidency, not Trumps, and even during a similar time span, Obama outperformed him in jobs.

As to black support, the GOP and Trump’s rallys are so white you need sunglasses to look at them and the one black guy they take from rally to rally to sit behind Trump is a relgious nut from Miami who was involved in a murder case.

“…The radical fringe activist from Miami once belonged to a violent black supremacist religious cult, and he runs a handful of amateur, unintelligible conspiracy websites. He has called Barack Obama “The Beast” and Hillary Clinton a Ku Klux Klan member. Oprah Winfrey, he says, is the devil.

Most curiously, in the 1990s, he was charged, then acquitted, with conspiracy to commit two murders.

Almost always, he plugs his wild website, Gods2.com, across his chest…”

Those people hear the dog whistle mespo. Are you deaf?

        https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2019/06/trump-racism-comments/588067/

        1. Everything you posted in that comment is a bald-faced lie.
You have taken any critical comment and labeled it “racist” if anyone involved was non-white. That is ridiculous.
And guess what, moron – only racists hear dog whistles.

As always, paragraphs like this could never survive a thorough and meticulous parsing wherein the actual incidents and quotations are brought out, placed in context and assessed.

          1. “As always, paragraphs like this could never survive a thorough and meticulous parsing”

Of course not. It sounds like Enigma is doing the talking and Enigma gave up on these claims because it made him look like an idiot. Soon we are going to hear Trump is a racist because of something happening almost 20 years before he was born. I am forced to deal with the ignorant rental properties argument. NYC and the Feds tried to get Trump on this more than once and they did so because they wanted to play gotcha with a well known developer and make an example of him to all the other developers and real estate holders. Instead of picking on a person who shakes in his boots when he hears thunder they picked on a Clint Eastwood type who said “make my day”. Eastwood did that in real life as well as the movies most notably when being sued for ADA violations. He won (a fascinating case I discussed once before).

Did Trump lose that case on discrimination? No. Did either NYC or the feds get what they wanted? No. That makes the statement made on housing discrimination ignorant as usual and demonstrates why nothing from that individual should be trusted.

Thank you DSS for pointing out that such rhetoric “could never survive a thorough and meticulous parsing”

          1. …And sometimes they provide strong arguments. What does that tell you?

            1. Youtube is snark and very funny, while Wah Puhrz is tart and a whiny rag. Not surprisingly Peter Shill uses the tart one

              😉

    2. Peter, you seem to be totally unaware of the difference between political and racist comments. Perhaps that is due to the fact that the left including yourself is on a diet of race baiting. Trump is the furthest thing from a racist and your comments are quite bizarre. Maybe you are afraid of blacks voting for Trump. I note that whenever you hear discussion of a black conservative you dismiss that black conservative as some sort of trash.

      1. Pretty much. As the wag says, ‘racist’ is someone winning an argument with a liberal.

  4. I’m all for intellectual and free speech liberties, and even the institution of tenure. but they have a job to do and if the professors have sunk to the level of Red Guard propagandists, then they are as bad as a teacher who never shows up, and should simply be fired.

incompetence and dissent are two different things. dissent should be protected, not incompetence.

also malice and dissent are two different things. this guy is malicious. that is very harmful for him to be in a position to maliciously abuse his students but is all above it himself

    so much for equality!

  5. A bit confused. Thomas is a Democrat meaning a Socialist. Hitlerjugend were also socialists So why is he bitching about his own kind.

    Bolsheviks begat International Socialism
    International Socialists begat progressive socialists
National socialists were and are and offshoot of this same genesis
in 1898 the progressive socialists came to USA invited by Wilson
in 1909 he was sworn in as President and brought socialists into government
who then took over the Slave Party and made it the anti civil rights party
So why is he bitching about his own kind?
As George Carlin put it.. characterizing the whole bunch
    “Smiley Faced Fascists”
    Which would include that profressor.

  6. Why would a conservative student file an incident report against a bigoted teacher, when most universities, and the professors therein, share those views?

If any student complained, they would likely be afraid that their academic career would be ruined by the other teachers.

In order to investigate if this virulently hateful professor was biased against conservative students, they should have used a plant. Get someone who is not a student to wear a MAGA hat in his class, turn in papers, etc. See if he is able to grade fairly.

Universities have become little more than Democrat madrassas, creating a climate of fear and bigotry against Republican students.

Our country should review all establishments that receive taxpayer funding for political bias. NPR, PBS, and universities should not receive taxpayer money if they are purely Democratic institutions. Perhaps then, they will be for all people, and not just Leftists. I don’t want to fund the brainwashing of impressionable people to vote Democrat and whitewash its policy failures.

    1. He never would have gotten tenure if he had a similar attitude towards Latinos or black people. Without question.

Parents should vote with their wallets. If universities want to become political teams, then parents will just have to choose the school they send their children to wisely. It apparently will no longer matter what academic rigor a school possesses. If it presumes to become a Democratic club, totally intolerant of opposing ideas or conservative students, the Republican parents shouldn’t waste their money there.

Why ever would a parent save money for years just to send their child to a school where he will be harassed?

  7. One could make a strong argument that if Germany in the 1930’s had a “culture of loyalty” to a constitutional rule of law that protected individual liberties – like our Bill of Rights – the German people would have rejected the Nazi Party altogether and Hitler would have never gained power. Germany was humiliated after World War I and the German citizenry embraced “authoritarianism”. The citizenry and the government officials in Germany swore supreme loyalty to one person and one party instead of loyalty to a constitution guaranteeing individual liberties. In that 1930’s system, treason was NOT supporting that one person or that one party. By contrast, the American model of government, under Article I, II and IV of the U.S. Constitution, a government official – from the local police officer to the FBI to the CIA – swears supreme loyalty to the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. During the Cold War, East Germany created a “Stasi” (or communist secret police force) to search and investigate citizens without a judicial warrant and without probable cause of committing a crime, to police political speech and political activity. Our First Amendment, Fourth Amendment and remaining Bill of Rights outlaws such practiced in the USA. Starting with the War on Drugs [4th Amendment subversion-warrantless searches] and continuing after 9/11 we largely abandoned the American model for the foreign style authoritarian model. Not a Trump fan myself, but subverting the American system didn’t start with Trump! Both parties played a part. The big question is how to restore the American “constitutional rule of law” system?

    1. perhaps you’re unaware of the constitutional nuances that enabled Hitler’s sweeping powers. or perhaps not. but that was a function of their constitutional system at the time, and you are smugly dismissing that, as a preface to your point and question.

no matter how much people revile it, nonetheless, the central principle of every state throughout history is in fact, authority. auctoritas. all other princples are secondary because without authority there is no state in the first place. and even deeper foundation is potestas, power, but that’s a discussion nobody who is fixiated on bromides and shibboleths is ready to undertake

  8. The illogical, oxymoronic spaghetti in his bio says all we need to know. People with this mentality would get the shock of a lifetime if they ever left their towers, just like the students do. Absurd and crass. I want my tax dollars back, please.

  9. Your tuition dollars at work. I think during a seminal period, sociology, social psychology, and cultural anthropology acquired a critical mass of social ideologues whose presence set in motion an unsalutary feedback loop, making each cohort of academicians worse than the last. Now these are apologetical disciplines who exist to provide intellectual underpinning for social narratives. Academicians may produce a valid study, but the contemporary content of the discipline as a whole is propaganda. State governments need to consider discharging these faculties. Refoundation may be the only cure.

    1. Most of these fields publish works that are never referenced by a single other paper, except, occasionally, by the authors themselves.

      1. Most of these fields publish works that are never referenced by a single other paper, except, occasionally, by the authors themselves.

Get to know PubMed. Much of pre-clinical research depends on prior scientific studies, one building on the other. I can’t speak to the “social sciences” but advances in medicine do not have the luxury of being an N of 1 like this yahoo in Mississippi. I am stunned people like him are tenured and are funded.

        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/

      2. In and of itself, it wouldn’t distinguish these fields from any other field. Most published research is a dead end.

        1. More and more garbage is being published daily. There has been a growth of various periodicals. Material is needed to fill them and writing papers is frequently needed for advancement.

  10. The liberal fascists like this prof are projecting their racist views on others. They support the violence of the Always-Fa movement and targeted smear operations of the Democrat National Socialist (Dem NAZIs). Like so many of the radicals in these absurd departments of Diversity, he is uber focused on sewing racial animosity and creating racial seperatism to profit personally and gain power. He is not intemperate… he is a liar created by absurd liberalism now a religion to the illiberal Left. The American Left and yes, the Democrats, are responsible for this type of evil. And Dr. Turkey, he is NOT “intemperate”, he is a hate-mongering fascist.

    1. i reject the characterization of both Trump and the ANTIFA sort as fascists. it really applies to neither.

study dr roger griffin’s work, he’s about the only theorist of fascism worth reading. trust me, i have plumbed these shallows, and there’s not much to find besides him.

    1. Staggering. No wonder Americans do not trust the Government nor the news media.
      Duuuhhh!

      From your link:

Sources tell RealClearInvestigations that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon file a report with evidence indicating that Comey was misleading the president. Even as he repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent.

Two U.S. officials briefed on the inspector general’s investigation of possible FBI misconduct said Comey was essentially “running a covert operation against” the president, starting with a private “defensive briefing” he gave Trump just weeks before his inauguration. They said Horowitz has examined high-level FBI text messages and other communications indicating Comey was actually conducting a “counterintelligence assessment” of Trump during that January 2017 meeting in New York.

      1. It pays to be cautious with these stories. Still, wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

  11. This faculty member is a fraud but that is the fault of the university for enabling him. His list of “scholarly work” in “reputable peer review publications” is embarrassing.

Despite record investment in diversity infrastructure, racial inequality persists in higher education. … In this article, I make use of more than two years of ethnographic fieldwork to describe and analyze diversity’s articulation at Diversity University (DU), a public, flagship university in the American South. My findings reveal what I characterize as a diversity regime: a set of meanings and practices that institutionalizes a benign commitment to diversity, and in doing so obscures, entrenches, and even intensifies existing racial inequality by failing to make fundamental changes in how power, resources, and opportunities are distributed. I identify three key components of DU’s diversity regime. Condensation illustrates how diversity’s definitional work disassociates it from race-consciousness, which I define as a shared meaning of diversity that centers the need to redistribute power, resources, and decision making among historically underrepresented groups. Decentralization highlights the absence of institutional oversight over diversity activities, a lack of coordination across divisions and departments, and the resulting frustrations among those involved. Finally, staging difference centers on DU’s strategic deployment of people of color, which gives the impression of transformative change. Diversity workers are cognizant and critical of this staging, expressing a sense of feeling like props and recognizing they gain little, if any, additional power and control over decision making or resource management.

    1. Estovir, my next step was to look at one of his papers, but you provided enough of his gibberish so I don’t have to. It reminds me of a discussion on this blog before. I will quote from a random article about this type of nonsense. The last sentence is the most important.

Three US researchers have pulled off a sophisticated hoax by publishing fake research with ridiculous conclusions in sociology journals to expose what they see as ideological bias and a lack of rigorous vetting at these publications.

Seven of the 20 fake articles written by the trio were accepted by journals after being approved by peer-review committees tasked with checking the authors’ research.

A faux study claiming that “Dog parks are Petri dishes for canine ‘rape culture'” by one “Helen Wilson” was published in May in the journal Gender, Place and Culture.

The article suggests that training men like dogs could reduce cases of sexual abuse.

Faux research articles are not new: one of the most notable examples is physicist Alan Sokal, who in a 1996 article for a cultural studies journal wrote about cultural and philosophical issues concerning aspects of physics and math.

This time the fake research aims at mocking weak vetting of articles on hot-button social issues such as gender, race and sexuality.

The authors, writing under pseudonyms, intended to prove that academics in these fields are ready to embrace any thesis, no matter how outrageous, so long as it contributes to denouncing domination by white men.

“Making absurd and horrible ideas sufficiently politically fashionable can get them validated at the highest level of academic grievance studies,” said one of the authors, James Lindsay, in a video revealing the project.

Lindsay—that is his real name—obtained a doctorate in mathematics in 2010 from the University of Tennessee and has been fully dedicated to this project for a year and a half.

One of the published journal articles analyzes why a man masturbating while thinking of a woman without her consent commits a sexual assault.

Another is a feminist rewrite of a chapter of “Mein Kampf.”

Some articles—such as a study of the impact of the use of an anal dildo by heterosexual men on their transphobia —even claimed to rely on data such as interviews, which could have been verified by the journal gatekeepers.

For that “study” the authors claimed to have interviewed 13 men. In the dog article, the authors claimed to have examined the genitals of nearly 10,000 canines.

*******”If our project shows anything, it shows that what’s coming out of these disciplines cannot currently be trusted,” Lindsay told AFP.********

    2. He doesn’t do stats. (Of course, social psychologists produce quantitative research which cannot be replicated). An elderly anthropologist who’d done fieldwork in Kenya and Tanganyika once had this to say about sociologists’ ethnography: ‘what sociologists call ‘ethnography’ I wouldn’t call ethnography”.

This tells us the sociology department at Ole Miss (which is, ahem, a research university) is pleased to grant tenure to 3d rate hacks.

    3. some of this left wing racial garbage from academics is not as bad as it sounds. you have to read between the lines. occasionally one can pull insights from it like diamonds from the dust underneath a pile of manure.

  12. If it walks like a neo-nazi, talks like a neo-nazi, wears a neo-nazi hat (MAGA) if must be a neo-nazi, racist white supremacist. Heil trump.

    1. If it walks like a neo-nazi, talks like a neo-nazi, wears a neo-nazi hat (MAGA) if must be a neo-nazi, racist white supremacist.

However, your MAGA perception is ANTIFA’s reality.

      Try again.

    2. Yep. The Puerto Ricans know what to do when they find out that their governor is shown to be corrupt and attacks the people he is supposed to govern via his emails. They demand his resignation and when he refuses they demand impeachment. We have a president who is shown to be corrupt and who makes personal attacks on the people he is supposed to govern. it is in the open every day with his tweets and those who speak out get criticized for it. Otherwise, crickets.

      1. The Puerto Ricans know …..

….how to take but not give, how to consume but not produce, how to destroy but not build upon their territoty

Intelligent hardworking Puerto Ricans left the island and many of those who remain loathe the many political parties for decades that have sunk their homeland into the sea. The best thing is to emancipate PR, let them run their island without US involvement, and then watch how many protest, stay and work knowing there no longer exists American subsidies. Few would survive. Fewer would stay.

Government sponsored Welfare ruins people and cultures, except for paid trolls like you that earn a living to make marxist political leaders more powerful and dictatorial

Puerto Rico My heart’s devotion Let it sink back in the ocean – West Side Story

        1. Estovir, thank goodness for Trump or we could be like Puerto Rico in a couple of years.

          1. I studied medicine in PR years ago and I see the US following the same exact path of PR, Cuba, Venezuela, et al

In PR the locals were deeply divided on people living off of “el mantengo” (Spanish for welfare). Those who worked largely left while those dependent on “el mantengo” have stayed. Departing for America for the latter would mean working, sacrificing, assimilating and learning English, all anathema.

PR was a great island when I studied there but I no longer recognize the place. Muy triste…very sad

            1. I used to take quick vacations to Puerto Rico but that never afforded me an opportunity to see the real island. The medical school is an old one. I know its students had to be bilingual but do they teach in English or Spanish?

              1. Since PR is a US territory, all 4 MD schools in PR are accredited as US medical schools by the US accrediting agency, the LCME. Pre-Clinical years (instruction/didactic classes) lasts 2 years and is in English given that the medical board exams are in English. Clinical Rotations are the latter 2 years and in PR is in Spanish considering that the population is Puerto Rican.

PR was a beautiful place with magnificent resorts, beaches, restaurants and the people were largely diverse: educated, researchers, physicians, engineers, etc as well as campesinos /jabaros, and humble folk. The island suffered greatly these past 5 years with a brain drain and what has stayed behind are people who depend on the US subsidies to sustain them since their agricultural independence was flattened and their ability to produce has been supplanted with imports. America is not too far behind

                1. Thank you for answering my question. It seems Puerto Rican Medical schools are run the same way as American Medical schools. I know of Puerto Ricans that went to medical school in Puerto Rico but I am unfamiliar with mainland Americans going to medical school there. I assume the entrance requirements are difficult like the mainland schools.

“The island suffered greatly these past 5 years with a brain drain and what has stayed behind are people who depend on the US subsidies ”

One of the problems I have with immigration is it can create a brain drain which is unfair to the nation from where the immigrant came. It also acts as a safety valve to governments that aren’t treating their citizens fairly and indirectly promotes those things we don’t want to see.

                  1. It is harder to get into medical school in PR because you must know Spanish. Clinicals are strictly in Spanish. I am a US Citizen but not from here which is why I proudly tell Americans to leave if they hate America like Omar Ilhan, Enigma and all leftists who disparage America.

Given that PR is a US Territory and are LCME accredited, all 4 MD schools there have the same exact curriculum as the 50 states MD schools. Tuition in PR is a fraction of the cost in US schools. Some MD schools in America today are over $90K / year for tuition alone (Illinois).

Unlike law students, MD students must pass multiple board exams during medical school to earn the MD Degree, then upon graduation take another series of board exams within specific area of specializations to practice. It doesn’t matter which MD school you attend as they all offer the same curriculum. What matters is the training a new MD graduate receives after medical school called Residency, (think of OTJ) and that can determine a lot. Getting into Residency is largely contingent upon medical board exam scores during medical school.

Medicine is a business just like education. Medical education is far worse.

                    1. ” I am a US Citizen but not from here ”

                      Nothing wrong with being naturalized.

Medicine depends a lot on the individual’s ability to learn on his own and to teach those with less experience while learning from those with more. I don’t know that our medical education is that bad though I suspect that the pool of individuals going into the field of medicine has changed. I think we ask too much of the medical profession. It exists for the most part to treat disease, but that idea has changed considerably.

            2. I had a PR client, a doctor, who was swell.

I know another who is not so swell. a gentleman and a competent doctor, but unusually successful. one wonders how the feds pick the targets for their “investigations” sometimes.

as a lawyer I have a general thought about cases of various kinds, which is based on experience. you need a good witness who will hang for the distance, or the case will end up a waste of time.

so if nobody will talk, all kinds of interesting things are “possible”

              1. one wonders how the feds pick the targets for their “investigations” sometimes.

Billing practices particularly fraudulent Medicare billing practices, as well as writing prescriptions for scheduled drugs (drug’s abuse or dependency potential) while seeing patients minimally or not at all.

                as a lawyer….based on experience…

What separates law from medicine is that the practice of medicine is practiced as an art based on data and experience, whereas lawyering is an art based on shooting from the hip or philosophical reasoning. Michael Avenatti is the former while Turley is the latter

                1. in theory that’s what the feds do
in practice, they do more what i said: they select the prosecutions against doctors which can be proven with the help of steady cooperating witnesses. almost always ex employees.

                  keep that in mind doc

              2. “one wonders how the feds pick the targets for their “investigations””

Very poorly at least where Medicare fraud is involved and in the process Medicare hurt physicians that did nothing wrong. Many of their actions in dealing with questions of billing are ilegal and many times Medicare has been taken to court and lost. I can’t say that is the same for the present or recent past though I suspect it hasn’t changed.

            3. i think the best translation for el mantengo would be maintenance. captures both the root of the word, fits with common usages, and echoes the sense of the word “maintenance” a form of income a lazy ex wife will get from a divorce proceeding

        2. don’t be too hard on Boricuas, there’s a lot to like. yes, mostly the food and music and good times, but other stuff too.

        3. Estovir, it’s interesting you should post this. There’s a scene in West Side Story where one of the Jets tells the Sharks to “Go Back To Where You Came From”.

Question: Was that Jet giving friendly advice? Of course not! That phrase was already an old insult, with racial overtones, when West Side Story opened on Broadway in 1957.

          1. the native Americans failed to convince the European colonists to “go back where they came from” and look where it got them!

we should take a lesson from that. the right lesson.

      2. Crickets? I support the use of impeachment to remove a President. If the evidence is there, then bring it. Horowitz, Huber, Barr, they’ll bring it.

    3. Sgt how is your perception of right and wrong determined? Do you use facts or is your perception dominated by emotion? We can assume the latter for if you actually used facts you would be letting the world know what they were. Let’s hear and discuss them.

      1. https://truthout.org/articles/trumps-race-baiting-evokes-nuremberg-rallies/ You can start with that and if you can’t understand there is no use in going any further. If you and people like you want to believe in the bloated fascist, go ahead, you are bringing fascism home to roost. And we shall all reap the whirlwind. Study a little history and see the comparisons between what happened in Germany and Italy to what the bloated fascist is doing today. If it doesn’t scare you well then better get a brown shirt.

Sorry, don’t like ANTI FA but only because they start problems and destroy what doesn’t need to be destroyed, they don’t protect. In fact they remind me a lot of COINTEL during my time. Not a damn thing wrong in fighting back against neo-nazis.

        1. Sgt, what you are doing is throwing up a hit site that intentionally twists words and ideas. Why are you unable to provide in your own words the actual facts that you believe are written in the article? That is the essence of the problem. The left refuses to discuss the facts because the facts are not in their favor.

Lot’s of rhetoric but short on facts. I await your significant facts specific to Trump. If you are empty of facts that you can argue with then emotion, which is mostly what that article is all about, is controlling your perception of right and wrong. I’m open to the failures of Trump because he is human but I am not open to the emotional arguments of the left that litter the blog.

        2. It is hardly a great leap of imagination to get from this awful scene in 2019 U.S. back to Germany in the mid-1930s: the Sturmabteilung — primed by Hitler’s demagogic, anti-Semitic rantings in the early Nazi years –

The reality is for 3 years we’ve had nothing but great leaps of imagination as to what might happen, what we should expect, what this ultimately leads to, yada, yada, yada. So what has actually happened instead? [irony alert!] The very people invoking President Trump as the second-coming of Hitler, the next Nazi regime and his contingent of brown-shirted thugs, have actually incited their base to actually do what they keep warning might be done.

Not a damn thing wrong in fighting back against neo-nazis.

So Marine, are you going to fight against actual perpetrators of violence being inflicted on our American citizens, or have you completely abandoned your oath to instead defend the actual violators of our constitutional rights?

        3. i think we all might be suprrised how many of ANTIFA are actually police informants and agent provocateurs, and how much certain agencies are presently doing which is precisely similar to COINTELPRO of decades past.

white “racist” organizations both in the 60s and ever since have been thickly populated with various sorts of snitches and informants and provocateurs. it’s often hard to know where the government “investigation” ends and where the “institgation” begins

I fear this is precisely the case with ANTIFA as well; potentially these ruffians acting with impunity act that way EXACTLY BECAUSE THEY ARE INFORMANTS OPERATING WITH A SENSE OF IMMUNITY FROM PROSECUTION

i cant prove this, just a hypothesis, but one people should be alerted to as a possibility

        4. sgtsabai says: July 23, 2019 at 10:13 AM:

“In fact they remind me a lot of COINTEL during my time.”

Then and now — especially since 9/11. Some call it the new COINTELPRO. How many of these MAGA teens might be participating is unclear, but there’s something rotten going on — and the tactics smack of COINTELPRO.

        5. ANTIFA does not “Fight back” it mostly is just a pack of aggressors preventing people from exercising their free speech rights of assembly and association

they are essentially anti-civil-rights-for-whites; which is ironic considering they claim to be against racism. racism against whites is ok in their viewpoint you see, because by definition, it its hate aimed at whites, it “cant be racism because of white privilege” etc etc. they seriously believe such things! they’re crazy, mostly

      2. He’s a dopey lout pretending to be a Vietnam vet. What’s the point of asking?

          1. absurd, you are a liar. Where did you serve or did you have bone spurs? Typical right wing personal attack.

Olly, if and when the time comes I will put my expertise to work against the destroyers of the Constitution, the trumpites and the right wing.

As I explained in an earlier article I spent some time talking with a friend who’s mother was alive during the Hitler period. I asked her how did this happen, did not the people see what was happening, why did they not resist, why did they not fight back. Simplified her answer was many, like the trumpites fell for the bull and others just did nothing thinking it would blow over. By the time they realized what was happening it had happened and they were powerless and too frightened to fight. At that time I did not believe it could/would ever happen in America and said so. I was wrong.

Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:

1.Powerful and Continuing Nationalism – “Make America Great Again!”

2.Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights – Donald’s open sanctioning of torture

3.Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause – Muslims or Mexicans take your pick.

            4.Supremacy of the Military – N/A

5.Rampant Sexism – Donald’s sexism is a matter of public record

6.Controlled Mass Media – Donald is advocating being able to sue any media outlet that writes something bad about him.

7.Obsession with National Security – Donald has played the terrorism card over and over again.

8.Religion and Government are Intertwined – Donald frequently questions the faith of his opponents and has even had a fight with the Pope over faith.

9.Corporate Power is Protected – One look at Donald’s economic plans will show you that.

10.Labor Power is Suppressed – Donald favors taking down the unions.

11.Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts – In fairness Donald shows a lot of disdain these are just among them

12.Obsession with Crime and Punishment – A major part of his campaign

            13.Rampant Cronyism and Corruption – N/A

14.Fraudulent Elections – Donald hasn’t directly been involved but his party is frequently responsible for fraudulent elections and stealing voter’s rights.

“To save your world you asked this man to die. Would this man, could he see you now, ask why?” W.H. Auden “Epitaph for an Unknown Soldier”

“As darkness does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances there is twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.” Justice William O. Douglas

            1. Typical right wing personal attack.

Actually, ordinary skepticism directed at people who post under pseudonyms but attempt to play trump cards derived from unverifiable biographical details. You want to discuss issues, discuss issues, not yourself.

                1. Hi Diane. The military has no need of disagreeable invalids, so they’re not taking you.

            2. Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of…..

Someone is due for a medication dose adjustment.

Lawrence W. Britt is not a doctor in any field but a novelist who compiled fourteen points which he believes define a Fascist regime. He is a novelist, with no formal training in political science or history and so his views on fascism should be viewed objectively and as an opinion rather than as fact or as a definition. He is widely known for using rhetoric to equate the modern Republican party with fascism and his work is largely deemed to be political opinion rather than analysis or study.

              George Orwell: What is Fascism?

the word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley’s broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else … Except for the relatively small number of Fascist sympathisers, almost any English person would accept ‘bully’ as a synonym for ‘Fascist’. That is about as near to a definition as this much-abused word has come

              http://www.orwell.ru/library/articles/As_I_Please/english/efasc

              1. More on Laurence Britt.

                https://blog.therightstuff.biz/2014/01/22/fascism-no-one-a-response-to-dr-laurence-britt/

There is no “Dr. Laurence Britt, political scientist” and there never was. There is only Laurence Britt, former executive and author of a single book, who wrote the 14 Signs. Far from being anything resembling an expert on politics, much less Fascism specifically, Britt is a former corporate executive who worked for such corporations as Allied Chemical, Mobil and Xerox Corp and studied business at Northwestern University.

So Britt is a giant thanks to the Left on the internet making stuff up and lying while employing emotions. Shocking.

Al Gore is to blame for “inventing” the internet
                😜

              2. Well, there’s that too. Britt’s list is arbitrary and historically illiterate. Sgt. Sabai adds lies and silly analogies.

            3. At that time I did not believe it could/would ever happen in America and said so. I was wrong.

              Sabai,

Have you ever asked yourself why so many that have also taken that same oath don’t share your opinion regarding this President and his administration? Isn’t it possible we also take a stand against fascism and violations of the constitution? Isn’t it possible we are just as woke as you believe you are to the threats facing this country? Don’t you ever step back and ask yourself why hasn’t all of your fears materialized from President Trump and his supporters, and instead the actual violations of the rule of law and rights are coming from the Left? If you are rational, if you use reason and logic, you have to ask these questions. Then you have to follow where the evidence takes you. Not words, but actual actions. Because we don’t impeach on rhetoric, we impeach on actions.

            4. Suharto, hardly a fascist, unless you want to define the average asian strongman a fascist. which would be a useless generalization. equally as useless as the sort of generalization that every arab strongman is a fascist. however, for some, it might apply, one can see some of the valid hallmarks of fascism in baathism. however, i’d take a baath party fascist over a muslim salafist jihaadi, anyday

              1. His list of examples discredits him right there. There have been no fascist regimes in Latin America, though you can and do have fruits and nuts throughout the military and police force (e.g. those Jacobo Timmerman encountered in 1977). You’ve had political movements with features of fascism (in El Salvador and Guatemala), but you’ve had no fascist regimes in Latin America. The term isn’t apposite for Suharto or Franco. Gamal Abd el-Nasser and the Ba’ath in Syria and Iraq are the closest to inter-war fascism in the post-war world.

                1. what do you think of Peronism as an incarnation of fascism, yes or no?

            5. ” like the trumpites fell for the bull and others just did nothing thinking it would blow over. ”

The problem with your logic is it isn’t Trump that is creating an environment for dictatorial and fascist type control rather it is the left that is doing so. Speech rules, Antifa, mass media control, etc. and for the most part most of the problems you mention.

Watch what happens to the bill to protect children from the drug trafficking cartels. The question is whether or not the left will permit DNA testing on children and the supposed parents crossing the border. Maybe some Democrats will recognize the need now that some of them are getting scared. I hope so, but to date the left has acted irresponsibly.

I note how you list complaints, but no factual proof to back up your contentions while such facts are continuously provided by the other side. That demonstrates how hollow your arguments are. Are you a machine that mindlessly does the bidding of the left or are you a marine?

              1. I note how you list complaints, but no factual proof to back up your contentions while such facts are continuously provided by the other side.

Well, no Allen. The complaining is the whole point.

        1. I have no doubt sabai is a Marine. Much in the same way Kermit Gosnell is a Doctor. Neither have any respect for oaths.

          1. I have kept my oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I spent time in jail for speaking truth to the power about Vietnam until released by the then Supreme Court. You know not of which you speak.

Will “absurd” who posts under pseudonyms then wish to discuss issues? I doubt it.

Yes emotion plays a part. I love my country, more so than any trumpites and I am not blinded by what is happening. Please tell me that the rally with “send her back” was not fascist with a smirking would be Mussolini on stage. Please tell me love it or leave it isn’t fascist and I’ve heard that many times.

Unfortunately you can’t say go back to me, not only was I born here I’m part Choctaw/Creek and a Veteran of Wounded Knee II 1973. Think I won’t fight?

            1. “Yes emotion plays a part. I love my country, more so than any trumpites”

Since you are reluctant to deal with facts how would know how “trumpites” feel?

The slogans such as “send her back” are not actions. They are words like “kill the umpire” at a baseball game. If you cannot distinguish the difference between those slogans and fascism then what you say has very little meaning. By the way Trump didn’t say that, people at a peaceful rally did. Democrats at not so peaceful demonstrations said “Kill Bush” which makes the entire left fascist according to your reasoning. The difference between mainstream right and mainstream left is that Antifa has been supported by the left.

” I spent time in jail for speaking truth to the power about Vietnam until released by the then Supreme Court. ”

I have a tendency to believe you. Care do share what you said? Don’t feel obligated. The US has done some bad and stupid things but overall the US has been a good nation and a positive influence on the world. So far Trump’s actual actions seem quite laudable. I can only look at him in comparison to previous Presidents and can’t judge any President standing alone for there is too much I do not know. I believe Trump may eventually be considered a great President. Your rhetoric, however, is one that represents a closed mind and labels everyone with a broad brush.

Don’t assume you are the only one to have faced crisis. Some of us have been exposed to more death than you might imagine and likewise know the suffering of people that seem to disagree with you entirely. Don’t be arrogant. Hold whatever position you wish but keep your mind open to the opinions of others.

            2. didn’t you say you lived in Thailand? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

So go back would mean you come back here.

        2. TIA says: “He’s a dopey lout pretending to be a Vietnam vet.”

          As if TIA would know.

        3. TIA offers: “He’s a dopey lout pretending to be a Vietnam vet.”

          As if TIA would know.

  13. This so-called professor is not temperate or rational, showing little interest in actually understanding other viewpoints. This disinterestedness in understanding other perspectives, especially whilst spouting ideologically-driven commentary, most certainly affects him as an “academic”. If he is not in the habit in his personal life to be curious, to be interested in what he does not yet know, then why would that suddenly manifest itself in his professional life? I am doubtful.

    1. “If he is not in the habit in his personal life to be curious, to be interested in what he does not yet know, then why would that suddenly manifest itself in his professional life? ”

Part of the answer might exist in his own bio:
“I enjoy spending time … consuming massive quantities of television through Netflix and Hulu.” ” I’m also a gym rat … to relive the athletic glory…”

I take special note of his use of the word “glory”.

      1. his gym is a hole in the wall. it has perhaps several holes in the wall, glory ones ya know lol

    2. HIs ignorant belief that Trump supporters are Nazis is reason enough to question his judgement.

      1. There’s a difference between ignorance (we’re all ignorant of nearly everything in an academic library) and being stupid. (In his case drawing nonsensical analogies which make zero sense but to which he is emotionally committed).

  14. The professor isn’t the first person to recognize the authoritarian tendencies in Trump & Company. More voices need to be heard to counter the growing fear that Trump might well provoke chaos if he loses the 2020 election.

It’s unfortunate that corporate media AND Democrats are largely silent about the threat that Trump poses to our democracy.

    1. More voices need to be heard to counter the growing fear that Trump might well provoke chaos if he loses the 2020 election.

I agree Bill. I’m proud of you for coming out and expressing what has been clear to millions of sane people since President Trump first announced his candidacy. That growing fear needs countering because there is no rational basis for it. Do you think the MSM will be encouraged to get onboard with this, or will they have to wait for the IG and AG to provide the evidence first?

      Anyway, welcome aboard.

      1. “Anyway, welcome aboard.” — OLLY

“Welcome aboard” this big old ship of fools.

  15. By all means, allow (or encourage) your professors to be abrasive, divisive, and hateful. It is their right.

    But is it smart?

The world relies on common sense to lubricate life; when somebody chooses to gum up the wheels of civilization, there is a cost.

Don’t know what the specific costs are, but they add up; how many of us are planning a vacation in Portland?

How many undecided voters are thinking: “You know, those Democrats seems a little extreme in their views?”

Your choice guys, but remember that there are consequences in life.

  16. “Some intolerant statements against students are deemed free speech while others are deemed hate speech. There is a lack of consistency in these actions which turn on the specific groups left aggrieved by out-of-school comments.”
    **********************

Oh it’s perfectly consistent: Left-favored group criticism is bad; Left disfavored group criticism is good. Really not such an intellectual Gordian knot. It’s only complicated when you assume anything other than bad faith by these Marxist university administrators.

  17. After the tenure vote, Thomas is back again spewing intolerant and offensive remarks on social media.
    ***********************
Without tenure, we wouldn’t be subject to these “intolerant and offensive” remarks. I’m all for his free speech. I just don’t think the good citizens of Mississippi have to underwrite them. BTW Thomas forgot to add “horse’s arse” to his identifiers on Twitters.
Oh, and here’s the cretin himself. Feel free to put your “whole damn fingers in his salad.” He does.

      “Slayer of Nazis.”

Pretentious self important twerp isn’t he.

I doubt if he has “slain” any Nazis; I doubt if he ever even converted a Nazi to another belief.

He does however succeed in making conservative, patriotic students look like they are being bullied by an authority figure.

Does raise questions about his ability to educate effectively/fairly if he hates a percentage of his students.

    2. Thanks for the link Mark. In his bio he says: Since completing my dissertation research, I have embarked on two other projects that reflect my interests in race, racism, their histories, and their contemporary practices. The first project seeks to uncover the complex and contested meanings of diversity, inclusion, and civil discourse that exist within American higher education.

It should come as no surprise that he then goes on to describe this project further referencing diversity and inclusion, but not one word about civil discourse.

      1. Civil discourse is not in his vocabulary and if it is the meaning is different from something we would recognize. His arrogance is the type of arrogance that permits the Hitler’s, Stalin’s and Mao’s to exist. Thomas is one of those small fish in that much larger pool. It seems the various university departments of sociology produce this type of creature on a regular basis.

        1. Stalin crushed fools like this, once he cleared Trotsky out of the way

Mao also did not depend on creatures like this. Mao staged a revolution that was old fashioned revolutionary bloodshed on a massive scale, not twitter-talk and other sorts of weak talk.

They were villains, but brutally honest villains, not garbage like this.

Hitler actually had tons of support in academia, but that’s another story altogether
